The end of the date led them back to the same place it had nearly every Friday night for the past two months that they had been dating, her front stoop. Chris came around to open her door and Lily held his hand as they walked to the steps, the kiss was sweet and left them wanting more.. but she wasn't ready for more yet. Lily giggled softly and stole another soft kiss before pulling her keys out and taking a step back, she glanced up at the stars and sighed softly, turning to go up the two steps to her door. Her keys rattled as she brought them to the lock, another sound caught her attention and she turned around toward the street and where Chris should have been standing.. but he was gone!
The boy wouldn't be seen or found, but the sound was unavoidable. Humans - always the noisey ones. "Shhhhhh." The hiss that told her to be quiet was followed by a chuckle in the air not far from where the boy had been standing. Nothing but shadows were around the stoop where she now stood alone. "Get your door unlocked, did you, lovely? Better hope so." The small laugh came again from the shadows.
The confusion that came from turning to find Chris gone was quickly replaced with an anxious fear at the hiss that came from the shadows. She tried to tell herself that it was was just Chris playing a trick but the cold shiver that ran down her spine told her differently. "Chris...?" She tried to call for him but it came out as a whisper, his voice had never sounded so sinister. Even as she spoke and tried to convince herself not to be afraid, she took a backward step up toward her door. Had she gotten the door unlocked? She thought she had and the laugh that came from the shadows had her spinning to run inside..
"Not Chris, pet." The voice responded clearly, having heard her clearly in her whisper. Where Chris had been taken, something sprung from the shadows, landing behind her. It rose to stand, a man slightly taller than Chris had been, but more slender and slipping the t-shirt the man had worn over his shoulders as he caught the door behind her and followed her in. "Come now, lovely... that's no way to say hello is it? Chris is very sorry to tell you.. he had to go." He closed the door behind himself as she ran inside to hide wherever she thought she could.
Lily turned to look as whoever it was leapt up on the porch and followed her into the house. He caught the door and Lily tried to kick it into his hand or face but it was a quick try before she sprinted off again. The house was small and she shared it with her sister, who was not home tonight, Jaime had planned to spend the weekend with friends. Knowing that made Lily's heart beat faster as she raced into the kitchen, grabbing a knife from the block as she went through to go into her bedroom. She could hear him behind her and his comments, making it sound as if he was a friend stopping by. She hoped to make it to the phone to dial 911.

He was beside her in the kitchen in the next breath. "Tisk, tisk, pet," he said, shaking his head at her and sliding himself between her and the phone. He wiped his lip that appeared smeared with blood. "No calls. Who would believe you? Chris, is it? Gone all missing into the thin air, all poof, yeah?"
Lily's eyes widened as he was suddenly there and moving between her and the phone, she hadn't even made it through the kitchen - he was faster than anyone should be. Her gaze shifted with the movement of his hand and she gasped as her eyes stayed fixed on his lips - was that blood? "What did you do to him?" She shook her head, taking a step backward. "What do you want?"
He wiped his lip again and leaned beside the phone on his hand. He smiled with a fire in his eyes. "What I had to do," he shrugged and watched her try to slip slowly away from him. "What -do- I want? What any bright boy would want, yeah? A sweet girl to take home. That's you, pet."
The fact that he was so calm, casual even, made him even more frightening. She swallowed hard, unable to pull her gaze away from him and the way he wiped at his lips. Had he bitten Chris? If that was the case, he might be alive and able to recover.. maybe she could keep herself alive too. "Why me?.. I.. I have a boyfriend.. and.. ah.. I'm already home.."
"Had," he corrected, taking a step toward her, smiling wider. "Guess that just didn't work out for you. I'm sure he's very... very... sorry." He didn't appear to be at all, with the smile and calm demeanor as he approached her.
She shook her head as he corrected her and went on to tell her how he was sure Chris was very sorry. As the man stepped toward her, she took a step back. Lily licked at her lips, her mind scrambling to think of something she could do to protect herself. "Well I'm sure you can understand.. how upset I am that it didn't work out.. I liked him.. very much.. and I'd like to be alone.. would you please leave?" She gestured back toward the door he'd followed her through, she didn't really think he'd leave but it was worth a try.
