April 27, 2008Another day, another split skull wandering past as he turned from the bar with two beers, heading for the pool table. The victim laughed and patted his attacker on the back as they wobbled each other out the door to pour their way to the hospital. He chuckled and slipped past the a couple sharing a chair, setting down the beers and resuming the game in progress. He was ahead and holding the table, having won several rounds. He lit up another cigarette and took his shot, making it clean and adding another notch on his belt for the evening. She moved through the crowd, like she was the knife and they were the warm butter. Her smirking smile parting her rich lips as her hips swayed with the walk of a woman in control. The small black case she carried housed her stick. She came to play.... whatever sort of game she could find. There was not usually anyone who could really play on her level and that wasn't just at pool. Her manner of dress was as always seductive.. provacative but by no means sl*tty. She approached the table and eyed the man who seemed in control. He looked at her, his eyes narrowing against the dim light and smoke, drawing her in as he pulled a drag on his cigarette. A smile graced his face as he blew out the smoke and motioned to her to toss the rack up on the table since it was right next to her leg in the end of the table. He emptied the pockets of the table, walking around to collect the set, never taking his eyes off of her. "Challenger breaks. Please.. and welcome." She gave a single nod of her head, the slight smile widening a little. Her fingers grasped the rack and she flipped it up neatly laying it upon the table. Her hips gave a subtle sway as she moved around the table. Setting her case down on a side she opened it and took out her cue, screwing it together. She chalked it lightly and then blew the excess away with full ripe lips. Her eyes watched the man's movements, curiosity sparkling within them. Her heeled boots making only a tiny click on the hard floor. "Thank you." She waited for him to rack the balls and then leaned over making nice break.Agile fingers tossed and juggled the set quickly into place, alternating appropriately. He paused before placing the eight, "House rules.. all called, one on up, no combined shots. You miss a shot or pass, you drain a drink. You miss the eight, you buy a round. Game ends when the last ball drops. Simple enough?" She smiled. "Works for me." She purposely missed her first shot just so she could drink. He smiled lightly, watching her glide past the first one. Two shots and he missed, but left her a difficult shot at best. His beer slipped beyond his lips easily and he tipped it to the waitress for a refill. Leta eyed the balls and walked around the table taking in the various angles. Leta called the shot, biting her lip. She bent over, her a** nicely displayed as she took her shot, which she sank. She smiled slightly -satisfied and then took two shots and missed one.He watched her lean for her shots, the strawberry blonde of her hair dripping from her temples, giving her a primal and enticing look. She missed and drank, still standing solidly. He chuckled and took his shot, a less-than-spectacular curving roll that connected but did not sink. He handed the table back to her and sat down to look at his beer, then deciding it was time to switch to real drinks. She attempted to make the ball he had missed but failed and straightened with a smile. The waitress approached and Leta moved towards her and Griffin. "Looks like we need another round." She dropped her money on the waitress' tray. He ordered a JD and lime and added to the amount on the tray for the difference. "Good thing I got a head start. You might accuse me of trying to get you drunk... if I weren't a little already myself," he smiled as the waitress walked away. Leta ordered a vodka and turned to him with a warmer smile. "I'd never accuse you of trying to get me drunk... I'd enjoy watching you try though." She winked at him and then offered her hand. "Leta.""Griffin," he said, resting his cue in the crook of his elbow and tipping his cigarette to his lip, grasping her hand in a firm shake. If she was good with voices, she might connect the name with his radio show, although in here he was just one of the boys having fun. "I might have to consider that challenge. You're pretty good at this." She cocked her hips to the side, leting her tongue slowly play across her lips. "Nice to meet you Griffin... " She leaned in close and in a low husky voice spoke. "It would be amusing to watch you try.." She took his cigarette from his lips and took a drag, before placing it back between his lips.He took a drag and pulled her back closer, settling a kiss on her, transferring the smoke to her