It was a typical night, Lola and Harry had eaten dinner then shorty after the phone rang, Harry answered it and then made excuses to her about work, saying he had to go take care of something. Lola wasnt an idiot and the night before had even followed him to know for sure if what she suspected was true. Unfortunately it was, she was still in shock from seeing her husband check into the motel with another woman. She thought they were happy but aparently she wasn't keeping him happy enough, it explained the strange distance she'd felt between them for weeks. Harry brushed his teeth, showered, and shaved before leaving to take care of the issue, did the mill care if he wore cologne? Probably not, but his wh*re must like it. Lola poured herself a drink and opened the patio doors, it was too cool at night to swim but she went out to curl herself in one of the chairs. She sipped at her drink and leaned her head back with a sigh, her gaze drifting up to the stars that peeked out of the dark sky. Until yesterday, when she looked in the mirror she liked what she saw, but today she felt too old, not pretty enough, and saw every little flaw and line that seemed to scream at her. The drink was stronger than she usually made it and was disappearing fast, but she didn't care about that right now.
This was the place. Keller could smell the man's money and his stink, including the cheap drugstore cologne, before they'd even come up the drive. The foreman's lovely home was ruined with it. He looked to Luke and motioned to go around back. There was the hint of whiskey in the breeze, so maybe they were outside enjoying the spring evening. Keller slipped around the opposite side, smelling also the faint chlorine. A pool too? He shook his head and stopped at the corner in the shadows, thinking at first they had an animal in their yard besides himself, but it was a woman curled in one of the chairs, sitting awkwardly. It looked like they were settled in for the evening, but now to find the foreman. He coughed to bring her attention around from the stars.
Luke took his direction from Keller and headed around the back of the house, he stayed in the shadows as he heard the other man cough to get the woman's attention. He watched the yard and the house, sensing no other movement from where he stood.
Lola didn't hear Keller or Luke coming around the house, with as quietly as they moved, the first she knew anyone was there was when Keller coughed. To her credit, Lola didn't jump or screech with dramatic fright, she simply brought her gaze from the sky and shifted to look in the direction the noise came from. She thought she saw a man in the shadows next to the house and she squinted a bit to try to make him out. "Hello?"
Keller slipped out of the shadows so she could see him. He was a light haired man and his accent was clearly not local. "Don't get up. Where's Harry?" He asked directly.

It was dark enough not to be able to see him clearly but what she could see made her smile faintly, he was handsome and she liked his voice. She'd probably be more enthused about it if she didn't feel like crap, thanks to the man he was looking for. The expression on her face showed her displeasure and the sarcasm that came with her answer. "Working late." She lifted her glass to her lips to wash down the bitter taste of the lie and what knowing the truth did to her.
While she looked toward Keller, Luke emerged from the other side of the house, he held back looking to his brother and waiting to see what he'd do about the woman who lied for her husband. It was in her scent and his lip curled in a silent snarl.
"He's lying, or you're lying. There's no one at the mill this late. Where is he?" Keller pulled up one of the chairs beside her and gave her a small smile as he sat and leaned on his knees close enough for her to hear for him to catch her if she bolted suddenly. "We just want to talk to him," he said, bringing attention to Luke behind her.
Luke walked up at a casual pace, though part of him simply wanted to pounce and rip her lying throat out. As he got closer something in her scent tickled his nose, there was more to what she wasn't saying and he reconsidered his first idea.
Lola looked over her shoulder and sighed again, her head shook and she swung her gaze back to the one in front of her. She finished off what was in her glass smacking her lips a little as she dropped the glass into her other hand in her lap. "Ohhh no one's at the mill this late... geee everyone seems to know that huh? Hmm, I guess I'm lying.. and he's lying.. it's what we do around here lately. Lie, Lie, and lie some more while wearing cheap ass cologne." She shook her head and glared at Keller though she wasn't angry at him in any way. "He's not here.. he's a very important and busy man.. you'll just have to wait to talk to him."
"Not good enough," Keller said, watching Luke a moment. It wasn't time to just hit and run yet. He seemed to get that and Keller turned his attention to her drink. "You always drink alone, then? Where is he, really? Sleeping? Watching the game?" He'd smelled the cologne and wondered now if that part was true. If so, he needed to know where he'd gone. "Why don't we just go give him a commercial break, hm? Luke, go inside and find him."
Luke nodded and headed into the open door of the house, he didn't stop when the woman spoke up to tell him not to. She wasn't his boss, even if it was her house, he was kind of grinning as he slipped through the very nice kitchen.
Lola scoffed at Keller at first as he told her that her answer wasn't good enough for him. "Yeah, nothing of mine is good enough lately." She muttered and looked down at the empty glass, her head shook. "No I don't.. not that it's any of your business.. He's not here!" Her voice rose only a little to make her point as he sent the other boy inside. "Hey! You can't just go in there! I told you he's not here.." She dropped the glass into the chair as she stood up to chase after Luke and get him out of her house. "You and your friend need to leave!" She snapped at Keller as she went to step around the chair he'd pulled up.

