Pirates, Damsels, and more Pirates!
A (fan fiction) Rp based off the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Set in the 1740's. Characters from the PotC movies are played as well as many player created characters.
Where this story begins...
We are 'picking up' about twelve or so years after the third PotC movie.
Captain Jack Sparrow is a man of amazing adventures and feats, the stories about him spread far and wide... even if many of those stories he created himself. There is one story that he doesn't often tell, one secret he keeps well... It's quite a tale, the kind that becomes legendary. The story of a great love affair Jack had, in his younger years, with a beautiful princess.. one whom he saved from death.. If such a story were to come out it would be disasterous to his reputation. He's kept the secret well for many years, but now there's a slight glitch...
Jacquetta Pearl Sparrow, nicknamed Treasure by her father Jack Sparrow, is eighteen now and has her own ship, the Opal. The girl is a stunning beauty who possesses her father's charm, wit, and flair as well as his love of the sea. She's all grown up and starting to make a name for herself, much to her father's dismay..
Jack is further vexed when he finds that his 'old friend' Will Turner has joined The Opal and become Treasure's first mate. Will now has his own share of stories and secrets which he seems reluctant to share with Treasure at first but as their bond grows deeper he opens up to her. What he reveals will forever change her and the crew of The Opal.
The Pirate Code
Since we have borrowed and based this verse on the PotC movies and characters, the following is the Pirate Code according to their story. This is what we will use here as a basic start point, each Captain and ship may have their own articles besides these which their crew will abide, or they may simply use these basic rules and have no additional ones.

"This Code extends to pirates worldwide, or at least to all areas under the governance of the nine Pirate Lords. The Code applies both to living pirates and to undead ones. While the Code has the force of law in Shipwreck Cove, where a codex containing the complete code is kept under the care of Captain Teague. Elsewhere, the Code is treated more as a set of guidelines than as actual rules."
The right to declare parley, in which the person who declared it is to be taken to the enemy captain for negotiations and is to remain unharmed by his crew until such time.
Mutiny against the captain of a pirate ship is an unthinkable crime: "the deepest circle of hell is reserved for betrayers and mutineers"
He who falls behind is left behind.
Take what you can, give nothing back.
A marooned pirate is given a pistol with a single shot with which to kill himself as opposed to starvation.
Only the Pirate King has the power to declare war and during the war, only the Pirate King has the right to declare parlay.
The Pirate King is elected by the nine Pirate Lords, with a plurality necessary for election. Anyone caught bribing are to be shot.
