June 26, 1957 9pm
The car drove up the narrow road to the little clear patch near the lake where kids came primarily for one thing, which the boy driving was keen on but the girl in the passenger seat was not in favor of. Jaime had her arms folded, a pout fixed on her lips and her eyes stared ahead. Her date kept reaching over to try to pull her across the seat to sit close with him but she also wanted no part of that. She was only on this date because her she'd broken up with her steady boy of just over a year and she thought this might cheer her up some. It hadn't worked and the fact that she was being taken to the teen parking spot made her more than annoyed, especially since she'd made it very clear she didn't want to go.
It wasn't a surprise when he turned the engine off and turned to her, trying to coax her to into a little something and closer to him. "I already told you I didn't want to come here, so you can just turn around and drive me right home. Thank you." Her voice was clipped and her teeth clenched as she heard him laugh.
"Aw come on Jaime.. don't be like that. I just want a little kiss." The grip on her arm pulled her closer to him and she tried to yank herself away, his other hand came up and his mouth crushed hers.
She clamped her lips closed and clawed at him, finally getting her arm up to punch him as she wrenched herself away. Her father had taught her that one and the boy was stunned enough to let her go and she got out of the car, slamming the door and starting off down the dark road in a huff.
She hadn't gotten too far when she heard the other car door slam and the footsteps behind her, her eyes rolled and she sighed. She wasn't like other girls and wouldn't be sweet talked into getting back in the car with him. She'd rather walk home in the dark!
"Jaime!" He tried to be all authorative and she nearly snorted but glared as his hand caught her arm and spun her around to face him.
She actually stumbled a little as the heel of her shoe caught and broke. Before she could say anything, he was yapping in her face.
"Don't be like that.. I took you out all nice.. I just wanted.. a kiss. Is that too much to ask?"
It really wasn't too much to ask and she admitted as much with a slight shake of her head but sighed again. "I don't want to kiss you." She replied honestly and softly, shrugging her shoulders a little.
"Well why not?" He seemed a bit put out by her response, and kind of pouted himself now.
"Because... I'm in love with someone else." She didn't look away or show any doubt that this statement was the full truth.
"Well don't that beat it all.. You're just a little tease!" He hadn't let go of her arm and he glared back at her. He decided he was getting his kiss and grabbed her by hair to hold her still, she closed her mouth again and he tried to pry it open with his lips and tongue.
The way he had ahold of her hair, she couldn't really hit him like she wanted to but his slobbering and prying at her mouth gave her another idea. In the next moment he was groaning with pleasure as she finally gave in and her mouth opened. In the next breath he was shrieking and jerking away from her. Her lips had blood glistening on them and a little smeared around her mouth as the boy stumbled away, cursing her while blood splattered from his mouth to the ground and down his shirt. She'd bitten down really hard on his tongue, that should teach him to be stupid. Jaime turned again and felt the wobble of her broken heel, she reached down and slipped her shoes off before continuing to walk down the dark road away from the stupid boy and his car.
Brightened by his temptataion to laugh at the misfortune of the boy she pushed off, his eyes were all that moved at the moment from the cover of shadows until she walked off alone. The smile then grew wide and cold as his tongue slipped over his lips and a billow of steam puffed then faded from a small snort to the night air. Blood? Good girl! She knew just how to work him up in every way, didn't she? The kid was starting back to the car to find something to stop the bleeding. He couldn't sit here and just watch, could he? It was his duty to help the poor guy.. in a manner of speaking.
It was after nine and the area was slowly filling with cars and couples in the nooks between trees and across the wider, open 'lot' where the more brave and brazen would get their jollies in the growing darkness. Joe Earlybird here caught himself a break, didn't he, he thought, looking around the couple of steamed windows and the distant headlights journeying up the weaving path to come here, confirming there were no witnesses to the failed attempt, or to the events about to unfold. Tsk tsk, Joe, he thought, shaking his head and waiting for just the right moment. They were far enough from home that the laughter and squeals weren't heard. Nobody was going to hear Joe, either. The boy's back was turned as he choked on torn tongue and blood, reaching for the fender of the car to hold himself up. Perfect, hold it right there...
He dove from the safety of the low branches and small shrubs, bowling the guy off his feet, across the trunk and down to the ground on the other side. The last ol' "Joe" would ever see as he pushed himself up from the face full of gravel would be the red eyes and the long, graceful and hungry tongue sliding over blackened jowls and jagged destiny. Good night, Joe, he grinned, taking him down the embankment below the level of headlights. The cops would have to come looking, but there wasn't much left - even ol' Joe's clothes were gone. Now... where did Jaime get herself off to, he wondered, climbing back up the embankment a few minutes later, catching the scent and jogging along to find her.
She was walking quickly despite being barefoot, her anger was fueling her stride and making her ignore the light slapping noise her steps made against the pavement. Her shoes clutched in one hand and her arms wrapped around her middle, her blonde hair bouncing in a ponytail. She didn't know she was being followed but had felt like she was being watched earlier, that feeling started to creep up again and her free hand rubbed the chill off her arm. She was cooling off a touch, enough to realize she was walking all alone down this road and her date wasn't coming after her.
His steps slowed to a fast walk as he came up on her, also barefoot and not easily heard. His clothes were ripped and splattered with blood and his hair toussled out of the perfectly smooth 'duck' he'd had earlier in the day. He noticed now that a few twigs had latched hold and he plucked them free to find other new scratches under them. He actually chuckled, not finding them painful so much as entertaining it seemed. He couldn't help either that as he came up behind her, he rudely belched as if he'd just eaten a large dinner.
Jaime jumped and let out a tiny yelp of surprise as he startled her and to be honest scared the heck out of her which was evident in her heavy breaths, pounding heart, and wide eyes. She spun, her arm pulled back ready to hit him with her shoes and then she saw who it was and slapped his arm with the shoes anyway but not as an attack. This was more of a scold as she glared at him. "Are you trying to scare the life outta me?"
"Out of you?! Heck no... well, maybe a little," he said, seeing how she breathed so roughly with the unexpected jolt. The scratches were already mostly gone as were the other marks from tumbling down the hill on gravel and branches so the blood didn't appear to be his at all now. "Looks like we both had a blow-out, huh?" He nodded at the shoes she carried, having seen her stumble when the heel had broken. "How's the ankle?"
She looked at her shoes and then dropped her hand down at her side, almost hiding them behind her skirt, he asked about her ankle and she looked down at the ground with a slight shrug. "I don't know.. I've been to angry to notice it." She admitted and slowly brought her gaze up. it stopped on his torso and her pout seemed to deepen with concern, despite telling him when she broke up with him that she never wanted to see his face again. Jaime couldn't deny that she had a temper and when riled.. well she was fiesty. "What happened to you?" She asked reaching out to the tears and blood on his shirt. "Are you hurt?" She asked and he'd know she was truly concerned over him.
"Eh, I'll live. It was just something really stupid. Stupid lost though, I won," he chuckled, reaching for her hand to gently pull her closer or at least keep her from running off the moment she remembered she wasn't talking to him. The grin stayed, lighting up his eyes. "But actually, yeah I am still hurt. You know I don't like 'goodbye' when you say it, Jaime."
Her eyes fluttered closed as his hand wrapped around hers, she couldn't help the way her fingers tucked around his, she opened her eyes to gaze up into his. She didn't say anything for a long moment and she fought the tears that shimmered in her mossy green eyes. "Then you shouldn't have made me say it." Her voice was soft but strained with emotion.