"Of course. I'm planning to go very soon. Pour us a drink first," he suggested, circling the room around her. "You're going to need it, I think."
"A drink?" This was unbelievable in a way.. the guy wanted to have a drink with her? Her head shook slightly and her gaze swept around the room again. "Do you want Pepsi or orange juice?" She asked quietly, glancing to where the knives were, so close to where she would have to go to get the glasses and drinks.
He laughed. "No, pet. An... adult... beverage, yeah? Preferably a touch of the voddy. I'm sure you're a big girl enough to enjoy some now and then. Now... pour... us... a drink. It helps wash down the taste," he said, looking down at the shirt he'd borrowed.

She bit at her lower lip and kept her gaze averted for a moment, afraid to look at him as she answered. "I don't really drink.. and I don't keep any in the house.." She reached behind her to help steady herself against the counter, her legs felt a little weak as he spoke of washing the taste down and demanded she pour them a drink of something she didn't have. "I..ah.. m-my sister might have some.. in her room." She looked up enough to focus on the shirt he was wearing, now realizing that it was the one Chris had been wearing. it took alot of will power to keep from freaking out as the moments passed with this man in her house, wearing her date's shirt. "I can check.. it's through there.." She motioned the doorway behind him, praying that if he did allow her to go by her sister wouldn't leave him disappointed again.
"In her room? Nice girl, both of you," he laughed, wondering why in their own home her absent sister needed to hide her liquor away in her room. He shook his head. "No need for that. Leave her a message? No. I don't think that will be necessary, do you?" He leaned toward her, smelling something in the air near her hair. "Fear... that's nice, too."
Lily nodded her head slightly when he said she and her sister were nice girls. "Leave her a message? That's a good idea.. wish I'd thought of it.." She whispered and looked up to him as he leaned toward her. Fear.. yeah, what else was she supposed to feel with some psycho in her house? He was sort of handsome in a completely frightening way.. she trembled slightly as he hovered.
"You thought of it the moment you mentioned her. Tell you what, pet. Nevermind the drink just now. I'm thinking of something a little sweeter to cleanse my pallette. Ah, and don't consider the sharp and pointy. You wouldn't want to miss," he said, noting her fingers on the counter and near the drawers. He reached up to her cheek. "Why not come out of here and follow me, yeah?"
"No I didn't.. I thought of trying to jump out her window or use the phone in her room." Lily admitted with the barest hint of a smile before she remembered to be very afraid of the creepy man hovering over her.. there was something just off about him. Her eyes followed his fingers as his hand lifted to her cheek, she shied away a little, afraid he was going to strike her and stared up at him when he didn't, listening to the way he spoke. "Follow you... where?" She made no move to go for the knives she'd considered before or to move away from where she stood against the counter. "Why would I follow you? You're a stranger.. who has frightened me, come into my home uninvited.. done something to my boyfriend.."
"Not a very good listener, are you? I already told you - taking you home. My home. Before you think further of jumping out any window, or calling for help, don't think you can outrun me or do yourself harm. You're very sweet... to me," he said, referring to the scent he took in again as he leaned to kiss her cheek where he'd stroked it. "You're going to become sweeter. Screaming would be a very bad idea, by the way." She would see the flash in his eyes and the brief image of teeth like a doberman as he smiled. His finger waved in front of her, scolding and reminding that she'd best do as he suggested, the dark claw at his fingertip emphasizing the thought a little.
"I listened.." She whispered in protest, feeling as if she needed to defend herself in some way. "I just don't understand..." She was trembling again or was it still? She felt the brush of his lips against her cheek and gasped softly at the sensation that rippled through her. His warmth bathed her with how close he stood and for just a second she closed her eyes. She nodded when he advised her not to scream, her eyes opened to see the flash in his eyes and the glimpses of teeth and claw. She didn't scream but he'd hear the slight whimper as she tried not to, her green eyes looking up to his dark ones. "What are you?"

"Amused," he muttered back. "Tell me your name. I'd rather hear it than Chris's for the rest of the night, hm? Oh, you mean -what- am I? I'll give you a hint, pet. My, what big eyes you have, said the little girl, staring wildly at the creature before her in her grandmother's robes. All the better to see you with, my dear. And what I see, I want to keep."
