March 8, 2009 7:45pm The Mall
Her pile near the register of this shop was of a decent size and there were bags from other shops heaped in her car already, one arm held more items she'd picked out as she continued to browse. She kept up her prissy -could give a shit- attitude the whole day, resisting the urges to cry and kick things. She dismissed the help quickly and coldly so they wouldn't get close enough to see the shine or struggle of emotion and tears in her eyes. She was furious, frustrated and doing the only thing she could to work out the issues. Juliette didn't notice the time and didn't care about it.. she was on a mission.
"Fifteen minutes, ladies." The voice was slightly accented and sounded more bored than insistent. He didn't care. He wasn't paid by the hour for this gig. The man who spoke was in uniform but not the typical precinct drab of black and blue, rather a sharp pale blue with a black jacket that suggested it was lined for the purpose of avoiding damage from attacking parking meters. He stood idly at the counter, realizing why it was called that as he inspected the piles that were yet to be rung up and counted the heads bobbing between racks. He didnt have to count far... one. He passed that class to know that much at least.
"I'll be done.. when I'm good and done." She growled, not intentionally trying to start a ruckus, but angry and frustrated enough to mouth off.. even if it was supposed to be a thought which she had not realized she'd said out loud. Her eyes sharply scanned the shelf she stood before and she barely sent a cutting glance to the voice that urged her to hurry up.
He looked at the level gaze and turned to the clerk. "Always has to be one, eh? I'll see what I can do. Start ringing her. She'll be done," he was confident, perhaps overly so as he stepped away to assist the girl to her final purchases. She didn't look pregnant enough... or at all... to be in such dire need of the purchases she was making. "Clothing an entire pre-school, mum? Store's open tomorrow again, seeing as it's closed now. Time to go."
"I'm -not- done." She spat the words out slowly and turned dagger filled eyes on the male voice that told her it was time to go. "It's not your business what I'm buying all this for, just that I'm buying it. This store is making enough off this sale to wait a few minutes for me to finish up." Her tone was dismissive and snobby of course -she played her part well. She turned and blinked back the angry tears that welled and fully expected him to be walking away.
He didn't walk away. His expression changed from indifference to concern and he checked carefully to see if there was something else going on here. She didn't seem to be the type to be trying to cut and run without paying and she wasn't drunk. "Excuse me, mum, but is there something the matter? The store closes every night at eight and I'm sure the clerk has her family waiting. D'you mind considering your last purchase so she can go home?"
When she realized he was still there she turned her face the other way for a moment, taking a deep breath to steady herself. "Fine.. whatever.. if they don't want my money and my busines.. so be it.." She turned back in full huff mode, intending to brush past him with attitude and leave the store. She did intend to buy everything she'd gathered first. "This will be the last time I shop here." She grumbled, glaring at the guard and trying to move around him in the aisle with her loaded up arm.
"No reason for that, mum. Let me help you with those," he smiled gently, unfazed by her temper but concerned still about the reason for it. "I'm sure the clerk is grateful for your time. Shouldn't you be a little more grateful for hers? We've ... we've met, haven't we? You're a friend of Laurel... I know I've seen you."
She stopped short of shoving him out of her way when he mentioned Laurel, she took a step back and looked him over. "She's my cousin.. she's a little older than me...." Juliette seemed lost for a moment, glancing around them and then back to the guard as if she suddenly wasn't so sure of herself.
"Small world," he murmured, looking over her face. That had been it. He'd met her a long time ago. "I'm sorry, but I don't forget a face, though I'm awful with names. Ty... a mate of Darian's.. we work together once in a while. Look, I'm sorry for the trouble, but.. d'you mind? Please? There's a lot here to add up."
"Ty.." She repeated his name more softly, her eyes moving up and down and then going back to his face. "It's Juliette.. " Her arms curled her load up towards her as if protecting herself a bit, she nodded and tried to move around him again to go to the register.
"Jules!" He chuckled with the outburst as the name made the memory more clear. "That's it! Of course... sorry. Um, look, please let me help carry those." He offered again though she seemed to be using the pile as a security blanket. He stepped out of the aisle and back toward the counter so she could move.
She found herself smiling a little that he knew and remembered her -to know the nick name used by those close to her. With a small sigh she stopped and held out part of the pile in her arms for him to take. "Thank you." She was polite, still turning her emotions inward and fighting to keep any of it from showing. She smiled to him and then to the girl at the counter, reaching into her purse for her credit card.