"I had to. Things were just messed up and I couldn't fix it all then. I think it might be all better now, though. Hey.. don't do that. They'll think you've gone all gushy and soft," he said, reaching up to stroke the tears off her cheeks. He looked around the road they were walking along that wasn't getting softer now that he mentioned it.
"Might be all better? When will you know for sure?" She asked, still pouting, blinking at the tears and angry that any escaped, especially in front of him. "Well if I have gone soft.. it's all your fault anyhow."
He looked around like he was caught with a handful of cookies now. His tongue poked into his cheek as he smiled. "Mmm about fifteen minutes ago. I know for sure it's smooth sailing now. So... does daddy-o still hate me all the way down to my shoes?"
"Yes, he hates you... more now since we broke up." She informed him, her eyes moving over his clothes and marks or lack of and her eyes narrowed on him a little. "What happened fifteen minutes ago?"
"What's it called.. a revelation, is that it? Something that changed my life and gave me a direction. I witnessed the best thing that ever happened, Jaime," he started, reaching for her broken shoes.
"Really? What did you see?" She asked him, her expression was more curious now, the tears drying and her hand still holding onto his. She gave up the shoes with little protest, letting him take them and waiting for his answer.
"You," he smiled, leaning to kiss her himself.
"M.." She didn't even get the whole word out and it ended in a soft 'mmm' in the kiss as she stood up on tip toes to kiss him back. She didn't bite him or try to push him away.
Essex finished his statement with a tiny nibble over her lip before letting go completely. What she'd said confused him a little. "More since? I thought he'd be over the moon and glad to be rid of me. Not you, though. Admit it. You miss me."
"He is glad to be rid of you.. he's just mad as heck that you broke my heart and proved him all right.. or at least that's how he sees it. I told him I broke up with you but he said he didn't care cause you hurt me either way." She explained with a slight shrug and a sigh at her father's logic. Jaime stared at Essy, pouting for a long moment before shrugging again. "What do you care if I missed you?" She didn't deny she had but didn't fully admit that she had either. "Does it change anything? Does it even matter?"
"That's my point, Jaime. I do care. More than you might ever know unless you let me take you home. Come to think of it.. there's a lot you don't know," he said with a tongue in his cheek, grinning widely and tempting her to learn and ask and find out for herself. He stepped backwards and then another step, challenging her to chase him. "But since you don't really miss me, I'll keep all of it to myself." He shrugged off the tattered shirt that wasn't even his, letting it fall into his hand. She'd see no marks at all to indicate he'd been injured any time recently.
She wasn't even looking at him as he shifted his shirt off, her gaze had gone to the ground in front of her and was blurred by tears that made her angry because they were real. She had missed him, being without him even for a short time hurt more than anything ever had before. It was like she was missing a part of herself. "Then why did you tell me no when I asked you to run away with me?" She slowly lifted her gaze, she saw he'd taken off his shirt but her vision was blurred by the tears she tried to brush away. The first thing she saw was his grin and she just shook her head. "Yeah, you care so much you're laughing at me.. this might be a joke to you.. but it isn't for me. I love you, Essy." She didn't even care that he had her shoes still, she started walking again.
He sighed, his shoulders falling and gaze going skyward. She must or she wouldn't be making this so hard. He wrapped the shirt around the shoes. They really weren't his color and even he had some amount of male pride and didn't want to be seen in passing with the pumps. Her words hit him full on the moment she walked away and he stood still as if swarmed with butterflies, inside and out. She meant it and she was walking away. "Jaime, I'm not laughing at you. I wouldn't," he explained, now moving quickly to keep up with her, walking ahead of her, backwards to be sure they heard one another. "If I told you then, you would think it was some story I made up to tease you. If I tell you now, you'll think it's because I want us to stay apart. I don't. I want more than anything to be with you like I always have. Now... tonight... I know there's nothing that can stop us. When you're ready to believe me, I'll tell you why I said no."
"When I'm ready to believe you? Essy.. sometimes.. I just want to shake you!" She was frustrated and angry and no closer to understanding why he said no then and why he was talking to her now. "Why don't you tell me and give me the chance to decide whether or not I believe you? Or you could start with telling me why tonight is different from the one that I asked you to run off in the first place?"
"God do I wish you would," he said wistfully, nearly pleading right there. "I dream of that sometimes and I don't want to just dream it. If you want me to tell, you have to promise with your very earthbound soul to never in this life or the next tell anyone what I'm about to tell you."

She stopped walking again, her expression changing from one of frustration to one of concern and a seriousness in her eyes that said she wasn't teasing about anything. "Essy... are you in some kind of trouble?" Her voice was softer as if worried someone would overhear them where they stood along the side of the road. "Don't you know that you can tell me anything? I won't tell anyone. I promise, Essy.." She lifted her hand and motioned over her chest, crossing her heart and promising to keep his secret. ".. just please don't keep secrets from me.. not important ones, anyway."
He shook his head, a grin flashing through the expression that darkened in his sincerity as he stepped close and reached out the shirt and shoes for her to hold onto. "Take these and listen carefully," he started, reaching back to the pocket of the jeans to pull out the wallet he set on top of the shirt. "I'm not in trouble and I never will be. I love you, Jaime and nothing will keep me from you. What I'm going to say will sound like I'm insane, but you know me. I'm not. I saw what happened tonight.. with your friend? He tried to manhandle you.. and had no clue what the hell he was doing. You bit him.. Man you bit him hard and it was sooo beautiful," he said, his eyes welling up with awe and approval as he smiled. "That was my revelation, Jaime, right then, knowing without any doubt how much I need you and want you. Well, he's not going to get in my way, and no one else ever will. When they find him, it will be at the bottom of the ravine. They'll say he fell, broke damn near every bone in his body.. then the wolves must have gotten him. I know, because I'm that wolf, Jaime. You can't tell anyone it was me. You think I'm crazy now.. sure. I would too, but look at that shirt and you'll see it's the one he was wearing. These are his jeans and I can tell you they're too small. His wallet... go ahead and look if you need to. He wasn't the first and as long as you stay away, he won't be the last. I want him to be the last, Jaime. You need to be with me."
Her head felt like it was spinning just trying to keep up with him, nevermind how much he actually told her right then. She stared at him for a long while, not saying anything and then glancing down at the shirt and wallet in her hands. The shirt was torn and bloody but Essy didn't have a mark on him, her eyes shifted to him and over his perfect torso to confirm that fact. She looked back to the shirt in her hands, shifting it to look at it better - it was the one her date had been wearing. Many questions formed but she wasn't sure what to ask him or which to ask first, some answered themselves as she went back over what he told her. The scary part was that it made sense to her. "What do you mean.. he wasn't the first and if I stay away.. he won't be the last?" She bit at her lip and looked him in the eye. "Do you mean there were others... because of me?"
He reached up to her cheek and leaned to kiss her softly, though briefly, brushing his thumb across her cheek as he let go. "Not anymore. They just... disappeared, didn't they? Yes, because of you. Because I'm looking down the barrel of eternity and I'm not going through it without you."
She kissed him back when he leaned in for the brief and soft kiss, she almost smiled as she gazed up at him. "I don't understand.. if you love me that much to.. make others disappear, then why did you say no when I asked you to run off with me?"
"Because of what I am. I needed to be sure and you needed to be ready. I think you're ready and I don't want you to go home tonight," he said, ideas spinning in his mind as she seemed to listen and maybe believe him about the rest. "They didn't just disappear. They're never coming back."
Jaime nodded her head slowly, she understood what he implied even if she didn't have specific details about the ones who were not coming back. "I should probably feel bad about that... about them, but I don't." She looked away, she was pouting a bit and gently playing with her lower lip in her teeth. "I think I'm more upset that you didn't trust me enough to tell me or to know and be sure of me... before tonight."
"Marry me and I'll make it up to you," he said, hoping he wasn't foolish to ask and watch her walk away again. "Don't go home tonight. You want me to run away with you still? Let's go tonight."
His first comment made her breath catch and she slowly turned her gaze back to him, smiling just a little. She'd asked him before and he'd refused her, she considered doing the same to him to let him feel how horrible it felt. She loved him too much to even pretend it wasn't what she wanted, but she still slammed the rumpled shirt, her shoes and the wallet into his chest. "You need to get rid of these..." She stepped forward with the pile held against his chest, leaning up over it to kiss him softly. "I'm not going home.. I'm going with you."

