continued from: He Told Me Not to Eat You
-Afternoon-
Sapphira had mostly wandered, searching to find what she would need to take care of things for Trent. Finally finding herself in front of a shop that looked perfectly suited to provide her everything. It even smelled 'right', those inside drew her attention as well, some of them mere humans but a few others.. She smiled as she stepped inside curiously, she was drawn deeper into the shop, towards some shelves that were set sort of off to the side.
"That-a-girl. Good choice. They'd be 'new to him' .. he won't notice if they're old pieces. I think he likes things old and musty, anyway," Az mused, running an unseen finger over the top of the set Sapphira was admiring. The clerks would be asking her questions in a minute. "Psst... check his coat pockets... something that feels like paper and round pieces of metal. You'll need those," she suggested, again subliminally, though here, she wouldn't be unwelcome to appear.
Sapphira did as Az told her and dug around in Trent's coat pockets until she found the money. She pulled it out and stard at it for a long moment, glancing back to the shelves and trying to find the connection between the two.
Az had watched the girl as she wandered around town, amused by how she'd floored and bedded Trent in less than a day though it had taken Mack almost... oooh.. can't mention her, no no... he's forgotten her.. erased, lost to time, but that wasn't important now. What Sapphira had done was something he'd not done before and for that entertainment, Az repaid the girl with a few favors of happenstance. She thought of enlightening Trent herself about this girl, but that would all come out in due time. For now she spoke with Sapphira, guiding her where Trent could not go.. into the light of modern day. She whispered enough for her to hear now, "That.. is money. There are different values there in your hand. These ladies have something called a price on those shelves there that equals a little less than that one... this one... and... two of these," she said, pointing to the bills in her hand as she fanned them out.
Sapphira was not familiar with this currency, it was a different sort of trade. "The shelves.." she spoke softly to the woman at the counter, who eyed her with an odd expression. Her bare feet, the long coat and the way she regared the money as if she'd never seen it before. Sapphira was grateful for Az's help and would find some way to make them even. Her eyes wandered about the shop, spying other items that could and would be most useful.