*****************************************
He should have expected rain with the fog earlier in the day - just like home. Ty didn't think much of it, just turned up his collar and shrugged deeper into his jacket. Everything was secured and he was locking the last of the doors down for the night, but the lone car in the lot drew his attention. He was sure everyone had left the stores. It wasn't Darian stopping by to give him shit for playing the working stiff on someone else's clock. Then who...? The bolt was double-checked and the location of his radio and his flashlight checked as well as he strolled up to the car carefully to knock on the window, seeing a figure inside beyond the rain spattered glass. "Hallooo... you alright, miss?" Maybe she couldn't hear him with it rolled up.
Half of the purchases she'd made in the store, with all her fussing, had been de-tagged and stuffed into the large donation bin, which was little more than a repainted dumpster. Jules was wet from getting in and out of the car with her piles, the stroller and playpen had taken some effort but they were pushed into the bin as well, now she worked on the bags of blankets and clothes. Somewhere in the last ten minutes she'd broken down and was sobbing into her hands, letting the rain hide and shelter her. The knock on her window made her jump, but she didn't want anyone to see her. It took her a moment to actually turn her head and roll the window down. "Yes..?" She sniffled, wiping at her damp cheeks as she looked up to see the guard from the store. "Ty.." His name came out in more of a gasp than an actual word.
"Looks like rain," he said with a gentle grin, worried about the tears he'd seen earlier actually falling now. "Might be dryer out 'ere, mum. Are you alright?"
He had a very nice smile, one that seemed genuine and caring. Jules found that she liked it alot in the few times he'd shown it to her. "I'm fine." She lied, her voice was a soft murmur -defeated, sad. "I don't mind the rain." She added in a soft and sincere tone.
"Don't mind sitting alone, dangerously I'll add, in a dark lot with a pile of nice things either? 'Fine' wasn't the first word that came to mind just now. Can't say as I'd be glad to see you run off home just now, either. What's with the bin and all your things?" He swung the light to the bin and back. He'd known it was nearly empty when he came on shift. It was a little unusual to see it bursting.
"Maybe.. I didn't think of it that way.." She glanced around the lot, though she couldn't see much with the rain. "Maybe I didn't care.." Her voice was softer and she sighed looking back at him. The gruff and biting tone she'd had when he'd first approached her in the store was long gone. "It's not my stuff.. it's theirs.. I didn't get it for myself.." She shrugged, nodding towards the bin she'd filled, over filled even.
"I see. Does a prescription for the pneumonia medication come with that, too? Jules, you're soaked to the skin, and your coat's in the door. You're obviously in no hurry to head home, but you should have on some dry things. Though, I tend to think that lot's a bit small for you. I don't live far. Leave this here and come warm up?" He offered, wondering if he could help with some cheering as well.
"I.." She just stared up at him with a lost expression for a long moment. It felt like the world was raining down on top of her.. except there he was, holding an umbrella. "My coat is stuck in the door?" She laughed a little and dropped her head against the steering wheel. "Alright.." She agreed quietly to go with him. "What about my car?" She didn't know if she should leave it, try to follow him or offer him a ride. Why was he being nice to her?
"If I don't call it in, it's not a derelict, is it?" He grinned and stepped back from the door so she could get out. "It'll be fine for a few hours, or morning if you want to wait for the rain to stop."
She nodded almost absently as she rummaged around in the piles of clothes until she found her purse. Slipping it over her soulder she pulled her keys from the ignition of the car, rolled up the window and slowly opened the door to get out. "I need to finish putting the stuff in the bin.." She said as if very tired, she was emotionally.
"The pick-up's not until 10 a.m. It can wait or I can help. You're really giving it all away? Hours in there, hours out here and you're not keeping it? Not even for a 'some day'?"
"It was never for me.." She shrugged again, slowly moving around the door towards him. "A some day? ha.. I should worry about a husband or a boyfriend.. or even just having sex at all before I worry about a some day.." She shook her head, not even thinking of how pathetic that made her sound.
He raised an eyebrow at her admission. Now wasn't the time to embarrass her, certainly, but it was time to help piece her back together. "We'll just leave those in there until tomorrow. It's late. I'm tired and I'm sure you are. This uniform - isn't meant for rain," he shrugged, feeling the water roll under the collar and down his back. He grimaced and shuddered at the chill. "Right, so... come on then. Are you a coffee or tea person?"
