"hmm... hey Plato.." Badger needed some help. "seems we have a clean up of a magneto guy that imploded on the third floor."
"eeeeeeeeew!"
"... has a filing cabinet stuck in his forhead.. hehehe."
"um ouch?"
"sorry.."
"you have gloves... right?"
"..and a mop yeah."
"Never know what that guy had on.. him he was kinda.. not right.."
"well he's splatter now, so hopefully the magnetism doesn't fry me... guess we'll see."
"But..but.. but .. if he's dead.. I mean.. would, is it even possible that he -it could?" Her eyes scanned over Badger, her mind whirling through possible scenerios and affects.
"Could.. what.. tell me?" Looks at her and puts on thick gloves. "What.. hazmat? I mean, we could call Blink.. or someone could.. I dunno.. never dealt with a burst magneto before."
She shook her head and put a hand on his arm. "Give me the mop.. and gloves.. if I don't come back out in five minutes.. carefully come in.. okay?" She grimaced a bit at what she thought the room must look like, though she'd never seen anything of the sort.
"You sure? Um, okay, but have you seen a dead body before? Up close?" He had, but not like this. The war room had seen its share of mishaps, but the magneto was a new experience.
She bit her lip and shook her head. "No.. but.. I think it's safer for me to go check it out.. wouldn't want your hard drive to get fried, you know?"
Badger chuckled, "Hard drive... that's good. Thank you. Hey, um.. just in case.." He gave her his gloves and leaned to kiss her cheek. "There.. now if anything goes wrong... anything.. yell."
She smiled, her lashes batting at him as he pulled away from the kiss to her cheek. "Right.. don't worry about that... I'll yell... um.. okay.. going in.." She spoke softly and had been working hard on not speaking so rapidly that no one could follow. She pushed off the wall, taking the gloves and mop. "Thanks.. see you in a few." She turned for the door, taking a deep breath before she opened it.

He cringed on her behalf. Moving around to the wall near the door, he waited until it was closed safely and put his hand to sense for the wires that had gone to the security cameras. Cringing again, he realized how many were shorted and not allowing a clean path, but the electric supply was still intact. Reaching out to it carefully, he kept himself grounded to the metal frame of the door and traced the path to the lenses, hoping the camera itself was still operational. Circuity was pulled and scorched from the magnetic overload that had popped from the board, but he was able to see enough of movement if not a clear picture. What showed of the room was blips of static swirling around a horizontal bar, making it look like a scrambled cable station, but he could see her and that's what mattered most. He sighed and grinned, hoping she'd be okay.
She walked, cautiously towards the middle of the room, which is where the center of the 'mess' was. Once she actually saw what was there, she froze, her eyes wide and her breath coming in short gasps. "Oh.. ooh..oh..um.." She dropped the mop, starting to back away from what was left and the bits of the 'man'. She made herself stop moving and stood there trembling for a few moments. "okay.. okay.. can do this.. yep.. no problems.. oh oh.. eeew.. " She cringed and forced her legs to move again, bringing her closer to the man. Her first task was to make sure it was safe for Badger to be in here, or near this... mess. From the first glance, it apeared that when the man.. she shuddered. The mangetic force that had drawn and pulled and destroyed so much, seemed to be non existant now. She was as careful as she could be moving chairs and filing cabinents away from the body. There was no resistance or pull back towards the corpse.. She tested with smaller items, seeing the scatter of paperclips, tacks and the like on the floor around 'him'. Her hands were shaking as she got closer, finally touching the body itself. She jumped back nearly tripping after holding her hand to the cool form, long enough to feel safe and sure the field was no longer present. Once sure.. she was backing away from the man, trembling and nearly in tears. She stumbled around a desk and dropped down to her knees, doing her best to pull herself together before Badger's five minutes were up.
She moved forward then back from the pile of debris and cabinets from what he could tell then she dropped down or back or tripped and he couldn't see her. He tried to maneuver the camera to scan the room, but it was jammed in place. He checked the time. He promised her five minutes, but what if something was wrong and she couldn't yell? He let loose of the connection, trying to focus on the hallway in front of him as his vision cleared of the circuits. He pulled too fast and shocked himself from the electricity in the wall as his grounding hand shifted from the doorway. The jolt was only enough to knock him back a second, making his ears ring and his knee ache a little as he hopped to the door. "Damnit... keep f*cking forgetting.. ground.. ground.. Plato!!? Hey... everything okay in there?" He moved to listen at the door, knocking a little more emphatically than the calmness in his voice portrayed of his panic.
