morning
Veinna Estate - Informal Dining Room
Jaime was at the table, only she and her father left in the room, he was reading his paper and she was eating some cereal, her mind wandering over a recent break up and to other boyfriends she had in the past as well as the one who she was considering now. The prospects didn't seem bright or promising. "Daddy do you think I should really be a sl*t?" She asked suddenly, wondering what he might say on the matter.
Scotty looked over the stocks and race scores with a grimace. He was only halfway paying attention to his oldest daughter's conundrum and seemed to be mulling over one of his own. "You can be whatever you set your mind on, sweetpea," he said flatly, changing topics as if she'd asked about shoes. "Is there any coffee left?"
She pouted deeply, he wasn't paying attention and she needed his attention right now. "Beause these guys, you know.. they annoy me and they don't deserve it.. so I don't give it out. I just toy with them like rats in a cage... but..." She sighed heavily. "You're not listening!" She tried another tactic. "Lily likes it in the ass." Maybe he'd hear that one.
"Rats? We have rats?" The corner of the paper folded down suddenly and he looked over it, confused.
Jaime glared at him for a few seconds and then rolled her eyes with another heavy sigh. "Nevermind!"
He'd missed something and needed to start from the top. Smiling, he folded the paper down and put it aside. "Jaime dear... come here. What's bothering you, hm?" He offered the seat closer to him if it would help.
She was still pouting as she looked at him and he finally paid attention to her. "That I can't find.. a man.. I mean I can find men. but.. I haven't found anyone that really suits me.." She was honestly troubled about this. "What's wrong with me?"
"Not a thing that I can see. You're particular and that makes Daddy very happy," he winked.
"I'm gonna die a virgin, unless I become a total skanky sl*t.." She groaned and let her head drop back over the edge of her chair, staring at the ceiling.
"That would also make Daddy very happy," he teased. "Don't become a sl*t, though. Ammunition is awfully expensive and the boys are just far too eager. If you have to play games with your boys, keep it challenging, alright?"
She groaned again. "I don't want to be a sl*t... I like to play... but damn it, I want to find a man worthy of me... " She puffed out a long exagerated breath. "I do and I will keep it challenging... I'll be ninety and lose it in a nursing home to some guy with a bottle of viagra."
"Jaime... you're eighteen and beautiful. I can't tell you what to do, but I can offer. Let one of the boys take you to one of the clubs tonight. Be a free young girl, but be smart."
"And I'll be sure to have someone at the nursing home the next morning with the dog food buckets," he grinned.
"Yeah?" She rolls her head to the side to look at her father, a small pout on her lips. His last comment made that curl into a smile and she laughed. "I love you, Daddy." She sighed and leaned to kiss his cheek.
"Go on... did you say there's more coffee?"
"Yes." She smiled and refilled his cup for him, before turning and 'skipping' out of the informal dining room.