She locked the door of the car, looking back in at the stuff with a sad smile before closing the door. "I almost wish it was all for me." Jules sighed and turned to him, really getting a good look at him in the rain -all wet and with those eyes that looked at her like she was... something. Her father may have owned the town but most people looked through her or saw her father and his power and money or looked at her like they hated her. The power, the money, the pull.. all the rubbing shoulders with the upper ups.. and she felt like -nothing.. it was all nothing, it didn't mean anything.. it wasn't 'real'. "Do you have anything strong than... coffee?"
"Twice brewed?" His admission was sheepish, but he didn't usually have much to offer being on duty as often as he was. "I might have a few bottles left in the fridge if that'll do. Dar won't miss them. Oh, I know - I do, funnily enough. Is wine alright?"
She leaned against the side of her car, not caring about the rain that was drenching her as she chuckled over his twice brewed comment. "Wine.. yeah.. that sounds nice.. thank you." She was still crying a little, but was trying to ignore it and pass it off as just the rain on her cheeks.
"The car will be fine, I promise. I'm just over here - the kind-of-hard-to-spot dented demon," he pointed to the obvious only other vehicle in the lot. "Not so shiny unless it's raining. Oh look... it is." He chuckled and reached his hand out for her.
She looked from her practically showroom shiny car to his and she smiled, it was so.. real. "See.. the rain isn't so bad.." Her fingers clasped his hand and she stepped towards him, he might notice now that she was still a bit shakey. She put up a good front and face most of the time -she'd learned well how things worked in daddy's world -even for his princess.
He wasn't going to question the quake in her fingertips. "Getting cold out a bit, too. We'll get the chill off." The few steps to the car were guided around the puddles he pointed out with the torch and stopped by the passenger side. He let go to dig for his own keys, making sure he'd stowed the building keys safely in his pocket. "As if there aren't enough locks in the world as it is," he sighed.

She sort of fell and leaned against his shoulder as they stopped by his car and he dug for his keys. Her head nodded to his words and she closed her eyes, waiting for him to get the door open. It was cold but at least the rain was something she could feel.. it was something she could count on.
Ty unlocked the door quickly and creaked it open. The vehicle was as he described, having been hit by its share of dumpsters and other parking-lot mishaps that were his fortune, or mis-, due to his prime parking allowances during working hours. Inside, the vehicle was well kept beyond only a few remnants of debris that indicated a man who didn't eat at home often. "It's not much, but she runs and keeps me out of trouble most days," he said, reaching in to brush the seat off for her.
"It's great, thanks.." She reached to stop him from fussing with the seat and his small mess, she really didn't mind. Despite appearances to the contrary -she wasn't a spoiled snobby princess. "If you want to keep out of trouble.. you better just leave me here... I feel.. like trouble.. right now."
"Oh do you? And what sort of trouble might that be, mum?" He turned a grin at her insistence to stop fussing, finding himself compromised in the small space and nearly face to face. "I ... I'm sorry. Here, I'll let you get in out of the rain."
A smile twitched her lips at how he seemed nervous for a second and she leaned to close the space between them. Her hand touched his cheek at the same time her lips came to his. That was her answer to what sort of trouble she was and to say thank you for his kindness.
"I see. Well... you're not in any hurry, right?" The shock was pleasant and the taste of the light kiss tempting enough to lick off slightly as he slowly backed up. "Buckle up. It's a short ride..." thankfully, he thought silently and wondering more about her.
Her smile curved a little more as her eyes stayed on him as he backed away. Her head shook slowly in responce to his question of being in a hurry. No she was definately in no rush to go home or to get away from him. The tingle of the brief kiss still tickled her lip and helped to keep her from saying anything 'stupid' for the moment. Jules wondered briefly what he was thinking about her kissing him like that.
He held his lip with the lingering taste of salty tears and sweet rainwater, trying not to let the nervous chuckle pull his mind into directions that were definitely not appropriate for a parking lot. He slipped around the car, literally sliding in a puddle and nearly falling as he jogged around to his side to get in. He sat down heavily and rolled his eyes, embarrassed for the moment, but it was fading quickly enough. He glanced over at her as she waited. "Not safe out here for anyone tonight," he smiled, chuckling again as he started the car.
She'd hardly noticed his slip, she was more involved in thoughts of.. she blushed slightly and turned to him with a slight chuckle. "What makes you think it's safe in here?" Her eyebrow arched up and her eyes travelled over his face and damp shoulders.