"Umm.." Her voice was a squeaked whisper as she stayed crouched down. "I.. I.. I'm okay.. it's okay.. all.. safe.. in here."
"Shit," he murmured, shaking the pain out of his knee. If he took the moment to look, he see the pale scorch mark and line where the electricity had run through him to the air. He held his breath as if the effect he worried himself over were an airborne toxin rather than magnetic or electric. The door opened and he moved in slowly, finding her on the floor. "Daaamn... what a disaster.. you ok?"
"yeah.. great.. " She didn't look up at him just yet, still needing to compose herself.

He knelt beside her and rubbed her back, "Hey.. I tried to tell you. I'm sorry. It's never pretty.. never.. and this is the worst I've seen."
"I know.. you warned.. but I don't think anything could have made seeing that any easier.. It's alright... I mean I'll be fine in a minute. Just a shock, you know? Eeew alot of eew. and I've never ever seen anything like that." She lifted her head and gave a small smile. "Thanks."
Brock surveyed the damage and patted her back as he stood up. "You okay with the mop? Seriously.. if you're not okay, I don't mind. I'll move this stuff and we'll... I guess.. get George in here... see if they can use any of what's left... tissue, anything.. not that there's much.. um.. yeah... just get the mop and I'll start moving this stuff." He felt the gag welling up in his throat as he started to shift the cabinet away from what used to be Maverick's... heads shouldn't look like that, he thought.
"I can mop.. if I feel faint.. I can just prop myself up on the handle. Are you going to call George anyway.. they may want the parts.. could learn something, from what is left."
"Yeah, I'll call George," he said, turning a little green as he moved a chair aside that had done no favors to the guy's liver and lungs. "Shoulda stopped smokin' dude.. that shit'll kill ya," he murmured, looking over the damaged body parts as he reached for the intercom to call the labs.
She gathered herself and stood, puffing out a sigh. "Does that still work?" She asked, looking at the intercom.
"Ge...," He'd pressed the button to speak as normal, having forgotten what had happened to most of the equipment when she asked. He looked at the panel and pressed the button again. Normally he'd hear the faint hiss of static from the live connection, but this had nothing. Like he had with the camera, he could hope to get the attention of someone in the lab. A longer route and a different interface, he had to be sure he was tracing the maze of wires to the correct destination. Brock leaned into the gore-painted chair, oblivious of the stains for the moment as he reached out to find the panel in the labs to get a message out for someone to come up. On the other end, the connection's 'on' light spluttered to life to show the live link if anyone was watching in the centrifuge room.
Galen looked up from the conversations as George addressed the slides he reviewed and relayed the information on the new 'hires' they'd brought in. The intercom blinked unsteadily though no sound came through. "Laddie, seems your monitor's on low battery. Should I send someone up to take a look?"
"Not on battery," he said without looking up yet. "Probably the LED. Get Badger down here, he'll take care of it. I wouldn't worry too much."
Galen's brow knotted as he studied the dimming and pulsing. It wasn't low or going out, but blinking in code. He grabbed a paper and pen and jotted down, getting only so far before understanding what 'Third floor.. magn..' meant. "Get Control... Badger's busy at the moment. May need y'lad, come on then."
"What? Go where? Galen?" He looked up and Irish was already out the door on his way up. He turned off the 'scope and grabbed the nearest kit, just in case, following as he grabbed the paper. "Third floor magn.. what?"
Popping back around the corner to be sure Dr. Montrose followed, Galen stopped and smiled, "Third floor... an unwelcomed guest has caused an error in the system.. Badger's there.. come on." He stopped at his office on the way and barked quickly to Control's office... thinking twice and leaving a courtesy message for Milo as well then moved along quickly to the third floor with the doctor in tow.
Control was in her office with Heinz about to go over the file on what they had discovered about the man called Maverick, or at least what she wanted the girl to know. She'd left him to cool himself down and promised herself she'd not let him get to their girl.. she'd do what she had to, to keep him at bay. When Galen's voice came barking over the intercom she frowned. "Not again.." She murmured, looking up to see the chair across from her empty.