He let go of the items, letting them fall wherever they would to pull her close. "Where does the soon to be Mrs Moore want to go once she's married?"
Her smile grew more playful as she reached to wrap her arms around his shoulders. "To bed with her husband." She replied, not really caring where they went as long as they were together.
"I have it on good authority her husband is going to agree with that location. He might even stay there a few weeks. Where's the church? We're doing this tonight if I have to threaten to eat the minister to marry us right now."
She giggled and made a little hop to get a better grip on his shoulders to lift her feet from the ground as she burried her face to his neck. "It sounds perfect to me.. and like a very good start on making it up to me." She pointed with one arm as she held onto him with the other. "The church is that way."
"Mmm.. not like this, not yet unless you want me to ruin you right here... right now. Maybe want is the wrong word to use. Climb on my back and hold on," he said, ready to run in the direction she pointed. He'd carry her the whole way.
She didn't give him a hard time about this, since she fully believed he would do just as he warned and she wanted to wait till they were properly married. Jaime kissed his cheek and let go to drop her feet down to the ground again before moving behind him and hopping on to ride piggyback. Her arms looped around his neck and down in front of his shoulders and her legs curled around his waist. "If you get tired and need me to walk, let me know." She didn't expect him to carry her the whole way to the church.
"Trust me," he suggested, a little bit of tease and a lot of hope as he started off with her at an easy pace first, growing faster as he cut through the darkness out of view of the road, much faster than most ran carrying nothing at all.
She kept her head tilted down a little to keep from getting swatted in the face with low branches as Essy ran with her on his back. He moved faster than anyone she'd ever known before and he didn't even seem bothered by carrying her. She peeked over his shoulder to watch things fly by them, feeling exhilerated and she wasn't even the one running. There shouldn't have been any doubt that she trusted him as she held onto him, besides the fact that she'd agreed to come with him after he'd told her what he did to her date.
The churchyard came into view and he slowed down, uncertain who might be around in the dark. He knew the minister of her family's congregration lived nearby and maybe she knew exactly where. "Alright. Time to walk," he said, coming to a stop and he was barely breathing hard. "And time to wake the good man. Where does he live?"
He'd carried her much farther than she'd expected and she realized that she shouldn't expect anything since she didn't really know enough to make any kind of accurate conclusion about things. "Okay." She gently climbed off his back, lightly landing her feet on the cool ground. Thankfully it was summer so it wasn't terribly cold. "He lives there." She pointed to a small house next to the church, she reached for Essy's hand to keep him a moment. "We don't have rings.. don't we need them?"
Normally, but they also needed a witness and all that for the traditional type of wedding. Well, he wasn't a traditional boy and he had been convinced for years she was just as unconventional as himself. He searched for a reasonable solution, looking around the church yard and the small house beside it. "We'll have them shortly, not to worry. Just a little bit used, is all. C'mon."
She smiled and nodded in agreement to his solution even though he didn't say where the rings would come from, she was happy to know they'd have them. She laced her fingers with him and took a step to follow where he would lead them. She assumed to wake up the minister, she was eager and excited but not at all frightened about marrying Essy. She wondered where they would go after they were married but didn't ask, he had asked her where she wanted to go and she'd told him.. but the location of that bed was unknown.

He didn't want to run and drag her behind him. Essex kept moving fast, though, ducking into the shadow of the front porch. "Ministers don't believe in the bad in people, right?" He tried the door, expecting a simple lock at most to hold it tight against the usual sort of ruffian that rifled homes for Christmas presents and bank account numbers. He turned the handle harder and somewhere inside the chamber of pins and levers in the latch, something strained and snapped, turning past its stoppered point into the hollow of the door. Another latch above it held the door against a chain that jerked into place as he tried to swing it open. "Hm, I might have sold the old guy short. Wait til he meets me," he laughed in a whisper before ramming his shoulder into the frame, cracking the chain from wood and plaster on the other side, allowing the door to swing free.
"You know he probably would have come to the door and opened it if, you had knocked." She pointed out with a playful smile, wondering if he was showing off a little for her. She didn't mind if he was, because it was working to impress her more which was shown as she leaned in and kissed Essy's cheek softly.
"At this hour with no shirt? I think he's probably a smart man and wouldn't," he pointed out, though his logic was flawed by his own lack of faith that the man would be sworn to help and provide charity to any who came at any hour. He liked his way better and appreciated the results even more. "I can't wait to see the look on his face," he said, almost laughing giddily as he looked around the front room and started for the stairs. A few items caught his eye and he pointed them out to her on the dining table. The brightly polished gold spoons were tiny and looked perfect for what he had in mind. Perhaps meant to feed infants or spoon sugar, tonight they were for his sweet baby. "Aww. How nice of them to give us wedding presents, even. Grab those and anything else you like. He won't miss any of them, I promise."
He wanted spoons? Now she was really confused and her expression might reflect that but she shrugged and went to collect the spoons for him. She didn't want to ask what he wanted them for and make herself look stupid or something. She didn't grab anything else, only what he'd asked for, why would she want to take things from the minister's house?
"Let me see those and let me have your hand a second," he suggested, holding his hand out for the gold and not holding his voice down quietly as he had been.
Her lips twitched and she almost asked why but didn't, instead she held out the spoons and her hand for him to do... whatever with. She was watching him in the darkened room, the way the shadows played across his face and shoulders. He was even more handsome than when they had first met.. something about him making her heart skip a beat.
He grinned up at her a little crookedly, taking one of the spoons and starting to curl its dainty handle into a loop. He set the loop over the top of her finger to see how much smaller to make it for this. Smaller, definitely, he said to himself, bending the metal in his warm fingers until it quickly fashioned in a rough cork-screw, the bowl of the spoon intended to rest on the back of her hand for now like a large jewel - one he would one day give her, but for now it was only shiny, smooth and plain. "Try that on for me and I'll have mine in a moment. Then we're only minus a minister and few big words in a big empty room. Then.. you're completely mine forever."
She was excited about the next part of things when they would actually get married, she eagerly slipped the ring he'd made onto her finger, smiling at how it fit. "It's just right." She whispered, her soft smile shone adoringly, lighting up her eyes as she held her hand up to show him.
"Almost. No diamonds, but there will be plenty of time to get you those. I promise. Let's get us our holy man and a minute of his time. I'm getting hungry and if we don't hurry...," he chuckled a little, letting her think what she would as he turned to head up the stairs.