"Not a thing, actually, except I'm driving and you're over there," he pointed out, trying to remember to breathe. She wasn't the only one who'd felt out of the loop of life's pleasures and his mind was racing over many ideas about such things. Ty did his best to remember to put the car in reverse first or they wouldn't be going anywhere, though he considered that fully as well.
He wasn't discouraging her and she was starting to feel a little more bold. Her lips curved in a teasing smile and she leaned over the space between where she sat and where he did. Her breath was warm over his cheek and neck as she gently bit her lip. Her hand rested on his thigh, part teasing and part just balancing herself. "What if I come over here?"
"Jules... n-not the f-foot on the gas... please," he stammered out, trying hard not to gun the thing and hit something, or worse. He was trying to keep his attention on getting them home, indoors, private and alone, and definitely out of the wet clothes that sent every ripple of her touch that much farther over the fabric.
At first she started to pout, but then realized his saying that wasn't a bad thing -it was because she was affecting him so.. She licked her lips, moving her warm mouth closer to his ear. "Where would you like me to put my hand?" Her hand shifted as if to move off his leg, but head in a more dangerous direction.
"Anywhere you like... o-once I put it in park," he said, his lip quivering between smiling and gasping. This was one night he was truly thankful to live so close to the shops. He was also thankful to have timed green lights on the way.
Her thin top stuck to her skin, soaked easily with the rain and her skirt clung around her thighs, which glistened with the light sheen of dampness, under the passing street lights. She shifted in her seat pushing the material higher as her hand brushed over the dangerous area and passed it to tug at the buttons near his collar. "How soon will you be parking?" Her tongue traced lightly over his ear.
"S-soon," he squeaked out, wanting to curl into the touch on his ear and elsewhere, and pull away to safety so he didn't careen into the side of his apartment as he turned into the lot, somewhat sloppily driving over the edge of the grass and landscaping edge on the corner, the tire squealing briefly in air as they bounced over it.
They bounced and her hand dropped with the movement of the car, grazing over him without intending to this time. Her other hand gripped the side of the seat to steady herself as he brought them into the parking lot. "I'm sorry.. I shouldn't be distracting you." She said it though as she did she blew a warm breath over his ear, still teasing him but easing off enough to let him get the car parked.
"Yes.. n-no, no I mean, no you shouldn't," he said, shakily pulling into one of the few spots, somewhat crooked though it didn't seem to matter being one of only a half dozen cars for what looked only as many tenants in the place. The car stopped and he sat back with a sigh, remembering to put the thing in park only after his foot let off the brake and they started to roll a little.

Jules giggled, her emotions and mood so churned she didn't care about being a 'good little girl' anymore. The rain had soaked her thin top, making it slick against her skin and just about see through because of it's light color. "Is this where you live?" She asked casually, glad the car wasn't moving anymore as she leaned back over. Paying more attention to him than to their surroundings, her breath warm on his ear as she nibbled lightly.
"I have no idea," he gasped out with his eyes closed. "You d-do know what you're doing to me, don't you?"
She kept breathing in his ear, softly and warmly, licking a little as she shifted -starting to climb in his lap.
"Y-yes, I think you do. Carefully... oh god. Help me but don't help me," he chuckled, unclicking the seatbelt as she eased over into his lap. "I've never figured... how your lot can be so... sooo.. " Agile was the word he was looking for though he hardly needed to say it as she demonstrated her ability to avoid the wheel and the horn yet hit every fabulous nerve on the way.
"My lot?" She asked him with a nibble to his sensitive lobe. Her fingers shifted and danced over his lean torso and shoulders. He wasn't some huge no neck guy but he felt strong and firm beneath her touch.
"Girls, Jules. Not that I've... I mean, I'm not one to kiss and tell or compare, but women... you're all so ... catlike in the most wonderful of ways." His breath caught unevenly as her fingers stroked down his sides. "Jules... I.. I think we s-should maybe.."
"Ahh.. I don't think I've kissed enough men to compare.. not that I would.." She hushed herself by kissing him again, her fingers smoothing themselves lower on his abs as she settled in his lap. "Should maybe... what?" She pulled back a little to smile at him.
"Get.. in-...-side," he said slowly, not sure the words were well chosen no matter how true he felt they might be. She was cool and wet and every curve was nicely outlined in damp cloth at his fingertips. The drips of rain off the ends of her hair were fewer and farther, but each one that slithered down landed on his shirt and his lap. He chuckled, "Something about getting very wet..."