The color drained from her face for a few moments as he described what he was by using the well known Little Red Riding Hood. Slowly her head shook as she tried to deny it, that wasn't possible.. there was no such thing, yet what she'd seen made her question the possibility. Her fingers were shaking as she slowly reached up toward his mouth, sweeping a bit of the blood, he'd wiped at himself, onto her own finger tips. She stared at the dark smears and shook her head again. "It wasn't Granny you ate.." Oh dear god, had he actually eaten Chris? Thinking of his name reminded her that she'd been asked hers. "Lily.. short for Lilian.. what's your name?"
He seemed to consider the answer while she reached out to him in return. He blew her a kiss as she realized the answers that scared her most. "Nickname's Tripp, lovely. Not short at all, in any way," he said suggesting so many things as he grabbed her hand and pulled her close to him.
Was he purposely trying to frighten her or was this just how he was naturally? Either way, he seemed to like the fact that she was scared. Lily took in a sharp breath as he grabbed her hand and pulled her close, her other hand rose to his chest as if to try to keep him back. "Tripp is an interesting name.." It was all she could think to say for the moment, she was confused by how it felt to be this close to him. Most of her was simply afraid of him but there was something else mixed into it.. something she didn't understand. He would smell the hints of excitement and attraction that laced into the fear in her scent.
"Mmmm, no. I'm not interesting. Told you, I'm amused, but you seem to have put that together with the big bad part, and your conclusion... is intoxicating, little one," he said, bending her name around his own words. Her scent widened his eyes more for the deep red in them to shine within and he tried to steal a small kiss from her despite the bloody smear on his lip. "It's time to go, now."
Her scent would strengthen with all the things he found intoxicating as he tried to steal the kiss, her hand on his chest tried to push him away but she didn't even budge him. The blood on his lips smeared onto hers and she could taste it as she turned her face to the side. "Don't.." The strange thing was that she didn't mind the kiss as much as she did the blood of the man she'd kissed earlier on his lips.
"No? And why not, pet?" It was clear to him she enjoyed the attention although he'd frightened her to her core. She'd seen, heard and felt enough to know he was not a lie and not intending to hurt her. He kissed her again. Perhaps she wasn't sure about him meaning her no harm. "What will you do? I said I wanted to keep you. That was me, not the fairy tale, Lily. I choose you."

He kissed her again and her knees felt sort of weak, the hand that had been trying to push him away curled into the borrowed shirt to hold herself steady, her head spun and it took a minute to be able to give him any sort of answer. She was clearly confused as she gazed into his eyes, unsure of him and herself at the moment. "Why not?... because.. you have blood on your mouth.." But that wasn't it entirely, was it? No, it was because of who's blood it was, she realized as she licked her lips in an automatic reaction to feeling the smears there. "..from my boyfr.. date.." Chris couldn't really be her boyfriend if Tripp had eaten him and planned to keep her, she also got the feeling he didn't care much for the idea of her having a boyfriend. Maybe that's why he ate him? Tripp asked her what she would do and she asked herself the same thing.. what could she do against the 'big bad wolf'? "Wipe your mouth." She pulled his shirt up enough to try to do just that. "What do you mean.. when you say you want to keep me.. and that you choose me? Like a new squeaky chew toy?"
"No, not as a chew toy... well, not often, but I do enjoy a tender nibble now and then. I'm sure you're very sweet that way, too, yeah? I choose you... Come now, Lily, think a moment. Choose... as a mate, hm? I want you to keep by my side and fight by my side," he explained quietly. He did not expect her to understand at first.
Once again he left her struggling with her thoughts and words, shocking her by telling her he wanted her for something far less sinister than what she'd been thinking. "You.. don't want to kill me?" She sighed with relief and a small chuckle floated out with it as her hand rose to brush her hair away from her face. Her eyes roamed over him as she tried to shift her thoughts from being murdered to being his mate. That word she knew enough but didn't understand it from the same prespective as he did. "Your mate? I mean I kind of get it.. I've watched the discovery channel.. but I mean.. I don't even know you. I've been seeing Chris for two months and we haven't even.. " She was flustered and flushed with the thoughts and images that danced in her head and sweetened her scent. "Can.. we even..? I'm not.. like you.. what will the babies look like?"