as he gently exhaled, "If I had your complete attention, I wouldn't waste my time making you numb, dear.. not that way." She inhaled his smoke and smiled as she blew it off to the side. "That would be more interesting than watching you try to get me drunk." She made no move away from him, a different sort of challange being set. "What, getting your complete attention? Or letting you enjoy the company?" She raised a brow and brushed her lips across his moving to his ear. "First one.. then the other." She nipped lightly. She stepped back and let him take the comment how ever he would. He nodded and took the last of his cigarette, snuffing out the butt absently in the tray. He regarded her and motioned to finish the game fairly. He leaned and whispered, "You win, your choice of where to go and what to do after... I win, my choice, deal?" She offered her hand. "Deal." She accepted the challange and moved aside to allow him to take his turn. Watching his movements, carefully.Five had dropped, two-thirds remained. Six and seven were called and shot cleanly and now he toyed with the eight. He called a wild shot for the side, going for an unlikely bank shot, missing and shrugging. The waitress arrived and he took their drinks, sending her back for the last round. He sat back down, pouring the JD back and squeezing the lime after and popping it in his mouth. She watched him take his drink and the lime, her tongue traced her lips, unconciously. Moving to the table she leaned in to take a shot that should have been easy and missed as the ball bounced off the edge of the pocket. She swore under her breath and shook her head. But gave a smile and took her drink like a good sport. Waving Griffin to the table for his shot."Shark... dun dun dun dun," he whispered teasingly as he stood and whisked past her, a stray hand brushing her a** with no apology. He winked and took the shot, clearing it and two following, leaving the last on the table. He paced around the table, making it last as long as possible, then called and sank the last, leaning his cue against the rail, his hands going up at his sides in a 'who knew?' gesture. She unscrewed her stick and placed it in the case, closing and latching the lid. Her eyes then came up to meet his. No hesitation as she smiled. "Looks like you get to choose.." She walked up to stand before him, downing her drink and licking her lips. Griffin nodded, tapping another cigarette out of the pack, tamping it down on the box before lighting it. He offered her one. "Winner's choice... lessee... the Grande... downtown.. nice.. comfy... a suite of course. Cancel your plans for Sunday. Room service and all the trimmings... champagne because you've been a good sport... and a limo ride home after the box is empty... well?" "What size box?" She smiled at him taking his offer of a smoke, though it was not a regular habit, she sometimes had one. He lit it off the end of his own, "Surprise me... I'm up for the economy supply kit, myself... never seem to run dry on those, but... like you said, I'll willing to see you try." He rasped out, his voice low and sexy now that he used almost full sentences. She chuckled low and smiled sweet and seductive. "Well we could always jimmy he lock at Planned Parenthood, they have them by the case..." She stepped closer, running her finger up his chest. "Whatever we're doing, we should get out of this place... unless your into cuffs and police men." She winked. "The cuffs I don't mind... but the policemen might not let us have fun..""You just knock over a bank or something? Please say yes.. I love a dangerous woman who knows what she wants.. and just takes it," he said. [[Scene continued on our sister site due to content]]

"nice pics... mmhmmm"
"oh? You saw those?"
laughs. "I suppose I shouldn't have left them out... oh well. You liked them?"
"I suppose I shouldn't have looked at them... and yeah, they... speak to me," he smiled.
"Why? They were out... so you looked... I'm not ashamed of them." She stepped closer to him.
"Nothing to be ashamed of.... except I'm not in any...," he grinned and slipped around her. "Wanna pose for me? Don't have a camera, but..." he shrugged and kissed her softly.
She licked his lips lightly as she pulled back, her hands going to her shirt. She slid the fabric away and ran her hands over her front. "How would you like me?.... to pose.." She smiled and brought his hands to her. "ANy way you'd like.. just show me."
His head tilted as looked her over. He turned and blew the smoke away from her through the corner of his mouth. "On me... but we can work up to that."
"Mmm On you?" She chuckled. "I may like working up to that." She pouted, teasing him. "You never take me out.. " She chuckled and reached to pull him closer. "But I do love how you take me.."