"I'm already wet." She whispered, nibbling his lips softly and pressing herself against him more. "but if you want to get inside... I don't mind.. other than having to move.. I like it right here."
"Moving might be a challenge here, and quite the disservice to you, mum. Especially if you're already w-...," the words were lost with the kisses and with how his mind was bending them and twisting them. Wanting to get inside and wanting... what he was finding himself wanting, was going to make him insane if he couldn't move more than an inch in his seat. "I like it right here, too, but I think you'd like much more if... you know... inside," he whispered, letting her decide what he meant by that.
Her tongue danced over his lips and she kissed him deeply, clinging to him lightly before she nodded her agreement. "Take me... inside." Her voice was a husky whisper and her thoughts skipped from image to image and desire to have those fufilled. She hoped he wouldn't protest to keeping her distracted for a long while.
This can't be happening.. were words bouncing around in his ears. He wondered if he'd been struck by lightning when he went outside to lock up. No other explanation made sense - he was hardly the most attractive man and certainly not the most bold given the men she was related to. Even Darian got the straws before he ever did, but he was far from complaining at the moment, and far from breathing normally. He nodded that he would take her into the apartment and then... hoohoooo and then! Ty chuckled and fumbled for the handle on the door. "C'mon then. Still raining and it's likely to be quite foggy later - very very dark."
She smiled at the thought of the fog, she knew how it could blanket the town so thick you practically had to push through it. "Oh dear.. I might not be able to go home... I may have to stay.. you'll keep me close and safe from the bad things in the dark.. wont you?" Her leg uncurled and stretched out to try and find the ground for balance as Ty opened the door.
"I've got a torch you can hold... right, c'mon," he sighed, thinking his joke was too stupid to acknowledge. They spilled out together and his foot tangled in the seatbelt, nearly knocking them both to the wet pavement.
She kissed his cheek softly at his attempt to joke, giggling a little bit. So it wasn't the greatest line but it was just cute that he'd said it. She grabbed him and the door as his foot caught on the seatbelt, hoping they didn't end up on the ground. Jules made a small noise of surprise and held on to Ty.
"Sorry, clumsy as ever. Are you alright? No harm done?" He hoped the mood wasn't spoilt now that she'd been dislodged and jostled. Please, don't let me spoil this, he pleaded to every higher power he could cast his eyes toward as he straightened up and got the door closed. "This way, second floor."
"I'm alright.." She pulled at the wet skirt which was stuck to her legs, tugging it to at least cover her somewhat decently for the walk inside. She reached for his hand once she realized the skirt was only going to cooperate so much and that each step shifted it anyway. Jules curled up to kiss his cheek as they headed towards his building, she didn't seem to mind the rain now.
Dumbfounded, he paused, blinking raindrops off his long dark lashes with the sweetest of shy smiles beneath. He chuckled again. "I'm dead aren't I? You're an angel, an absolute angel. A very soggy angel. Sorry, I'm keeping you out in this weather - we'll both be catch our death." He tugged gently, trying to coordinate his feet to move more gracefully to the stairs to go up to his place.
She pouted a little, thinking he look adorable with his sweet shy smile and wet lashes. "I'm trying very hard to not be an angel.. I guess I'm going to need your help with that." Her smile curled back into place and she squeezed his hand, leaning to kiss his cheek again. "if you don't mind naughty.. that is?"
"I don't mind at all... either.. I mean... just be yourself, whatever the mood inspires or desires. I'm just ... right, just follow me." He sighed again, feeling his words tumble under the tide of thoughts that were moving too fast and too far ahead. He led up the steps to the landing and juggled his keys around three bulky locks on the old door.
If he wasn't just the sweetest... Jules sighed, smiling as she followed him, at least she hadn't come across some total jerk when she was feeling the need to break out of her good girl mold. She really liked Ty, so that made it easier to relax and let loose. She leaned against his back lightly as he worked the locks, letting go of his hands so he could use them and sliding hers into his back pockets.
He nearly dropped his keys, not expecting anyone or anything to slide into his pockets and make him jump and swerve slightly. She had a way of finding every sharply tuned nerve he had, sending them each singing and sailing so far into a game of hopscotch with chills down his back and heat through his cheeks - all four he realized with the unexpected warmth and tickling of her fingers. "Hullooooo.. um.. right...," he chuckled, not sure what to do with himself at all now beyond tumbling in the door and taking her with him directly to the couch he aimed for first.