"What are you doing in my house?!" The minister was awake and at the top of the stairs in pyjamas and an undershirt, sporting a shot gun he kept aimed at the floor until Essex started toward him.
"Didn't you already eat..." Jaime started, thinking of what he'd said about her date and reaching for Essy's hand to follow him. The voice of the minister and the glance up to see the shotgun had her fingers tightening on Essy's hand. She didn't know enough yet to know what was effective and what wasn't, a shotgun would certainly work on her.
"Oh come on now, you don't want to use that. That would be murder," Essex explained as he stopped and gauged carefully. He hoped the man would be true enough to his faith not to take another man's life. He wasn't so faithful, however and he let go of Jaime's hand, lunging foward to grab the rifle and spin the man to the wall. "Or suicide," he warned, the wolf within him peeking out through a reddish gaze as he held his arm across the man's chest.
The man was more startled and stunned with fear than angry now, looking to the girl for help or understanding. "The lord frowns on both, m-my son, but also on s-stealing. Please. Take what you will and go. Don't harm me."
Jaime gasped, watching how fast Essy moved, she was more impressed than frightened now and looked up at how he stood holding the other man. It seemed so effortless, she'd never thought he was weak but had never known how strong he really was. She bit her lower lip, her gaze still adoring and her eyes dancing with excitement. "We want to get married."
Essex acknowledged her with a grin as he stared the man down. "Looks like what we want to take with us and go is you. We want to do it properly, but we're not waiting for morning. Better put your shoes on, though. Might stub your toe. We don't want to hurt you."
"M-married? Now? It's ten o'clock. School's tomorrow. Y-you should be home in bed, young lady," the man protested, not wanting to go anywhere with them.
"Yes, married.. and now." Jaime's smile melted into a frown at his reply and she folded her arms over her middle, she was kind of glaring at the man now. She was clearly unhappy by his reluctance and by the thought of not getting what she wanted, she wanted to marry Essy and be with him forever. She didn't want to be told she should be home in bed or reminded about school, not that school would matter much once she was married and all. She'd have to concern herself with being a good wife to Essy then and thats exactly what she intended to do.
The monster within him glared out and his features began to melt and change in front of the man. He yanked the shotgun away and held it out to Jaime to hold onto. "You're going to upset her. She wants to be married -NOW!" He shouted into the man's face, his mouth full of razor-like fangs the next moment, grinning through them as he loosened his grip on the man. He reversed the change and appeared himself again in a matter of moments, turning to herd the man down the stairs with or without his shoes or collar or anything else.
The man shrieked and rattled back against the wall with nowhere to run or dodge the teeth that snapped at him as the boy yelled. He had no gun and nothing else to fight with. The boy was too quick, but let him go? No, of course not. Only to walk with them.

Jaime was reluctant to take the gun and seemed even more upset once she was holding it, she touched it as little as possible and held it out away from her perched across her fingers as if she'd rather just drop it. She didn't even look up at the yelling or the shriek that followed, she stared with disgust at the offensive object she was holding and waited, hoping that she'd be able to get rid of it very soon.
He saw how much she disliked the gun, but not because she feared it - she loathed it. He chuckled. "You can leave that here. Just throw it any old place. I think he'll cooperate just fine, hm?" He patted the man's shoulder as he ushered him down the stairs then reached out for Jaime's hand again.
"Good." She put the gun down gently on the table, she didn't want it going off and causing more noise and possible attention to them and what they were doing. She seemed less irritated as soon as the thing was out of her hands, she even smiled at Essy as he reached to take her hand again.
If she had any doubts about what he'd claimed to be, he had her witness and that of the minister, now. It was a shame though. He almost might have liked the man. "He's a good boy, isn't he? Coming along quietly? He better stay nice and quiet until we're in his pretty church. We're following the rules, you know. Something borrowed, a little white, a little red... or is it blue? Something old... that would be me... son," he said, speaking over the man's shoulder, his breath hot against his face. "I could tell you stories that would make your pious little toes curl. Don't do anything dumb, that's all I'm saying. I've been around long enough to know stupid and you're not the kind to do stupid right."
The minister curled from the hot breath and made a face as if its odor was just as off putting. He shuffled along as Essex directed, not daring to cry out. He'd seen the teeth, the demon in the man's eyes and had no doubt a swift death would meet him if he didn't comply.
Jaime tugged on Essy's hand a little, her expression curious once again, though she was still smiling softly at him. "How old are you?" She asked, wondering now that he'd mentioned it in that way, it wouldn't change her wanting to be with him but she thought it was something she should know.
"Old enough to spank your father," he realized proudly, filling his shoulders with a little more confidence still. "And I could still take you to prom and no one would blink an eye."
She giggled at the suggestion that he could spank her father, that was just a silly thing to imagine and she leaned in to kiss his cheek. "Almost makes me sorry we'll miss prom." She shrugged, it only almost made her sorry because what she was getting now was far better than any dance even a fancy one.
"Says who? You can do anything you want, now. Anything at all," he said, planting that seed of whimsy to let her imagination soar. "Well soon, anyway, soon as our boy here gets his feet moving a little faster. We can dance anywhere. Here in town or we can go to Rome and dance with the Pope, or with the Czar of Russia or maybe just go to Portugal and dance on the beach. Anything, Jaime and anywhere."
The 'boy' felt more tired than he'd ever known, his head swimming with fear and with information that went against anything he'd ever known. He listened to Essex' warnings and moved faster, leading them to the front door of the church and unlocking the doors as quickly as he could with his shaking hands.
"Okay." She said quietly, maybe it was because he was a boy that he thought she needed to go somewhere to be happier. She was very happy just being with him, even right here in this town. She didn't need fancy trips or all sorts of far away places and honestly most of the ones he mentioned didn't sound fun at all. Why would a girl like her want to dance with the Pope or the Czar of Russia? The beach did sound nice, that might be more romantic for a honeymoon.