"I neve.. well I keep meaning to, but we seem to find so many things to entertain us at home. Would you like to go out? A darkened theater perhaps? A dim restaurant?"

uh oh
mmmaybe I'll have to come around to see you sometime
*breathes carefully*... yea... yeah, she better
That could be arranged.. let me check my appointment book..
*takes the book out of her hands...* you're not busy... well... you weren't... but you are now
"Hey now! How do you know what plans might have been in there.. you didn't even look.." *tiny pout*
"They're canceled... one of you isn't going to show up, so don't waste your time there. Waste it with me instead."
"Give me a good reason why I should let you have my time.. to waste?" *Arches a brow, and tries not to smile, waiting for what he might have in answer*
"Because I asked nicely?" *shrugs and smiles* "How about 'because you know you want to?' Or, 'my death by a broken heart will be on your guilty conscience if you say no?' How's that?"
She looked away a moment to restrain the smile that wanted to shine brightly for him, turning back with a less stunning expression, though the spark in her eyes was hard to hide. "Since when did I develop this guilty conscience? and why would you die of a broken heart?" Her fingers walked up his chest to perch above the muscle and she tapped lightly with her index finger. "I'm sure it's stronger than you're giving credit for." She mused softly, tilting her head to the side in a slightly demure way.
"Most of me is," he smiled, reaching for her slender fingers. "It was worth a try. How about 'I have reservations that will cost me a f*ing fortune if I don't show up with the prettiest girl in town... cuz if you're not there, I'm not there. It was supposed to be a surprise, but... you asked."
"Well.. you caught me by surprise. I wasn't expecting you.. right here, right now.. a pleasant surprise of course, but a surprise none the less."
"Good.. great. Cuz there's more."
"but wait.. there's more.." She chuckled, teasing softly and leaning closer with a warm smile. "More.. are you going to tell me about it?"
"Depends. You gonna come waste that time with me or am I just going to spend the night with cheap color glossies and a towel?"
"You have cheap color glossies of me? I thought I had those hidden so well... " Her lips curved up as she 'pondered' and her finger tapped against her lips. "You know.. I wouldn't call time spent with you -wasted.."

*************************************** A couple hours later WRPG Radio station
He ran a hand over his face, hoping she wouldn't mind the change. She'd seen him earlier at the quick mart of all places, picking up a coke to wash down the taste of one too many hours on the show last night. Seems listeners wanted to talk which meant he wanted to talk. Seeing her tonight though meant it was a talk-free night, at least for the listeners. He'd put on a long play set or two and then it would be just the two of them. Subconsciously, he ran his hand over his smootly shaven jaw again. It had been a long time, he mused. Checking the clock, it was nearly ten and the rush hour guy would be getting out of the booth for Griff to take over and freshen the place up. Actually, that would be Leta's job if she showed up tonight.
When she'd seen him earlier her hair had been tucked up under a hat, running an errand for a sick tenant of the boarding house. He was a kindly older man who had a weakness for slush puppies and who would have thought she had a weakness for kindly old men? She chuckled at the thought as she drove across town, running a hand through her shorter and blonder hair. She wondered what Griff would think of her hair.. of her, she'd lost a few pounds around the middle, not that she'd been heavy before.. But she was slimmer now, none the less. She wore a simple pair of blue jeans, boots, a cream colored tank top and a leather jacket over it. It had been a long time since she'd seen him last and she was curious about why he'd asked her to come down. Would it be one of those hot and heavy then over in a few days again? She sighed as she pulled into the lot, parking her car and heading into the station, she stopped to give her name to the security guy, same one who always seemed to be there before, when she'd come. Apparently Griff had informed him of her visit and she took the little badge, with a "Thank you." and a wink. She heard the guard calling over the intercom that she was on her way in. Leta scolded herself for feeling so nervous about seeing Griff.. he was just a guy, yeah just a guy she was crazy about... Her long strides took her quickly down the hall and towards the booth, where he'd be doing his thing tonight.
