These pages contain the thoughts, dreams and desires of the young and volatile Miss Westgate. ((Soon to be missus Carlisle, but that is a story yet to unfold when this journal begins)) This record begins in late Spring,Year 1.
The cover of the book is a dark leather, oiled to be smooth, a few deep scratches mar the back, with a metal clasp and somewhat ornate metal trim at the corners, it is beautiful in a dark manner. The pages within are soft, supple and scented with Lily's favorite perfume.
While she still resides with her parents, the diary is hidden behind the head board of her bed, balanced between the bed and the wall on a specially carved notch and out of view.
When Lily goes to live with Patrick and his family, the book will no longer be hidden, it will rest in the top drawer of the dresser. Sometimes being left out on the bedside table or on top of the dresser as if to tease and tempt the other occupant of the room with it's pressence in the open.