The door here was much heavier and creaked inward, echoing its pain to the rows of pews and the gently arched apex above the stained-glass windows. Essex pushed the minister ahead of them and entered carefully as if a wash of concern, perhaps fear slowed him a moment. He let out a burst of laughter when he was not struck down within the building. He hadn't turned his spoon into a ring for himself yet, he realized and stopped to pull one of the other spoons from his pocket, quickly twisting it. "We're ready," he announced, though he'd need the ring back from Jaime, giving her his in exchange.
The minister was nearly afraid to turn when Essex stopped. His expression fell as he did and watched the heirloom twist and bend like rubber as it was formed into a misshapen coil like the one on the girl's hand. "They were my grandmother's," he bemoaned in a whisper of awe and sadness. He cleared his throat and looked at the strange and terrifying pair. "Do... d-do you have a license?" He was almost afraid to ask them.
Jaime gave her ring to Essy and took his with a soft smile, she bit her lip, showing him how excited she was for this. Her smile faded though and she kept her eyes on Essy as the minister asked them about the license which they didn't have. She licked at her lips and decided it was better if Essy answered this one, since he'd probably have to 'talk' the minister into it.
"What for? She consents, I consent and you're the one with the power to marry us. That's license enough. You have the forms, don't you? Sign one and bring me your pen," he smiled coldly, the red firing behind his eyes again, warning the man not to test him. "I'd be quick about it. Waiting upsets her. I hate to see her upset. It makes me do very... messy... things."
"M- .. messy?" The man seemed to consider something that dampened his fear somewhat. "Alright. I'll .. I'll get the forms. They're in a cupboard in the vestry."
"Yay." She whispered with a delighted smile as the minister agreed and she clasped her hands together, bouncing slightly in place and then unable to contain her joy, she spun in a circle with a giggle. She got herself under control mostly, simply bouncing eagerly as she stood there waiting.
"Well then I suppose we're coming with you. The vestry? Interesting. Charms, prayers, holy water... don't get your hopes up. Those don't work on guys like me. Just get the forms and get us joined," he said, turning to scoop Jamie and her giggles up with a bent arm to escort her properly down the aisle even though they still had the form to sign.
He didn't want to think about there being more like this man out there. His expression fell again as his considerations were countered before they'd even arrived at the altar. The church was small at least and there wasn't a long delay in getting that far. "Ah, I remembered. The Patterson's were here just last week for their nuptials. The folder is still at the lectern," he said nervously, knowing that's where they'd been all along. He stepped around the podium and pulled out the box of files and pulled the folder out with a twitching smile and the sound of a small click. "And a pen."
Jaime curled right into the scoop, smiling and looking happier than Essy would have ever seen her before, her gaze still completely adoring of the man she was about to marry. It appeared his other side didn't scare her or make her love him any less, her arms wrapped around his middle and she rested her head against his chest as they walked to the front of the church. "I'm probably going to have a million questions for you.... later." She giggled and teased him but let him know she wanted to know more about him and what he'd shown so far.
"I'm not one to kiss and tell. I'd rather just show you," he said quietly to her as the man produced the paperwork he'd expected was nowhere near the back room. He kissed the top of her head and reached for the forms and pen, reading over the sheet that seemed so small for something so permanent. He took the pen and filled out the information, signing with a clear and beautiful flourish that was so unlike the ragged and rough man he appeared. "Your turn, then his."

She started to protest what he'd said, to insist that wasn't what she meant but instead she laughed quietly and nudged him a little. "Well you'll have a million things to show me, then." She took the form and quickly filled it in in her neat but graceful hand writing, signing it with less flourish than he did but still. Jaime handed the minister the form and the pen, smiling sweetly at him as if this was the same as any other marriage he'd performed.
"And I will show you them all... eventually." He watched the minister carefully to ensure the paper was completed and not voided. The man signed and produced the seal from the folder, clamping the paper and warping the seal into it. It was official as far as this parish was concerned. "Smart man. Now, the sooner you start, the sooner your discomfort will be all over and our comforts can start."
The man looked more worried now than before. Over in what way, he wondered. He nodded, knowing he could not outrun any of this. "Kneel before the altar, shoulder to shoulder," he began, ushering them to their places. There were many shortcuts and many mistakes, but for all the formalities, they had the most important to complete their marriage in this church and then go about their way. He came to the part of the exchanging of rings and waited briefly for them to place the warped and stolen metal in place and state their vows. To the girl he turned first, "... do you take this man?"
Jaime knelt down next to Essy and listened as the minister went through the motions of marrying them, it got to the part of the rings and she trembled with anticipation. Her eyes full of warmth for the man she was promising herself to as she firmly answered in her soft sweet voice. "I do."
He grinned, his eyes on fire but not from the demon wolf within him. As the minister turned the words to him he almost didn't want to let go to place the ring he'd made her around her finger. He did and the metal slipped in place. "I always have. I do."
The minister completed the pronouncement and declaration of completion under the sanctity and blessing of the church however forced it had been. "She is your bride," he glanced at the sheet, his face again twisting oddly with a shudder of uncomfortable recognition. "Mister Moore."
Jaime heard the words and her smile was awed as she gazed at Essy, she was his wife now, and he was her husband. Now they would be together forever and no one could say they couldn't be. She gazed into Essy's eyes, feeling drawn in by the fire she saw in them.
"Now, you can do whatever you please," he laughed, leaning to kiss the bride with more fire than he'd ever dared. She knew more now and maybe understood. He kept his attention partially on the minister, however, expecting him to try and leave before he was completely done with him.
The kiss was more intense than any other they had shared, she felt dizzy from it but didn't want it to end, her arms wrapped around his shoulders. She was kissing him back much more boldly than she'd ever dared before, never wanting him to think she would be easy or to get the wrong impression. Now they were married and she didn't have to tell him no or make him wait.. Her eyes were closed and she wasn't paying any attention to the minister.
The man was backing away from them as they completed their ceremony, hoping the moment of distraction would gain him some safety to run from them.

Essex paused in the kiss, pulling away with his eyes tracking the man a moment as he skirted around them and tried to leave. He put his finger to her lips a 'shh' as as he peeled away and grabbed their certificate, giving it to her. "Keep this safe," he said before moving after the man, tackling him before he was out the door. The jeans he'd worn were tatters on the floor of the aisle now, two more gold spoons laying near them. Essex had no need for any of them, his form large and hunched, sleek with a sandy fur like his own head of short hair, though it was no man hovering over the detained minister now.
She kissed Essy's finger as he shushed her, though she stayed quiet and sweetly waited for him to chase down the minister as he tried to run off. She held their marriage certificate, admiring it for a moment before lifting her gaze. She let out a gasp and her eyes went wide, yet it was only in surprise and awe, there was no fear in her expression. "Oh my..." He was amazing and she hardly noticed the frightened minister beneath him.
The man wouldn't speak of this to anyone and the certificate was in hand. Essex left the torn man on the floor and turned to look at Jaime to ensure she was not horrified now, or herself wishing to run from him despite the paper she held. He saw none of this in her expression as he transformed before her. She had a few questions answered already, and now probably had so many more. He rolled the corpse of the man over and slipped the shirt and baggy pyjamas off him to put on himself for now. He picked up the spoons and cleaned their finger prints off of them before tossing them down at the minister's feet. The pen was cleaned as well, left on the floor to be forgotten then he came back to Jaime's side, his chin still bloodied though he offered to continue their kiss.
She held their marriage certificate out to the side as he came back to her, not wanting it to get wrinkled or messed up. Her eyes rolled over him as he changed and walked up to her, she was curious and uncertain about many things but still her eyes were warm and adoring. She accepted his kiss, feeling and tasting the blood against her lips, she didn't pull away or act disgusted by him - in fact she leaned up to kiss him just as passionately as she had after they said 'I do'.
He held her there on the altar steps in his embrace for while before something new caught his attention and pulled from the kiss, looking toward the open door. Night breezes caught the scent of scavengers that were coming to find the man on the floor. Before long, others would be looking for him, finding his front door broken in and the rifle cast aside, set carefully down and no other signs of struggle until they'd find him here. "We need to go. I'm packed. Anything you need?"
"Alright.. where are we going.. first?" She wasn't sure if she needed anything and honestly there probably wasn't anything here that she needed and didn't already have. She had the certificate and him.. "I don't think I need anything. I have this and you." She lifted her hand holding the paper and smiled up at him.
"I don't suppose you have any money tonight for the hotel? I dropped your date's wallet, remember? Mine's... in my other pants," he chuckled. "Though, it's a warm night, we've got the stars and the shadows. I'm happy with anything."
"I do have some money.. I don't have any idea how much a hotel costs." She admitted with a soft blush and glanced toward the open doors. "We can't go back to your place? I mean.. you stay somewhere.. don't you?" She bit at her lip and slipped her arm around his waist. "I wouldn't protest being outside if you know some place we won't be disturbed and if we can find a blanket."
His place? Their place... ! He didn't need to be afraid to show her now. She knew, she'd understand. The ideas began forming. Where he lived he was hardly ever bothered and the neighbors never stayed long.. and no one ever really knew what happened to them, either. He smiled and agreed. "Our place, Misses Moore."
Jaime's eyes light up and she bounced up against him, wrapping one arm around his shoulders to bring her kiss to his mouth. "I've never heard anything more wonderful.. except you saying I do." She reached up to wipe her chin where the blood from his mouth smeared. "Is it always this messy?"

