9pm
Tre sighed softly as she opened the bottle of wine and poured herself a glass, another friday night spent at home.. alone. She didn't mind not having a boyfriend most of the time, but now and then it got to her, especially with all the disappearances in town over the past few months. Sometimes she felt as if she was being watched and wished someone was in the house with her to distract her or would be there waiting for her. The chill made her shiver despite how warm it was tonight, and she rubbed her hands over her bare arms and felt the need to head into the bathroom to get her short summer robe from the hook on the door.
She seemed aware of something that gave her a chill. He watched and listened here while the others had seemed fit to go after the dirty-handed partakers of his brother's demise. He wasn't the sort to go after vengeance though he was no less of a hunter. He had explained it clearly, that his senses became dulled when splattered with blood taken in anger. He was one of the few in the pack who had little interest in such battles, though his sense for protection and survival more than made up for the difference. Tonight he hunted differently as well, having become slowly overwhelmed with the suggestive scents and stances of his pack siblings who had recently returned from their exploits with new mates. It might have been the knowledge or perhaps the fear of those recent exploits, many of them familiar and close, that made her skin turn cold and her thoughts shiver as well as she disappeared deeper into her home and out of his view. He frowned and moved quickly, landing softly where he leapt onto the patio, stopping at the door to scratch at it, uttering the low, sad whine of a dog left in the cold, though he wasn't chilled. He'd lowered his ears and tail, trying to look as forlorn as he could manage, waiting to see her return from the room inside before lowering his body down to rest his chin on his paw and wait.
Tre came back out, wrapping the robe around herself and looking around for the source of the noise she heard. She was afraid but telling herself she was being silly.. and trying to believe it. Too many people had disappeared with ransacked houses or bloody scenes left behind. "Hello?" She spoke softly, not quiet a whisper and moved slowly around the living room, she stopped still when she saw the form outside the patio door. "Oh.. I just convinced myself a dog was some serial killer come to get me.. no more scary movies for me." Tre shook her head at herself and padded quietly to the door, looking out at the large dog for a moment before slowly easing the door open. "Hey there big guy.. what are you doing out here?"
He felt the chuckle gurlgling inside, churning it into another soft whine and raising only his gaze at first as the door opened. As it opened wider, he slowly raised up his head, licking his dry mouth then panting slightly. Did he look needy enough?
"Hmm.. I don't really speak dog so bear with me.." She explained and bit her lower lip, was she that lonely that she was talking to a stray dog? The dog didn't jump up at her, growl, or attack and that made her relax a little. "Are you thirsty?" Her fingers tapped gently against the door as she considered letting him in. "I'll make a deal with you.. you can come in if you promise to eat anything that tries to get me, okay?" Tre stepped back and opened the door a little more. "Come on.." She called gently to the dog to lure him in.