He laughed then pursed his lips to quiet the amusement. She was terrified and he needed to change that quickly. He knew the fear, faced it himself recently, but overcame it quickly. He also understood the confusion, especially that from the ideas that began to alter her scent, making her even more beautiful. "We can, and believe me, we will, but not yet. No, I have no intention of killing you... which is why we won't. You need to become like me and I'm going to make that happen." He followed the fingers that brushed her hair from her face, stroking the blond strands softly. "They'll look like you."
Her eyes closed as his fingers stroked her hair, she let a soft sigh part her lips as she did her best to process all of what he said and not simply panic at the parts which scared her. Her lashes fluttered to reveal her bright green gaze, full of questions, fear, and yes, even some excitement. She smiled sweetly at how he said thier children would look like her. "I think it would only be fair.. for one to look like you." It was a partial tease and a partial stall as she needed a few moments more before she could ask about the rest. Her fingers brushed over his arm, her tongue dabbing at her lips. "How do I become like you? Do.. you have to bite me?" That was the way it happened in stories, but this was real.
"Smart girl. Knew there was a reason I sniffed you out. Yes, I'll have to bite you. I won't lie. It's going to hurt, but after... your world will never be the same. That's why you cannot stay here," he said plainly, walking around her to keep her and her thoughts moving.
"What about my sister?" She pressed back against the counter as he started to move, as if to keep him from getting behind her, though he wouldn't be able to anyway with where she was. She reached back to grip the counter again as if somehow that would keep her there when he wanted her to leave.

"Your sister? What about her?" He laughed again. "What about -you-? Live for yourself, now, not her." He tried to focus her thoughts on herself. He suspected her sister was independent enough and strong enough to manage without Lily immediately beside her. Perhaps provisions could be made to bring her sister along, too, but his brothers would have to decide for themselves if she was a fit choice to join them. "I came here because of you, Lilian. And it's time to go."
"I..." She looked to him, knowing if he wanted to take her that he could do so fairly easily with his strength but her eyes pleaded with him to understand her feelings. "She's my twin.. she's been a part of me since before we were born.. I can't just disappear.. I don't want to not have her in my life.. that's -my- choice. Besides if I just leave and I'm not back after she comes home.. she'll come looking for me.. I know what you came here for but.. I don't even know you and even if we share a deep bond, it will never be the same as the one I have with her.. you can't take her place.. why can't I have both?"
"So... let her come looking, yeah?" He laughed a little, but the concern was growing. Her sister was a liability. It was true she probably would come looking and his alternatives were few. He dove at her where she leaned against the safety of her counter, planting a hand to either side of her as he peered down into the depth of green. "I'll send someone," he said, now almost pleading with her as his eyes darted, looking over her features and back into her gaze.
At first she thought him angry and she leaned back as he dove and planted himself around her but the way he looked at her, she didn't think he was. "Thank you." Lily gave him a gentle smile as she let go of the counter and reached for his arm and her other hand to his face. "Should I get a change of clothes?"
He agreed, "Please do, but only what you need for a few days." He thought about what he'd said before. "I've change my mind. Do leave a note. Tell her only that you've had a school friend arrive unexpectedly with tickets.. somewhere, anywhere, just that you're too excited to explain and you'll be back soon. You will be."
She bit at her lower lip, his first offer sounded better to her, Jaime wouldn't buy a lie and since they were twins and school had only been a few years ago - she knew all of Lily's friends.. most of them were here in town. "I'll go get my clothes." She said softly, trying to think of what she could say in a note that her sister would buy especially if she didn't call Jaime Sunday night.
He grinned though he could sense beneath her fear how conserned she was over her sister. She was willingingly going with him, he could smell that honesty, but she was more worried what her sister would think, not about what would soon happen. He moved to let her get to her room, but he would follow her. "Alright. Get them but be quick. Please," he added, not wanting to sound angry. He'd done a quick job dispatching Chris, but the fact he wore the man's clothes and what was left behind was nearly indistinguishable as formerly human, he still worried about the longer he waited to leave.