He laughed at how excited she was, so far from how angry she'd been with him only an hour before. He shook his head. "Only when I'm in a hurry to get to more important things. Right now, we're both in a hurry. We need to leave before someone finds us here. He had his keys at the door. Do you think he has a car?"
"It's usually behind the church in the lot where we park when we come for Sunday services." She pointed in the general direction and felt the weight of the ring he'd made her on her hand. It made it all more real and her even happier to be with him. "I'm ready to go whenever you are."
He rose and reached to help her up. "Want to sit on my lap while I drive?" His eyebrow wiggled with the challenge. They didn't have far to go but he didn't want to carry her and didn't want to waste his energy on running when he'd just transformed so recently.
She giggled at his suggestion but nodded her head to agree to the idea. She felt giddy and energized and if they didn't hurry up and get home she wasn't going to be able contain herself long enough for them to get where they needed to be.
"Come on then, slowpoke," he teased, tugging her gently toward the door to grab the keys and take the dead man's car. The large sedan had a long bench seat tempting enough to just keep her there with him all night but if someone found the old man, they'd be looking for this car. He got in first. "Alright, climb on in and sit wherever's comfortable.
"Hey!" She giggled and chased after him as he called her a slowpoke, which compared to him, she was. She climbed into the car after him and slid right up next to him, rather than keeping an 'appropriate space' between them. She was tempted to climb in his lap as he'd suggested but wasn't sure if he'd be able to drive with her and her skirts over him.
He laughed as she slid close but not quite into his lap. "Fine, you'll just have to wait til I get you in the door, then I'm not letting go," he said, taking the car out of the spot it seemed to have been rusting in with a billow of smoke and dust. He didn't have far to go, turning less than two miles down the road into a ramshackle complex with more windows broken out than still had full glass.
She took a chance and set her hand lightly over his knee as the drove, the trip was not long and they turned, her eyes swept over the building with broken out windows. She lived in a nice neighborhood in a nice house, yet she didn't seem to judge this place. She was open to the new life she was starting with Essy and she smiled, excited to see her new home. "I never realized you lived this close.. you've never taken me to your home before... our home now."
He pulled into one of several open spots and gave her a strange look. "Would you have come here?" He chuckled, looking over the building. "Nobody bothers me here and the walls are good and solid. The water tastes a little funny but it hasn't killed me yet. You don't hate it?"
"Of course I would have come.. silly." She started the comment with a smile but was pouting now and searching his face. "You really didn't... believe in me.. did you? Huh.. and you were all worried I wouldn't believe you.." She folded her arms and narrowed her eyes on him. "I do believe you promised to make that up to me once I married you. How are you going to start?" Her eyes sparkled with the tease, her upset short lived for now. It did hurt her that he hadn't had faith in her but he'd changed his mind on that and now they were together. "What's our bedroom look like?"
"What's it matter? I won't be looking at it, I'll be looking at you. Room for two, or one very large and tired wolf sometimes. It's clean, just the bed's not ever made. Call me a rebel. C'mon, let's go and you can get the shock overwith."

"Aww Essy, you're so sweet to me." She kissed his cheek, giggling softly. "After everything you've shown me.. what do you have in there that will shock me.. more?" She asked with a smile, waiting for him to get out so she could slide out after him.
"Mmm... I'm sure I'll come up with something," he teased, climbing out and helping her get out to follow. He sighed. The car was going to be a problem. "I'll need to get rid of it. Too bad really, nice car, but.. oh well. Let's get in first and get you comfortable." He motioned to the door, leading her up the walk.
She blushed at the thoughts she had when he said he would think of something, it wasn't the first time she'd had such thoughts about him but for the first time she felt like they might become reality. Her hand clasped his as she crawled out of the car, her other hand pulling her skirt straight again. She glanced back at the car and then to him, putting her hand against his chest. She was worried about him getting in trouble or getting hurt, even though she'd witnessed his strength and speed and his fierce form.. it was because she loved him that she worried, afraid of losing him.
He grinned again when she leaned into him, reading more in her face than she may have realized. "You're even more cute when you can't deny that I scare the skirt right off you sometimes. I can smell it, Jaime... fear... worry... I'll be fine. More than I can say for that clunker." He looked around the lot and the quiet road. One thing he didn't hear and didn't sense was any sort of panic. They hadn't found the man yet, he gathered.
"You can smell it?" She curled closer to him, he was right she was scared but she had to trust that he knew what he was doing. "I just don't want to lose you.. I got a taste of what life would feel like without when we broke up.. I really didn't like it." She sighed and shook her head. "And for as much as I know now, there is so much that I don't.. I'm you're wife, I'm supposed to worry about you." She countered, smiling more now as she shifted to try to rest her head against his shoulder.
"Oh, I'm not going to stop you, I'm just going to tell you really don't need to worry." He curled down to kiss her hair again. "C'mon. Inside before I get you back in the front seat right here."
"Alright, as long as you know I'll worry anyway." She was ready and just waiting for him to lead the way inside so his comment made her chuckle. "I'm just waiting for you.. you kind of have to lead the way and show me around. I haven't been here before."
He rolled his eyes and nudged her along. "Sure, blame it on me, Pokey," he sighed playfully, pulling open the outside door that no longer had a lock on it, and leading down a narrow hall to the last apartment in the corner. He reached into the cracked recess above the door and slid out the wedged key. "Happens a lot - losing my pants, my keys...," he shrugged, unlocking the door to her new world.
She chuckled softly and went inside with him, she watched as he pulled the key out when they got to the last apartment and she nodded to his explaination - it all made sense with what she'd seen so far. "I guess it does.." She bit her lip, as excited to see her new home as if he was showing her a mansion because this is where they would live together.
The place was cleaner than the rest of the building seemed and didn't have a lot to furnish it. A radio sat on the table by the window and a lone skillet sat cock-eyed off the burner on the stove. A small couch seemed to curl itself into the corner and the room with the door partly closed had a shirt hanging on the knob. He looked down at the borrowed clothing he had and considered changing, thinking better of that and just getting rid of these things when he ditched the car. He pointed to the room with the shirt on the door. "Through there is where I will make up to you everything I have ever done to upset you. Everything.. as soon as I get back. I won't be gone long, I promise."