The rush-hour guy was some rookie they'd got from a town not much bigger than this one. He still sat too close to the mic and still managed to leave too much dead air between announcements. Griff ushered him out and congratulated him on a job well done... well, the fact that it -was- done and took over the booth without much fanfare or conversation. He was pulling a log of sets played earlier and reached for a pre-programmed set of 80's love songs to wind down the night. The set would go a full hour and he was lucky to have the ads pre-set at specific times. All he needed to do was push a button and he was set. Pushing buttons, winding down, love songs. What the hell was the matter with him? He laughed at his actions and looked at the speaker as the voice came over, his smile billowing out of nowhere. He snapped his fingers against his fist and rolled into the chair to get his live- and in-person announcements done, announce the set and the mic was off. She'd have him to herself... he'd have her... man, what was he thinking?
She 'snuck up' to the window and watched him talking into the mic, she could hear his voice as she did a few times late at night, listening to him on the radio. She was hardly going to tell him that she'd thought of him and on a few lonely nights had tuned in, just to hear his voice. She watched and waited, standing in view, of the window, where he'd see her when he turned. She didn't realize that a soft, sensual smile had crept onto her face.
Guilty as charged, his voice caught as he turned to pic up his cigarette, looking up to see her standing there. Blonde? Did I miss something? He wondered and smiled for her, pointing to the door and to come on in. He didn't leave the listener's long, feinging a drop in the signal by coming in at the end of a word like he didn't miss a beat. Trying not to laugh, he finished the announcement and flipped over to a commercial set and pressed the button to start the music.
She stepped into the booth, her clothes hugging her trim figure in ways they hadn't before. She ran her hand through the locks that came just past her shoulders now, where they had been down to her lower back before. Leta smiled and waved, remaining silent as he finished up, though she came behind his chair and set her hands on his shoulders, a soft kiss to his cheek.
He rested the cig carefully on the edge of the desk and reached up to hold her hands on his shoulders, looking back at her, upsidedown. "Hey you, come back down here."
"Hey yourself.." She whispered, leaning back down to him.
He could remember the way her lips felt on his. When they pressed softly down he reached up along her arms to be sure she was real. Minor things had changed, but she was everything that had filled his dreams lately. Maybe he was delirious and running a fever. He felt giddy and strange, the chair contributing to the feeling as it tipped back too far unexpectedly causing him to jerk.
"Ah!" She laughed at the startle his jerk gave and pressed her hip to the back of his chair to ensure he would not tip over. "Well hello." Her eyes sparkled with amusement and the laughter bubbled inside her, the joy at being near him.
"Sorry... hello," he smiled, righting the chair and spinning to see her right-side up. "Would you like a seat?" He offered his palms outward and a welcoming lap, his grin quirked playfully and his eyes glimmering. "One more announcement then the programs handle themselves."
Her hand placed on her hips, lifting her top just slightly to expose a bit of skin. "Invited me for a romp, for old times sake, did you?" She still smiled as she watched him from a foot away.
He smiled a little wider, somewhat bashfully, "No, not this time."
Her smile brightened a little and she glanced around the booth a bit. "Good." She said softly, looking back to him and his lap.
"Well I suppose we could, but that's not what I wanted to talk to you about. C'mon... I won't bite... well, I might nibble a little."
She took the two steps required to reach him and folded gracefully into his lap. "Alright.. I'll admit, I'm curious as to why you invited me.."
"Because I need a witness to my insanity and you're the only one I trust," he whispered with a grin, holding up his finger with a 'one minute' sign, holding onto her tightly for a moment while he took care of his remaining on-air announcement. He altered his voice slightly to carry the smooth radio tones and the announcement of the titles of the last songs he'd chosen. "There you have it, one last trip down memory lane to the 80's with the Dire Straits' 'Romeo and Juliet', The Cars' 'Wound Up on You' and a lesser known beauty with The Tubes "She's A Beauty'. That's about it for me tonight folks. You talked me out last night so tonight I'm making up for it with some more favorites to rock you into your sweet goodnight. I'll be back in an hour. Until then... who loves ya...?" He grinned up at her and turned from the mic. Maybe the question was to the listeners and maybe it was to her. Either way, he leaned back and held on tighter.