He was funny and sweet and cute.. the thought of wanting him for more than just this desire to rebel crossed her mind and she wondered if it was too late for that. He'd probably think she was a total sl*t by morning, though she didn't want to stop what had been started. She needed this, she needed him tonight.. now. It was easy to follow and tumble to the couch with him, she tangled and reached for his kisses again. The less time she had to think -the better. Her hands caressed over his shoulders and her fingers went to work on his buttons. "You should get out of these wet clothes."

"Wet clothes?" He was hardly thinking of getting himself out of anything, paying entirely too much attention to her and how soaked she was. He looked down as he spun toward the couch and her fingers tackled their project. He shook his head and clasped her hands. "I'm fine. Let me get you... get us both a towel at the least..."
Her fingers were cool against his and she curled around his hands, tipping her head down to brush soft kisses over his fingers. Slowly she lifted her head to smile at him. "That's very nice of you.. thank you."
He didn't go far when she showered her sweetness over his fingers. "Unless... well... you could come pick one out that you like." He didn't want to leave her waiting and didn't really want to let go.
"Alright." Her smile remained and her eyes sparkled softly at him. Jules kept ahold of his fingers and stepped closer to him, reaching to plant a sweet kiss against his lips.
He really didn't want to move anywhere but closer, for towels or anything else now. Unconfined and out of the open he returned the kiss tenderly. A trickle of water down his neck and another down his thigh from the drenching reminded him quickly that changing, at least getting out of the wet clothes needed to be done... eventually. "Towels," he murmured against her lips, reluctant to move away.
"mmhmm.." She hummed, curling herself around him a little more and lingering within shared kisses. She didn't care about the towel, his lips felt so good against hers. Her fingers moved towards his buttons again, the towel wouldn't do any good if he was still in his wet clothes... if they ever got to the towels.
Helpless and hapless, he fished for a place to land his fingers while she fiddled with his shirt again. First the jacket, he decided, but once he slipped it off and flung it to the floor, he again needed to do something... Shoulders seemed safe for the moment. He rested his hands there briefly making her thin top stick tighter and draw up enough to pull his attention to the accentuated curves. He coughed out nervously at the perks and puckers.
The wet material didn't want to come undone easily but she managed to get all his buttons free. Her fingers caressed his cool damp skin as she peeled the shirt away. Her eyes followed over his torso and shoulders then slowly rose to his face as the shirt fell away.
Ty curled a little, gasping shallowly at the brunt of the cold air hitting his bare skin, making him chuckle a little more. "S'cold in here." He could see that was true by the way she... he glanced away from the perks to her eyes a moment, blushing deeply, realizing she was looking him over as intently. "Y-you.. don't have... there aren't buttons. I... I n-need to...," he wasn't sure how to ask politely if he could slip her top over her head.
"That's because we're all wet.." Her eyes were gentle and she nodded to answer his unasked question. Her fingers left his chest and softly took his, guiding them to the edge of her top. She leaned to give him a soft brief kiss before letting go of his hands and lifting her arms so he could pull her top up and over her head.
Ty rubbed his fingers over the hem, feeling the softness of it and noting how it hugged her perfectly. He couldn't help but think of the expense of the clothes given her family, who she was and what he entirely wasn't a part of. As if he was handling glass, he gently slipped the top over her shoulders and head. He tried his best not to stare at the perfection he also found underneath.
Could he be any sweeter or cuter? He was acting as if he were shy, it made her smile more and reach to pull him a little closer. "You keep this up and you might never get rid of me.." She whispered, not realizing she'd spoken the thought out loud as her lips grazed over his neck and shoulder.
"It took me ten years to get this close. I'm not getting rid of you," he insisted quietly. While she was speaking of keeping things up, he was noticing just how uncomfortable rain-soaked pants could be. "I intend fully to keep going, but only so far as you want to."
Her head lifted and she tried to meet his gaze, her heart fluttering in her chest as she realized she was hoping he was being honest. "I want to.." She whispered, running her fingers over his arms. She bit her lip, her expression giving her away. "..all the way."

If it was still cold in the room, he didn't notice anymore. "Jules.. only if you're really sure. I'm not getting rid of you in an hour, or when the fog clears or even next week if I can help it. Y-you... you really want to.. w-with me?"
