The airstrip
Mari sat in the seat of the plane sipping her soda, they would be landing soon. A private strip... they had already passed through the border inspections and their passes and cargo were checked out. Now in US airspace they were able to move on. Mari smiled at Elias. "Almost there."
Mentalists of any kind made him nervous. He didn't like having his brain picked or his emotions shuffled through. The new guy could be just fine and a likeable person, but he still had reservations. He held his hand over his eyes against the gray glare as the plane came in view. Mari was home safe at least. Relieved for that, he motioned to the driver to start the car. They wouldn't be staying long.
Elias nodded fingering the plastic cup of water. "Good." So he wasn't the best flyer. As they set down he gripped the armrest of the chair and took in a deep breath.
Mari reached over and held his hand tightly as they landed giving him a soft smile. Once the plane had come to a stop and they were unloading, Mari undid her belt and took his cup from him. "Your bags will be loaded in the car... Get you settled in and something to eat." The doors were opened now and the stairs rolled out.
Elias unbuckled and stood. "Very effecient you are." He observed aloud as he followed her off the plane.
Mari chuckled. "Just my nature and part of my job." She walked down the steps, the car was waiting not far from the plane. She recognised the form standing near it right away. Mari's face lit up, eyes sparkling and a beautiful smile as she came down the steps and closer to Drake.
Elias followed close behind, taking note of the car, and the man. He wasn't harmful to the eyes, but the way she looked upon him, Eli could come to a close conclusion that these two were an item.
Drake smiled lightly to the girl, reaching behind to her back, pulling her in gently. He nodded to the stranger, holding out a black-gloved hand in greeting. "Mr... Farrell, isn't it?"
Elias wasn't wearing his gloves at the moment, only truely needing them when he is too tired to control his powers, he reached out and shook Drakes hand. "Elias." He said with a nod.
Mari slipped her arm lightly around Drake and smiled. Her eyes cast to Elias. "Elias, this is Mr. Veinna." She patted Drake's chest and gave him a playful face as she passed in front of him, back to Elias to get into the car.
"Pleasure Mr. Vienna." He said as he took his place inside the car.
He nodded again with a grin, closing the door behind once everyone else was in, and got into the front. It wasn't a limo by any means, but the windows were dark and the interior large for passenger car. It still ran on gasoline and sputtered out a short puff of grey smoke as they turned on the grainy strip to get back to the road.
Mari looked at her watch, she knew that by the time he got settled and fed, it would be too late to meet them tonight. She was quiet during the car ride, smiling sometimes -mostly looking out the window. She rubbed her temples, having had several 'visions' in one day and even now slight things slipped in and out of her head. Some days were like this... constant and wearing.
Elias tapped his knee with his hand as they grew nearer their destination. He reached into his jacket pocket and looked to her, pulling out a pack of cigarettes. "Mind if I?"
"No, go ahead." She tapped the window control opening it a little at the top.
"Thanks." He said as he pulled one of the sticks out and then fished around for his lighter. He took a long drag off the end, and breathed a sigh, he seemed a bit more calm.