She pondered his selection of tunes for the night and then lifted an eyebrow at his last words. Her arms looped loosely around his shoulders as he leaned back, holding her tightly and taking her with him. "mmm hello again?"
"Hello again," he stated softly. "I'm not sure where I need to begin. I had it all worked up in my head and now I'm just hearing guitars, waiting for my solo I guess."
Her finger stroked softly over his cheek and she gazed deeply into his eyes. "Just let me know when you want to start." Her lips curled in a beautiful smile.
"Yesterday...," he said.
"Um.. but its already today." She brushed the tip of her nose against his.

"You asked," he shrugged, brushing back and reaching to kiss her. "Yesterday, last week, six months ago.... Leta, I ... I'm done," he shrugged again, kissing her again and looking up in her eyes.
Her lips clung softly to his, brushing over his again after her spoke. "Done? What do you mean?"
"Done. Done looking, done playing... done packing up and leaving when I am done," he whispered against her lips, not wanting to stop feeling them for days. "Done saying goodbye and not knowing when I'll see you again. I hate that and I want it to stop... tonight.. here, now. Do you understand?" His kiss became slightly more demanding, but remained gentle. Something in it was timid and scared like a boy on his first date.
"Griff?" She questioned in a gentle kiss, her eyes opening as she pulled back, searching his. "What do you want to do about this?"
"I don't know. What do you want to do?" He teased and offered her a cigarette from the pack on the desk, shaking it out of the end of the soft pack for her to grip.
She poked his chest lightly before reaching to take the smoke. "I asked you first..."
"Hmm.. not up here you didn't," he smiled, pulling the pack away and tapping his temple. On the side of the cig there was small note written...a single word ... 'stay'.
Her eyes narrowed a bit as she read the word on the cig. "Inventive.." She murmured with a small smile, her fingers tracing over his jaw. "Stay.. for how long? An hour here in the booth? Tell me what's on your mind.. tell me what you want." She whispered.
"Here, in the booth, then come home with me. Stay... Leta. Like really stay... with me."
"Tall order for a woman you haven't seen in so long.. Are you sure?" She kissed his lips softly. "I can't.. I have the boarding house to take care of, I can't leave it."
"How much?"
"How much?"
"How much?" He asked again, grinning. "How much for a room? Let me stay there. I've got a steady job and you know where to find me if my rent is late. Leta, I don't want you to walk out that door for another... who knows how long. Yes, I'm sure that I don't want to go through watching you walk away again."
"I wouldn't charge you for sharing my room.. though I may give you some chores.. like making our bed or cooking me breakfast."
"No freebies. Not a chance. You've got enough to worry about. I'm no freeloader. Bacon or sausage?"
"Both actually... do you drink 1% milk or whole?" She smiled, feeling another soft laugh bubble up.
"Neither, so don't worry. Just a drop in my coffee and we're good. So is that a yes? I mean, I'd still have the suite at the hotel... any time you want to get away just say the word."
"I.. yeah, its a yes... We can go by and pick up a bag on the way home from here, later.. if you want to come that soon.."
"I'll get the bag later. What do you want for breakfast? I'll get off here at 4.. the new guy comes in for the morning report then and I'm all yours. I make an awesome french toast," he grinned boyishly.
"We'll discuss breakfast tomorrow afternoon, sometime.. when we start thinking about getting out of bed." She grinned, letting the giggle roll out as her arm tightened around his shoulder.
"Thought you had a house to run," he said, tickling her gently.
