Jaime limped down the hall heading directly for Patrick...wanted to get to him before the 'good' burn was wasted. Sighing she stopped at the door to Galen's office and knocked. Leaning in the doorway with a slight wince.
Turning from his computer screen, he looked up with a nod hello and back down to his papers, only to look up again realizing who was visitng. "Evenin' lass... what brings y'by the lower decks?"
She pointed to her leg, in the short skirt the fresh acid burn was easily seen. "The alarm in the 'offices' was not false...we indeed have an intruder." She smirked. "Fiesty b*tch he was...I like him."
"Alarm?" He looked at his screen and tapped the refresh, waiting a moment before slapping the side of the tower and the monitor to no avail. "C'mon... damnit.. on the blink, lass. How far and who has him now? I'll get the sweeps down."
"Your girl has him... and he's more subdued than I could do and that says alot." She smirked again. "But of course he took one look at her and fell on the floor... was calling her Annie and dolly?" Jaime shrugged. "I just thought I'd let you know...have you seen my husband around?"
He was up from the desk and ready to brush past her in a hurry to the medlab, his jaw set and his eyes glimmering faintly. "Level 2 last I heard... trying a new modifier on the simulator. Says he's solved the problem with the AI adjustments to variable learning curves so it will automatically increase difficulty at random intervals... less predictable. He's testing it now."
Jaime smiled. "Thanks, babe." She kissed his cheek as he brushed past with a soft giggle as she headed to level 2.
He headed opposite toward the medlab, not sure what to expect, but the clip was secured as he walked briskly, the black barrel satisfactorily resting against his warm fingers.
Jaime took the elevator down and limped to the simulator and punched in her code. He would get a message inside the program that would let him know she was outside, waiting.
"Halt program," he said, his voice commanding and smooth.
In the observation booth, Badger watched on and saw the message light at the far door. He shut down the run and pulled the platform down. He nodded a "clear" to Tripp from the booth and motioned to the door, the safety locks showing green. He took the monitoring collar off and rested it on the platform as the door opened, Jaime stepping in.
Jaims limped in, the pain spreading through her left leg. She smiled, beautifully at Patrick. "How's it going? The upgrades taking well?"
"Not well, but the afternoon's looking up," he smiled sliding to her, pulling her into a welcome kiss. "You're limping... who got lucky?"
She pulled his hand down to the tender flesh and bit her lip as she pressed his fingers to the burn. "I did.." She breathed. "Had a bit of fun... Lab-rat is finishing up now... was thinking we shouldn't let this go to waste...how about a bit of our own fun?"
He grinned and didn't look over his shoulder as he called into the room, "Badger... be a good boy... find us some sandwiches... take your time, won't you?" Badger's hand went up in the booth, the blast shield came down on the inside of the specially designed glass as the light in the booth went off, leaving them in the cavernous play room alone.
"Oooo it's all dark... I'm alone with a bad, bad man." She purred, seeking his mouth and pressing her body against his. "Oh what ever will become of me?" She breathed, teasing.