"Ty.." She smiled softly, sliding her arms around him. "You're so sweet.. " Her lips brushed his shoulder and her breath was warm over his neck as her head lifted again and she met his eyes. "I really want to, with you. I want it to be you."
Was she really saying what he thought he understood? "To be.. me? You mean y-you haven't... ever?" A moment of fear stumbled him backward - the men in her family were far more than the humble guard he was. What if they...? "I w-want... want you to be really very sure."
She looked down and bit her lower lip softly, her fingers curling a little tighter as took a deep breath. "I haven't ever." She blushed a shade darker and closed her eyes for a moment, she wondered what he was thinking now. "If you.. don't want.. I.. I'll understand.."
He curled a finger beneath her chin and tried to settle her nerves with another short and kind kiss. "Come with me," he muttered, waiting for her to open her eyes to see that yes, he very much wanted to, but not out of being eager to conquer her.
She trembled ever so slightly at the touch of his finger and returned the kiss softly. It took a moment for her eyes to open and for her to look up at him, but what she saw when she did made her heart beat faster. Her eyes brightened and she nodded, shifting slightly and ready to follow where he led.
"One step at a time," he said, resting his forehead to hers a moment and catch his own breath. Ty took a step backward slowly, making sure he didn't trip and started toward his small room. "I think the fog might be very, very thick by morning - you'll probably have to stay quite late."
Jules laughed softly. "You know.. sometimes the fog doesn't roll out for days.. you may be stuck with me for awhile."
"Maybe," he considered, deciding he would keep the curtains closed and take the phone off the hook. "I think I may have to let them know the rain... gave me quite a chill," he said, faking a small cough.
"It's all my fault for making you stand out in it.. the least I can do is kiss you all better." She smiled, relaxing some more as he helped to put her fear to ease. Her arms slid up to wrap around his neck and she nuzzled in to start kissing his neck.
"Tomorrow... I think I may be up all night trying to feel better," he chuckled, sighing under the kisses and suddenly swinging her in his arms. "And I need to warm up - help me?"
She giggled as he swung her in his arms and she kissed his cheek. "Mmhmm.." Her smile sweet and delighted as he relaxed and became more playful.
"Alright. I'm sure I must be dead," he muttered again in disbelief at such a marvelous moment. "Right, so... this way, towels and all that nonsense, but first... mmm... first..." He brushed her hair back off of her shoulder to kiss her neck. "Some of this... we'll use the towels much much later."
She giggled very softly and shivered at the sensation of his kiss on her neck. "Ohhh.." She sighed out, pulling herself closer to him. A part of her was sure she'd fallen asleep in her car and was dreaming this.
"Just 'ooh'? I'm going for 'ooo' and 'ahh'," he teased, blushing again but not as darkly. He wanted to carry her and wanted to stay still, standing here. He kept moving slowly toward his room, stopping by a shelf in the hall covered by a curtain. Behind it was a pile of towels and the various paper and bottles and such that had no other cabinet. Rather than wait and choose, he grabbed two towels and kept moving.
"I don't ooo and ahh.." Her eyebrow rose slightly in a challenge, her lips hinting at a smile. He grabbed the towels as she leaned to his ear. "I oohhhh and mmmmm.." Her tongue traced delicately over his ear and down his neck.

March 9, 2009 morning Ty's apartment
"ahem!" She said at the picture of him and two girls she 'found' on his shelf.
"I don't know them..." *grins shyly* ...
"uh huh...."
ty just said again - he doesn't know them... "one of their friends ushered them around me for a picture..."
"uh huh.." as if Jules hasn't seen a set up like that about a thousand times. twins, sisters... two girls hanging off a guy -sent over by 'friends'.. 'just for a picture' op
"I had my nice shirt on... look, I ... what?"
"yeah.. that's what I thought."
"What's what you thought? It's only a picture, a piece of paper."
"A picture of you and two girls.. twins or at least look alike sisters.. Goodness Ty.. you think with my family I haven't seen that enough?"
"Two girls who wanted me to take a picture for them while they were on vacation up at the cliffs. I took their photo and gave the camera back. They wanted to take one of me as a thank-you. I dont even know their names." He stared at the photo as if it would help, but he was being honest. "It arrived a few weeks after and I'd forgotten about it entirely. Guard work is weird work... that's putting it mildly. I don't know why you'd be worried about a picture, Jules. If you really want to know who they are, Darian probably knows."