"I do.. but it can survive a few hours.. I'll only be in my room if I am really needed... Unless you're telling me you'd rather I not give you the extended tour.." She licked her lips and winked.
"Who said I'll let you out if you're needed, huh? Let them wait. I want you all to myself."
"I think I like the sound of that." She whispered over his lips as she teased lightly.
"I think I do too. Well, so that only took ten minutes. How do you want to kill another fourty-five?"
"Just like this." She curled deeper into his lap and wrapped her arms around him, dipping her lips to take his.
He was still nervous. Was he dreaming all of this? Did she really take it that well and say yes? He leaned the chair back against the console to keep from tipping backwards, leaning himself back a little and sliding his fingers to the peek of midrift she'd teased him with earlier. The cigarette he'd left on the edge was knocked sideways a little, resting now on the wood itself, not that he noticed.
She rested against him comfortably as he tipped back a little, her legs wiggiling over the arm of the chair. Leta tilted her head back a bit and took a deep breath in, coming forward again to snuggle closer to him. Her lips nibbled over his neck and tugged softly at his ear.
"Thank you. This is nice.. tha... that's really nice," he murmured, settling against her nibbling. A few moments later, the scent of the singed wood made itself known. "Mmmm... hey... hey, I think we have a problem, Houston."
"hmmm? oh.. shit.." She laughed as she moved from his lap and quickly grabbed a coffee mug to roll the cig into. She pulled off her tank top in a sweeping motion and poured the liquid onto it, pressing it down onto the smoldering wood. Making sure there was no 'fire' ready to spark in the wood and protecting and equipment from being damaged as it would be if the liquid was directly poured onto the surface.
"Thank you again," he chuckled, stepping up behind her and kissing her bared shoulder. "See, I need you."
"Oh? But in all fairness this might not have happened if I weren't distracting you." She smiled, leaning softly into his lips on her shoulder, letting the shiver move pleasurably down her back.
"In all fairness, that's not the only smouldering fire we have going here," he whispered, kissing around her neck, beneath her hair he shifted gently, though it wasn't as long now. His other hand moved around her, warming her and holding her close, his thumb reaching up to tease her lightly.
"Think this one is out? So we can give our attention to the other?" She let her head rest back against the front of his shoulder, her hands moving up to cover his. One arm reached back to curl around his neck as her head turned to greet his mouth with a sweetly passionate kiss.
"Mmm... heh..ask me if I care. Just this one I'm worried about," he murmured, sliding into her kiss.

She would have asked him, if only to be a smart ass, but she was too busy enjoying the kiss to bother. Her fingers curled into his hair as she savoured the flavor of his mouth on hers. "Call me crazy," he whispered, moving the kiss to her cheek then to her ear. "Crazy." She murmured breathing in a soft gasp, her eyes fluttering with the ripples sent from his lips over her silken skin."Thank you... so I now I can tell you I love you," he said easily, continuing to raise the chills and keep them rippling in her. She stilled, spinning in his arms and catching his chin in her hands. "Did you just say..?" "No.. wasn't me," he grinned, blowing her a kiss. "Yes.. what did you think I said?" "It sounded like you said 'I love you'..""Okay, then you heard what you thought you did. Objections or are you going to let me show you?" "Not objecting.. just this is all very sudden.. you show up.. invite me for a visit.. then we're moving in together and now you love me.. all in one night... you sure know how to floor a girl." She smiled, running her thumbs lightly over his cheek bones. "I was going to suggest that next," he teased. "Spur of the moment.. it wasn't what I called you over for, honest." "You didn't call me to tell me all this, how you felt?""That part yes. I meant that romp... this romp... the one I'm about to take you on in reckless abandon in thirty seconds. I hadn't meant to, but... I can't help it." "Oh, the romp.. " She sighed, dramatically, her smile teasing as she rolled her shoulders. "Well I suppose if you can't help it.. " "No, but here. Let me help you... with this... and these..," he said, slipping buttons and fabric out of the way. [[continued on our sister site due to content]]