She moved into her own room and grabbed a bag the would work to bring some things with her, she knew he followed and she turned to face him as she set her purse into the bottom of the bag. "Is.. why must we hurry? I'm going with you.. I don't understand."

"I'm not exactly inconspicuous wearing a dead man's shirt, am I? I take it off, and then I'm turning heads for being out in the cold air like a lunatic, not that I feel at all cold. Who will see me in the dark? Don't know, but any person could be the wrong person and the quicker we leave, the less likely there is to be a person at all."
"I could give you another shirt.. " She offered softly, Jaime had a few that were left by an ex-boyfriend. "I honestly don't think anyone would notice the shirt as being his.. umm.. what about.. the body?" She asked softly, worried of how close it might be to the house and of it being discovered by Jaime or someone else. She was quick at packing her own clothes, tossing a few sets of underthings, shirts, two pairs of jeans, and her sneakers into the bag. She added her brush and a few small items that Jai would expect her to grab if she went off for a weekend.
"I'll need one, thank you," he said, admiring her generosity despite the fear and urgency. "The ... what's left of it... is likely to be found eventually, hopefully not soon. I'm fast, but not perfect," he admitted, somewhat ashamed for what had happened. He still needed to wash out his mouth. "You were the last he was seen with, of course, so eventually someone will come here to ask questions. Hopefully your sister won't be here to answer, either."
Lily nodded and smiled a little, leaning to kiss his cheek as she headed to Jaime's room for the change of shirt. "Do you think you can send someone?.. it will already be a couple of days that Chris will be missing by the time Jaime gets home.. I'd feel better knowing she won't be put in the middle.. there have been some.. odd things happening around town. If I'm gone and Chris is missing.. you know? If she thought something happened to me.. she'd be out for blood.. and well.. with what you are.. it would be bad." She had a shirt in her hand and came back with another small smile, almost apologetic for being so much trouble.
"I'll send someone," he agreed. As soon as she'd said 'odd' he suddenly had someone specific in mind for the task. "Will she believe him, though? You can at least believe me that you will see her very soon and you both will understand everything."
"Well.." She held out the shirt with a small playful smile. "If she doesn't believe him.. he can always knock her out and carry her off.. then once she sees me.." Lily shrugged as if it was all that simple. "You made me believe without hurting me.. I can still leave her a note, I just can't lie and tell her the story you suggested. She wouldn't buy it but I can keep it short and simple and let her know someone will show up to explain more?"
He chuckled at the description of having her sister carried off. "He might..," he said under his breath. "You can tell her that. Tell her Taidgh... um.. best just tell her a tall, dark stranger...will explain. I'm not sure how to spell it and he's particular that way," he sighed.
Lily chuckled and nodded as he agreed and told her of how his friend was particular, she went to her bedside table to take a piece of her stationary for the note. This way Jaime would know it came from her, and would be more likely to trust the man Tripp would send. She was quick at writing out her short explaination, Jai might not like it much but she would at least believe it. "I'll just put this on her bed and then I guess I'm ready to go." She was a little nervous about what was going to happen but as long as she didn't constantly think about it, it wasn't so bad.

"Do you believe in fate, Lily?" He asked, folding his arms as he watched her write and set the note down. Ready to go, but was she really ready? How much would she try to defy him, he wondered. Once he'd caught her scent he couldn't shake her from his mind. Once she was changed, though, she could sense others in ways she'd never known. Would she pick him? His faltering thoughts had him swaying a little. He was being too nice, too careless perhaps, to simply ask and trust that she'd follow him.
"You look.. thoughtful." She commented quietly as she looked at him, finding herself with the urge to be closer to him. She rose from the edge of the bed and came to stand in front of him. "I do believe in fate.. but not blindly.. I believe we all make our own choices and while fate may play a part, what we decide to do or not do also plays a part."
"So, you don't really believe in it completely? That there isn't a path given that you cannot sway from, although there may be few trees to climb along the way to distract you? What I suppose I'm asking is.. is something really foolish, actually," he said, straying from the thought and taking the sack from her hand. It was one less chance that she'd run if he had her things.
"Ask.. what it is you really mean to ask? I want to understand.. I want to know.." She reached to brush her hands over his arms, looking up at him with a sincere expression. "I think us meeting is fate but I like to think we have choices in our lives and a little control over where we end up."
