Bronwyns room
He stopped at her room, checking the time. He was a little early.. that was rare. He straightened the collar and looked to the floor. Bracing and squaring his shoulders he took a deep breath and knocked, "Bronwyn? You ready?"
There was a small crashing as if things were knocked over or falling.
He leaned to the door and checked the handle.. locked. He knocked again, "Bron? Plato??? Hey.. you okay?"
The lock clicked and she pulled the door open, smiling as she untangled her feet from a string of lights. "Hi!"
He chuckled, "Hi.. you okay?"
"Redecorating again, was elaborating on your meadow idea." She shook her head and chuckled. "Fourth time this week I have started and decided I didn't like it, then started again on something different. But I think your idea is going to be a winner. I lost track of time a bit, was caught up in lights and such. But I was ready, just tinkering to pass the time till it was time to go."
"Okay.. it's okay, really. C.. can I see what you've done?"
"Uh huh." She shook her head eagerly and took his hand, pulling him into her room. Her smile was bright and her excitment shone in emerald eyes. She had painted a mural along the whole wall. Soft greens and then light blues as they went up into puffy white clouds and darker blues across the ceiling. Tiny white lights traced across the midnight blue ceiling twinkling like stars.
He laughed in amazement, "Wow! You.. you did all this?" He said looking up, his attention diverted as his foot tangled and he lost his footing a moment before gazing back up at the lights then to her. "This is great!"
She giggled and shrugged. "Yeah I did. I told you, I don't sleep. You like it? I do. I think it will be cool to.." She pushed him back on the bed and flicked the big room light off, leaving the tiny lights on. She fell back on the bed next to him. "Yeah now you can get the real effect. Like looking up at the stars."
He gulped air.. did she just?... He looked over at her and back up at the "stars". The set up was amazing. One small bulb was flickering all by itself, dimming and going out. He reached out to it along the wires and gently 'nudged' it, helping it shine brightly. He chuckled and looked over at Bronwyn laying back, her skirt shifted on her knee. She was dressed cute and sassy and he felt overly formal.
She smiled up at the light as it flickered and then steadied. Her fingers slid to his hand. "Wow. You're amazing." She whispered, her legs curling as she shifted her feet onto the bed, knees bent. "You look great." She turned her head to smile at him in the darkness. "Sure you won't be embarrassed to have a plain jane like me as your date tonight?"
"Emba...what? You're.. no way.. you're stunning. I'm all suit and tie though... geek central," he said, looking to the floor. "Nothing plain about you at all," he muttered quietly.
"You're not a geek! And if you are a geek that means I like geeks. Am super attracted to geeks. I like the suit, the tie is good. It all looks sharp on you." She rolled to her side and tugged his tie curling it in her fingers. "I really like the tie, you look very handsome. Makes me think about kissing you. I want to kiss you. I've never wanted to kiss anyone. Never kissed anyone, had no one to think about kissing before. I mean, well I think about kissing you all the time. I've thought about it 32 times since I opened the door tonight. No really ok now 34. And the night when we rewired the simulators I thought about it 1004 times, But some of those thoughts lasted longer, were quite involved."
