Tully hummed quietly as she towelled herself dry after her shower, in the month that they had been dating, she'd come to know that Mitch was more of a night owl and he liked to stop in and see her after work or later in the evening. She didn't put any perfume on as he seemed to like just her scent, that thought made her smile even more as she pulled on her faded blue jeans their torn knee, a simple heather grey t-shirt and her hair left flowing loose, her feet bare.
It might have seemed strange that tonight he knocked instead of letting himself in as he had the last couple of times he'd seen her. He didn't show up to start cooking on her grill to surprise her this time, either, not tonight. The air was charged with something that made his fur stand on end, but it was likely only his misgivings about sharing more about himself and his family with her now that he trusted her... trusted himself that he wasn't making a mistake. He waited at the step, feeling his toenails scratching at the steel in the toes of his boots.
Tully's head tipped to the side as she heard the knock, it wasn't like Mitch to knock.. not anymore, so maybe it wasn't him. That made her pause and she took a deep breath, there had been a rash of break ins, murders, and disappearances that made her nervous. She tried to shake it off as she approached the door, smoothing her shirt down a little. A glance through the little window by the door had her fear fading and her smile shining out as she pulled the door open. "Hey!" She reached for him and a kiss, happy to have him there with her again.
"Hey yourself, lady," he muttered sweetly. He was scruffier than she'd seen him lately and a little tired around the edges, but the kiss was warmly welcomed. He smiled a little more as he took a deep breath, comforted by her company already.
"I like that you call me that.. makes me feel all special." She kept her arms around him and kissed his neck, rubbing her cheek against his scruff with a soft laugh. "Mmm I'm letting you get too comfortable.. you didn't even shave!" Tully teased him and lifted her fingers up to tickle his jaw. "I kind of like it." Her smile faded a little as she looked over his face more closely. "Ohh babe, you look tired.. you didn't have to come tonight, you should get some rest."
"I'm fine. I came here so I could rest. You have no idea," he chuckled a little. "Lately it's been like a non-stop summer beach party with the kids out of school. Save me?" He begged gently with his eyes.
"I'll save you every night if you need me to. Get in here." She pulled him gently into the house, keeping one arm around his shoulders as she reached with the other to swing the door shut. "So.. you came here to rest.. does that mean I can finally take you straight to bed?" She teased him with a wink. "I promise.. I'll be a gentleman."