He wanted that control over her. "I want you to know, then, that my choice is you," he said, not sure how else he could phrase it. "I want to find that you have no other choice but me. That's what's foolish, but I hope for it." He was speaking almost like a shy boy on his first date though his eyes held a fire that said he was far from innocent.
Her smile twitched a little as she thought she understood what he meant, her hands dropped away as she turned for her bag, but then realized he'd taken it. "I don't have any other choice. I don't believe that if I told you I didn't want to leave with you, that you'd simply go away and I'd go on with my life as if we'd never met. That's not fate though... that's you."
He was more confused himself, now. "We'll... just discuss it more when we get there. I have your bag. It's a long way on foot. Are you in comfortable shoes?" For scaring her as badly as possible, he was truly concerned about her comfort.
"If it's a long way on foot.. why not discuss it on the way?" She was a little surprised to find that he expected her to walk, she'd sort of figured she'd be carried off. "These are not comfortable for walking a long way in.. they're comfortable as heels go and for being out on a date but I don't think they are meant for long walks.. neither is my outfit.. I guess I should change.. my sneakers are in my bag."
He pulled her shoes from the bag. "Then give me the heels. If you're sister is that suspicious, she'll be doubly so if you leave your play clothes here." He made no other move to leave as she opted to change.

She bent to pull the heels off and trade them for the sneakers, she waited a moment for him to leave the room or turn around but it didn't appear that he was going to do either. She gathered the clothes she was going to change into, taking out a sweatshirt to keep the cool night air from chilling her. Lily glanced at Tripp before turning herself to try to keep him from seeing much. Her stockings came off first and were tossed into the laundry basket, she slipped her panties on beneath the skirt, reaching for her jeans with the skirt still on, doing her best to keep herself modestly covered.
He couldn't help but nearly drool as she teased him without meaning to. He stepped up behind her as she slipped the jeans up to help her with the skirt that kept her hidden. "Please," he said in a gentle whisper, setting his hand at her waist so she'd know he was right there. "Don't hide from me, pet."
She heard his whisper and felt the heat of his hand before he actually touched her so she wasn't startled by it but held still for a few seconds before glancing over her shoulder at him. Her cheeks were warm with the blush and she turned her head forward again, biting at her lower lip, her jeans left as she reached for the zipper of her skirt.
His fingers rested over hers as she tugged the zipper for the skirt. The gesture alone, that she continued with him there, was enough to satisfy him. He didn't need to see her to be enticed by her. "Thank you," he said, wanting to steal a kiss. He would wait until he'd had his drink, here or at home, before pursuing that further for her sake.
She didn't reply to his thank you, she didn't say anything at all as she let the skirt slip down her legs and then bent down to untangle it from the jeans she'd started to put on and her feet. Keeping it tucked in one hand, she pulled her jeans up around her waist and then held the skirt over her shoulder for him to take and put in the bag. He would probably notice the subtle change in her breath, slightly heavier and uneven with him watching her and standing so close. Where he now stood, he could see her front in the mirror, though she'd kept her back to him. Her fingers grasped the hem of the top she'd worn out and she pulled it up over her head, taking a moment to turn it right side out and fold it before reaching to hand it to him as well.
"A beautiful girl, and a beautiful soul," he admitted, looking her over in the mirror beside him. He was a handsome, dark match to her pale innocence and even in the glass in front of her the fire in his eyes smoldered, a hint of true red catching the light now and then of the creature that resided within him. He made no effort to hide his approval of her from head to toe.
She believed that he meant it and smiled softly rather than question the comment, the blush still gave her cheeks a bit of color and she glanced at the mirror. She looked at the reflection of them together and reached to tug his arm around her, stepping slightly in front of him so she could study it more. "Maybe there is something.." She murmured softly.
His head tilted, unsure of what she meant. She was the one to tug now, pulling his arm around her waist. "Something? Do tell," he said, taking in the sweetness of her scent.