She leaned a little to look at the room he indicated but not too much. His next words pulled her back to stare at him wide eyed. He was leaving!? She took a deep breath and reminded herself that he had to get rid of the car they'd 'borrowed' and that he'd be fine. She took another deep breath and let her expression relax to something more normal. "Do you have someplace safe to put this?" She asked about their marriage certificate, wanting to take care of that right away.
"The cupboard beside the sink. There's nothing else in there. Then you can do anything else you want. It will be just a few minutes. I'll miss you crazy while I'm gone," he admitted, getting antsy himself with her worry and anticipation bending his thoughts.
"Alright." She smiled for him, not wanting him to go but knowing he had to in order to keep them safe from anyone discovering the minister's car here. Jaime leaned in to kiss him softly, quickly so that he could go on his way.
The kiss was almost too tempting. He bit his lip, savoring the taste of it as he slipped back toward the door. "Remember, I don't have neighbors, at least not right next door," he grinned guiltily. "Don't worry about making noise. I don't."
She made little shooing motions with her hands and grinned at him. "I'll be fine.. I'll keep myself entertained till you get back. Now go on.. do what you need to do and get back. Our wedding night is wasting away." She gave him a wink to let him know she was teasing him and in good spirits.
He wondered how she intended to entertain herself, keeping that thought in his smile as he turned to leave.
The car was easily disposed of from the top of the hill. He simply slipped the old girl out of gear and closed the door. A small push later and she was clattering brakeless on her own down the hill, leaving the road at the bend and hurtling into the trees beyond. The pyjamas and shirt were left on the seat and he was left bare again, folding himself down toward the ground and bounding off through the shortcut from the woodsy alcove on all fours this time, racing to return to Jaime's side.
His nose pushed through the unlocked door at the front and by the time he was at the end of the hall, he turned the knob with his hand and checked over the door to make sure he'd put the key back. He walked inside shamelessly bare, stretching himself against stiffness and aches that shifted to different places as he took a deep breath full of Jaime's presence.
As Essy headed out the door Jaime went into the kitchen to put the paper away in the cupboard, closing it safely in there for now. Even though this was now her home, it was a strange place and she wasn't sure what to do with herself. She made her way into the bedroom to explore, seeing the unmade bed and smiling with the idea she had. It only took a few tugs and flicks to straighten the covers out. The bed wasn't exactly 'made' but was neater and waiting for them to slip into it. Jaime was surprisingly nervous about that and without Essy here to distract her it was hard not to think about it. She slipped her shoes off by the door and found a couple of empty hangers to put her sweater, shirt, and skirt on after she slipped them off. Biting her lower lip, she took off the rest and put them in a neat pile on top of the dresser. She pulled her hair free of the ponytail and fluffed it out with her fingers. Essy said he wouldn't be gone long and so she slid beneath the covers on the bed, pulling them up around her and hoping he wouldn't mind coming back to find her waiting for him like this. She heard the door and took in a deep breath, her heart beating faster as she listened to him move into the apartment.
He locked the front door and shut out the lights, moving slowly to the bedroom, listening and smelling the air. He took a deep breath with a wide and satisfied smile, pushing the door open to find her there in his bed, snuggled in and covered. He came to the bedside where she could see every inch of his bare form in the moonlight. He leaned over her to kiss her as he moved the covers away.
She looked at him as he came up close, her blush darkening her cheeks but she didn't shy away. Her, until now, innocent eyes seemed to darken with desires that were being stirred up by him. Her lips parted to take the kiss and her fingers let go of the covers she'd been clutching as she started to push herself up toward him.

She rose up to meet him and he chuckled under the kiss, luring her into his arms as he moved back and pulled the covers off her more. Although less and less between them, there was one tremendous thing that still made this incomplete and it was highlighted by her questions and curiosity. She'd always known he was no ordinary boy and now she knew why and she deserved to know everything now that she was part of his life in the way he'd always dreamed. He nibbled at her with the kisses and shifted the blankets away completely, leaving her only himself to keep her warm for now. He nibbled at her kiss again and let go. "I have answers for you... do you want them first or after?"
At first she couldn't answer him, her cheeks a deep red and her eyes slightly widened as she stared at him, feeling extremely embarassed. "I.. ah.." She started, nervously stumbling over her words and looking away for a moment to blink the slight sting of tears away. "It's up to you.." She tried to tell herself she was being silly for feeling rejected because he wanted to talk after finding her waiting for him, naked, and in his bed.. but she couldn't help feeling that way. "I guess we should.. since it's bothering you enough to bring it up now.." One arm curled over her and the other searched for the covers he'd pulled away so she could hide beneath them.
He grasped her hands to keep her from covering herself, kissing her shoulder and her neck. "Only because it's important and if it's the difference between loving you and hurting you... I want it to be perfect for you," he whispered, gently licking her skin.
Jaime gasped softly as he kissed her shoulder and neck, her eyes fluttering closed for a moment. She couldn't imagine him hurting her, even after seeing him in action tonight, she smiled faintly and gave a slight nod of her head. She opened her eyes to gaze up at him, searching his face and giving another nod. "Alright."
"Short and sweet. I want to make you what I am, Jaime. I won't lie to you. The second most painful thing I've ever endured is becoming what I am. The first and worst has been losing those closest to me because they changed and I never have, at least not very much. I have you now and when I said forever, I meant it," he suggested, still licking her neck between tender nibbles.
"You can make me like you.." She was quiet for several long moments, her arms shifting to hold him, her hands running gently over his back. ".. it hurts alot.. " She sighed softly, biting at her lower lip though nearly smiling because of his attention to her neck. "How long does it take?"
"I've never bitten anyone I let live to know for sure," he explained, nervous a little that something might go wrong, yet confident she was strong enough to endure anything with him. "I was alone and out of my mind almost two weeks before I knew what was happening to me. The bite went away almost overnight, but the changes... I mean I'd been bitten by dogs before and those? Those took months and scarred and hurt all the time, but this wasn't like that. And where are my scars now, hm? Amost makes up for the pain ... and the hunger, my god Jaime, the hunger was insane. But, you have me to take care of you. You won't be alone like I was."
She couldn't deny being scared of what he was telling her, the process of change sounded painful and frightening. "The hunger? .. and two weeks of .. what?" She licked at her lips and curled her arms more tightly around him. "It takes two weeks to change? Will I be in pain and.. crazy and hungry all that time?"
He shook his head, holding her in reassurance. "No, it took me two weeks to understand, but it was the next morning when the worst was over. I think it can happen without being painful, at least not that much, Jaime. I had to figure it all out for myself and back then it wasn't like I could just up to the drive in and wait for dinner to roll out on a tray. You may be hungry from it, but you have me to teach you and help you."
"Will you wait till.. I mean.. can we..?" She gently motioned between them asking about their wedding night and not wanting to miss out or ruin it for him. "Or.. would it be better if I'm like you before we... "
"Don't have to wait. Don't want to wait, but I don't want to wait for you to have this power, either," he sighed, kissing over her neck a little more before facing her. "That's where the love and hurt come in. Either way there's pain, but less if you have this strength."