"Some thank you.. looks like they appreciated.. your services." She couldn't tell him that the picture made her insanely jealous.. that the thought of those two girls with their hands on him for even a minute -made her want to claw their eyes out! that just wasn't rational and it wasn't like her to get so fired up over something like this. her teeth raked over her lower lip as she huffed and tossed her hands out to the side in frustration at her lack of decent words.
"Alright. Alright then, here." He looked around the room, beside himself in confusion as to why she'd be so upset. He hadn't smoked in years, but still had matches laying around, mostly for the addresses where he'd worked. An abandoned cereal bowl with a sticky rim of days-old milk was the closest he had to any sort of ashtray for it, but he pulled the snapshot from the frame and dropped it in, ready to light it and end the discussion.
She watched him with a look of confusion and then darted to grab his hand before he lit the picture on fire. "What are you doing?" She exclaimed, shifting up close beside him.
"Getting rid of bad karma... I hope," he said, curious more now that she stopped him. "The only reason I kept it at all... well I'm not even really sure other than maybe it made me feel less ordinary."
"Then you should keep it.. I don't want you to feel.. ordinary. You're anything but ordinary." Her hand let go of his and she took a step back, turning to walk a few steps to the window. "You should have something that makes you feel more than that.."
"I do. That's why I don't care a wit about the picture. Paper can't make me laugh or hold my hand to warm it when it's cold from the rain," he said, dropping the matches and forgetting the photo for now. He followed behind her to the window. "It's a memory of something I wasn't even a part of."
She smiled a little at his comment about holding his hand and the rain. Jules looked over her shoulder at him as he came up behind her. "Sometimes I feel like most of my life is like that." She told him softly.
"That's why I'm a fan of making my own memories. They don't need to be large or important or under bright neon lights and loud music, just special... just... un-ordinary," he shrugged a little and reached his arm around her if she let him. "Your life is what many of my nightmares are made of. I don't know how you... why you put up with all that."
"Great.. my life is your nightmare.. I feel all special.." Her sigh was heavy, though she didn't try to push him away, rather she leaned into him as his arm slipped around her. "What am I supposed to do.. it's the life I was born into, it's my family.."
He chuckled and burrowed his embarrassment into her shoulder, composing himself before kissing it gently and resting his chin. "Your family, definitely not you. Big difference between heavenly dreams and nightmares. I don't know, given that it's that particular family. Though I think you have it right. What you were doing for all those children. You did that, not your family."
She curled into the embrace, letting her head rest gently against his. "I didn't really do anything.." She protested, closing her eyes with a slight frown.
"You gave to those who needed, because you wanted to, not because of some break or glory you'd get in return. Not many in this town can do that or will. You're sure you're not an angel?" He hummed a little growl of his own denial, teasing her and running a kiss over her neck, knowing she wasn't completely an angel.
His show of affection brought a shiver and a giggle from her despite her seriousness a moment before. "Ty.." She whined with the laugh, squirming within his grasp. "If I'm an angel.. you must have hidden my halo, cause you make me want to be very naughty.." Her arm curled up around his.
"I'll go hide it and you come find it, alright? I won't tell a soul. Besides, it's still foggy out. I couldn't let you drive home alone in that."
"Who said I wanted to go..?" She smiled tipping to kiss his upper arm and lean against his chest. "I like it right here.. mmm maybe a little here too.." She shifted to kiss his shoulder.
"Then don't go. I'll call in, they'll find someone else to lock up tonight and I'll keep you here. Any objections?"
Her smile brightened and she turned so she could fully face him, her arms sliding up to wrap around his neck. "No objections."
"Unless you had a burning urge to clothe someone else today, buy them a few pacifiers," he teased, reaching for a kiss to pacify himself for a moment.
"Mmm I think I'd like to skip clothing today, unless you'd mind that terribly?" Her lips tugged teasingly at his.
"Not at all," he agreed, tugging back and pulling them away from the view of the window, away from photos and back to the warm comfort of the tangled blankets.
He was slim but strong, she'd learned in the last several hours she'd spent with him. Her smile was playful as she hopped up to wrap her slim legs around his waist and 'let' him carry her. She tangled gently around him, if he would let her stay like that.
"I see," he chuckled, grabbing hold so they didn't fall to the floor. "Anything but ordinary," he reminded her, setting her down and staying gently tangled as he followed.
Jules giggled and started to tease and nibble over his neck, enjoying the short walk back to bed and how he stayed tangled with her. "Definately not ordinary.." She reminded him back, caressing his cheek with soft fingers.