"To this fate stuff.. what you said about having a path and where it would take you no matter what sort of detours or stops along the way... We certainly look like we were made to be together." She continued to study the reflection in the mirror, how his arm rested around her. "You're not at all what I thought.. or dreamed of as a young girl.. I was more the prince charming - Disney variety type.. no offense.. but that's not you." She smiled a little and leaned against his chest.

"No, it's not," he chuckled and cradled her against him, pleased that the fear was slowly dissipating in favor of her curiosity. He kissed her hair. "More like Price Alarming, yeah? Though I'm quite sure there's still happy everafter, but we have a long way to go first."
She leaned into the kiss on her hair a little but couldn't help laughing at the 'prince alarming', though it was true from what she'd seen so far, he'd certainly scared her. She closed her eyes and let herself rest in his embrace for a few moments before sighing and pulling away a little reluctantly. "I guess that means I should finish changing.. so we can go and get started.." She had a t-shirt to slip on, then her socks and sneakers and the sweatshirt.. and she'd be ready again. "Where are we going?"
"To where I live... me and my brothers. They'll be your brothers, too, soon enough. Outside of town a bit.. in a sort of too-rugged area for skirts and heels. You won't miss them," he said as she slipped out of his grasp for the moment. He returned the favor for her, slipping off the t-shirt he'd borrowed to put on the one she gave him.
She'd pulled her t-shirt on and turned with a slight pout. "But I like skirts.." The pout didn't stay long as he pulled Chris's shirt off, her expression more curious and appreciative. She came closer again, reaching to let her fingers brush over his skin before he put the other shirt on.
The shirt would wait. Her attention in such a small way was more than he could have asked for. The touch of her fingers made the fire in his eyes dance. "I admit I like them, too. I've chased several but never before intended to actually catch any, not like this," he said, pressing her fingers down against his chest. His skin was quite warm, enough that he didn't truly need the shirt.
Lily smiled shyly with his admission, she was the first he'd wanted for his mate.. she felt a slight flutter like butterflies inside her and she stepped closer. He was even warmer with out his shirt and her fingers splayed out over his chest, her green eyes staring up into the fire of his, watching it dance. It was nearly mesmerising and she felt drawn, lifting up on tip toes to press a kiss to his mouth. "How about you just chase mine from now on? I'll keep the skirts and just ditch the heels.. I promise to let you catch me."
That wasn't exactly a choice since he could already catch her now, but it was meant as one and he returned the kiss to thank her more. "Consider it done, pet. And, I consider than a challenge. Remember it once you've endured your own glorious metamorphosis," he said, wondering how well she might outrun him once she became like him.
She knew full well that he had already caught her and could easily do the same again, but she'd only meant to tell him he was her choice now as well. She still had much to learn and a change to under go but she heading toward the future with him rather than simply going along because she felt she couldn't physically stop him. "I'll remember." She promised with another kiss, gently pulling away so they could both finish getting dressing and then leave.
Her sincerity touched him deeply. He regretted what he'd done to hurt her already and the enormous pain she faced. He believed her completely that she promised and would remember and here he'd not even marked her as Mitch said he might have to. Perhaps he did, but in some way that didn't involve biting her first. He chuckled to himself over the strangeness of everything he'd learned only recently, and at how much he still learned each day, how everything was so different on the other side. He'd meant what he'd said about her soul, that in some way she understood and accepted, seeming to know in some other part of herself already what was happening. Fate? Choice? Destined or not, she'd accepted. If only she could sense his joy the way he sensed her calmness and blooming desires in her kiss, her touch and the softness of her voice. Maybe he was the one, claimed by her! He pulled on the shirt and picked up the discarded one that couldn't be left behind.
She finished with her shoes and pulled the sweatshirt on for warmth, since she didn't have the same inner heat he seemed to have. Lily stood and took a look around at her room, wondering if she'd really come back or if this would be the last time she left it? She hoped to be back.. to have him with her when she did.. even if it was just to gather the rest of her things. She took a deep breath. "Let's go." She turned to Tripp with a soft smile and reached for his hand.
The finality in her announcement made his heart leap. Taking her hand, he clenched it securely. "For you, it's Patrick," he said, rubbing her hand with his thumb. "And for you, I promise to be kind. Others aren't so fortunate. I already know.. I love you and although my voice may raise, or my hand, it will -never- be against you."