She smiled up at him, her hand lifting to his cheek as she laughed softly. "I love you Essy and I want to make you happy... I want to be with you always and if you think it would be better to do this first, then that's what we'll do." Her thumb brushed over his lower lip gently. "So.. bite me."
He did nip her thumb a little, watching her carefully. The only time she'd ever lied to him was when he'd denied her this knowledge and told her 'no' and she'd said she hated him. He could sense everything but that now and the scent on her skin was almost too enticing to want to wait. The excitement for her agreement was stronger and he let out a giddy laugh, reaching around her to tumble her back to the pillows and feel her against him. "Both at the same time," he decided gleefully.
She tumbled back the short distance to the pillows, holding onto him gently and feeling his form pressed against her. Her hands glided down over his arms, feeling the muscles beneath her finger tips, his laughter prompted a small nervous giggle from her. "Both at the same time?" She looked up at him with no protest in her tone or her eyes, willing to try whatever he had in mind and trusting him completely.
He laughed again and nodded, diving at her with a rougher kiss than before. He figured that any pain would be forgotten if he did this just right. When he'd been bitten it was the result of a fight, being in the wrong place at the wrong time and losing. He'd been changed into this and left as a joke to die slowly, though he didn't and he was not going to let her suffer as he did. He slicked his hands over her, then nestled against her, feeling her hands on his arms and her giggle fading away in the kiss.
She made a slight quiet noise of surprise as he dove and she recieved the rougher kiss, she reached to the back of his neck to keep him close and continue the sensation. He was muscular and she was more petite, she could feel him pressed against her and it excited her more. She'd always wanted him, ever since that day he'd pulled her into a kiss after she punched him in the mouth... now she wanted him more than she'd ever wanted anything. To be with him, to be like him and to feel everything they could share.
"Welcome to my life, Mrs Moore," he whispered, taking her as gently as possible and making up to her every promise he'd made so far. He gasped as their world became so very real to him and her words echoed back to him... bite... He did, gently grasping her neck where he'd licked and numbed it slightly... not too hard, he repeated in his mind as he held her.
She sighed at his words, smiling sweetly up at him as he called her Mrs. Moore, the sound of him saying her name that way - his wife- was a beautiful sound. She gasped as he took her, her fingers clutching at his arms and then a soft sound as he bit her neck. It didn't hurt as much as she thought it might, at least not yet, it was more of a pressure than sharp pain. "Essy.." She sighed out, encouraging him in both his actions.
He'd been hungry in so many ways watching her tonight. He was hardly saited by the tidbit that had been her excuse as a replacement for him and had very little meat on him. The minister he'd left behind hadn't earned enough of his anger to be shredded and it was better that he wasn't. The man had died more from his own fear and the sudden fall than the bite marks that seemed hardly more than scratches and would be hard to distinguish from anything he might have suffered from being struck down by a random thief. Essex reminded himself again not to bite too hard or too deep, only until her blood flowed from a ragged enough edge to stay open and absorb his toxic longevity into her own veins. Some said it was the bite alone, but if that were true, so many would be prowling the streets thanks to his 'bite alone'. Her caress everywhere over him prompted him to consider hard and deep in ways other than his bite. She spoke his name in such a way his thoughts spiraled outward away from control and he curled tightly against her, within her, his teeth tearing slightly more into her skin, her blood tingling over his tongue as it changed first in his mouth and slowly worked back into the wounds.
She cried out softly again, a combination of pleasure and pain from his movements, her fingers dug into his arms, her eyes closed tightly now. Her neck was starting to burn, it wasn't so much pain as feeling the 'poison' working it's way into her. She gasped, starting to writhe beneath him, her legs moving and curling restlessly along his and up around his hips. Her movements caused her neck to be torn more where he gripped and at the same time it moved in other ways and she moaned, caught somewhere between torture and bliss.. it was strange and thrilling.

Her movements helped him to deepen the gash, ensuring it was not closing until he wanted it to, yet the blood did not course out from the mark as he left it open to the cooler air to enjoy her kiss again with his messily crimson-stained mouth. The blood appeared to move and writhe as she did, shrieking back from the change as it first turned black then softened to a healthy bright red and settled into the wound like a quiet lake. He wanted her kiss and to feel more of her writhing from the burn in her shoulder and his attentions he focused on to thrill and relax her to keep her mind from the pain. It was hard to concentrate on anything but the burning that was slowly spreading from the wound on her neck, she kissed him back tasting the strange tange of the blood on his mouth. She pulled back and stared up at him, her tongue dabbing at her own lips before she yanked him back down to an empassioned kiss and cleaned his mouth of her blood. Essex was happily surprised. When she'd pulled away from him, he feared she might have been fading into some unconscious state or that she was going to scream out from the discomfort, not take his kiss with demand. Her reward was his own demand to feel her total fulfillment and release in his care. Her heart's racing would speed the change as well and soon... He hummed, overjoyed and consumed with that desire to drive her completely into bliss. She dug and clawed at him, her mouth hungrily clinging to his, was it possible this was the hunger he'd spoken of? She wasn't sure it was the same but she felt it coursing through her, making her move with him and tug him when she wanted to feel a sensation again or more. It was good that she was laying down because she felt dizzy, but she didn't want him to stop doing what he was doing to her. The poison was seeping deeper and more quickly into her system and seemed to burn in her gaze and it intesified. "Essy.." Her breath was ragged and her voice husky as she spoke his name, demanding more of what he was doing. He let go of all control as her voice told him her urgency, her need to have everything he could and would give her. Essex snuggled into the clawing and and clinging, seeking their sensations as much as those where she surrounded him more tightly, nearly bringing himself to eruption but waiting for that glorious moment. His own movements were become furious and insistent as his mouth covered over the wound again, biting down within it for fresh blood, assurance that the transition would take hold and also begin the healing as he stroked his tongue across the raw edge. Jaime nearly screamed as he bit into her neck again, at the same time her thighs tensed and she clawed into his arms and back, ripping his skin with her nails. His furious insistant motions drove her over the edge and she experienced the most intense sensation which rippled through her. She felt faint and sank back into the pillows, just letting the waves roll over her, soft whimpers and sighs parting her lips as he lapped over the wound. Perfect, he shuddered, laughing again as he felt the rips in his own skin under her nails and the pulsing heat they brought forth to soothe her. She laid back, overwhelmed it seemed, though he continued to stroke against her softly, letting his own pulsing subside as he cleaned the bite and sealed it from further stinging. His lapping slowly moved over her neck and everywhere in reach with tender attention as she relaxed. Jaime felt limp, exhausted, strangely numb, but not at all bad, it was almost like floating on a cloud of bliss. She couldn't move and didn't really want to as Essy shifted to lap over her skin, it relaxed her more and her eyes started to blink heavily, staying closed longer and longer. "Mmm.. Essy.." She murmured softly, her fingers curling though her grip light, she wanted him to come cuddle with her as she started to drift off. "I'll love you forever, Jaime," he whispered to her with a kiss and nibble at her ear as he let her begin to drift to sleep. He shifted a bit to lay more beside her now and pull up the covers they'd shed, wanting her as warm and comfortable as possible. He continued to heal the marks so they would be nearly gone by morning. Fade to Black .... End Scene