"We will, but not yet," Keller said, reaching out to pull her back into her chair, or into his own. "Once we talk to Harry, then we'll leave. You won't hear another peep from either of us. For now, sit," he insisted.
"What.. I don't want to sit!" She pushed at Keller as he grabbed for her, tumbling herself awkwardly into his lap. "What is so important that you need to talk to him right this second? Does he owe you money? Ohh wouldn't that just be the frosting on the cake! Let go of me."
"Not letting you go. Sorry, it's not money. He owes us far more than that. If he's not here we may have to get it from you," he said, sitting back with her and keeping her off balance although the drink had given that a good start. She smelled little of worry for Harry and more for the intrusion into her house. "Why should he not look if Harry is not here? What are you hiding?"
His comment startled her through the tipsy feeling from the drink and she stared at him for several moments, a bit of fear crawling over her skin. Something else kicked to life inside her and she started to try and twist herself out of his grasp. "You're not getting anything from me! You want whatever he owes you? Go to the motel and take it out of him and his wh*re!!"
Keller chuckled and held tighter. The fear smelled better on her than her drink. "When we're sure he's really not here," he said, holding her easily and stroking her hair back from her face. "What would he need a wh*re?" He was genuinely perplexed that Harry would skip out on her.
Lola looked like she might spit venom at him, her breath huffing out in an angry sigh. "Why don't you ask him that? He's the one at the motel with her!" She jerked her head to toss her hair around after he smoothed it back, her anger sparking her defiance and the fiestiness that had dulled in the years she'd been married to Harry.
Luke came back through the doorway though he stopped just outside, his head tipping to the side as he watched Keller with the woman held in his lap. "She wasn't lying about him not being here. I checked the whole house.. did she tell you where he is?"
Keller harumphed, shocked that it hadn't all been lies. She wasn't just covering for her husband. "No, she wasn't lying. How about that? She says he's at the motel with a friend. I don't think she likes his choice of friends very much."
"She doesn't." She confirmed, her mouth set in an unhappy line. "Are you satisfied now?" Lola snapped the words out and once again tried to twist out of Keller's strong grasp. She was hurt but by nothing he'd done, it was the betrayal from her husband that made insides twist.
Luke nodded his head, his eyes flowing over the woman and his nose crinkling a little with her scent. "I guess we should go to the motel then. What do you want to do with her?" Killing her would not be justice if her husband had taken another mate, at least that's what he assumed they meant.

"Go on without me and bring me back a doggie bag if there's anything left of them," Keller suggested, chuckling a little as she struggled. "What happens to this one depends on a few more questions I have for her first. I think Harry's mistress isn't his only poorly kept secret. I don't think she knows about our brother."
"Go on without you?" Luke was shocked by that turn of events and he scratched the back of his head, he slowly stepped further out on the patio. He gazed off in the direction of the motel and then glanced to Keller again. "You sure? We could always come back for her.."
Lola had no idea what he meant about thier brother but she paled with the only thought that came to her. With her knowledge of his recent activities, her head spun with the idea of him having another affair.. "Your brother?" Maybe she shouldn't have had so much to drink!
"It must be her perfume. I like it," he said, turning to look at Luke who seemed confused. Luke was a younger pup and maybe her scent didn't turn his crank like it did Keller's. Considering he'd spent the afternoon listening to Marc in the bunk next door, Keller's crank could have been turned by the smell of dirt right now, but there was definitely something about the girl. He turned back to the woman who was struggling against her thoughts as well as his grip now. "Shhh, shhh. Our brother... may he rest in the pieces your husband helped leave him in," he clarified a little. "We just came to repay the favor. I think breaking his little toy would hurt him more than hurting you. Make sure it does, Luke."
"Alright.." He was still hesitant to leave but only for a few seconds and then he took off at a jog across the yard, he jumped over the fence and disappeared into the darkness.
Lola was left speechless as Keller explained a little bit about why they wanted Harry and what they had planned. She was angry enough herself to want to do him and his mistress harm but to find out someone else wanted to do that too was fairly shocking. What they said he did was more so and she looked between the two of them, they were quite serious. They'd come here to hurt her to get back at Harry? She watched the younger boy take off and wondered herself about what this one wanted to do with her now.
He chuckled as Luke disappeared. "You're going to need another drink to celebrate your divorce," he suggested. "Tell me your name."
"I think I need another drink regardless." She replied softly, her gaze slowly turning to his face after the other one left. They knew Harry but not what her name was.. that actually made things slightly less frightening, only slightly. "Lola."
"Lola? Very nice. That... was Luke. I'm Keller and you and I are going to become very good friends. Let's go inside, quietly, and get you another drink," he suggested, standing beside her, tall and lean with a wolfish look to his eyes that caught the light now and then with a strange tint.

"We are? Why because we have something in common? We both want to rip Harry's innards out.." She spoke dryly, holding him for balance as he stood and she slid out of his lap to get back on her feet again. She let go of him quickly and tried to step away, to turn and run for the door, she couldn't just.. give up or in when she knew his original intent had been to 'break' her.
He was quick with an arm around her waist, holding her back and spinning himself around her to block her path. "Not a good way to begin," he warned, the light flashing through his eyes though it was behind him. "You're not running away and yes, we share that and more than you can imagine in common. You're strong and very quick. That's very good."
He was the one who actually spun yet she felt like she had with how quick he grabbed her and was in front of her. She gasped and started to step back but with his arm firmly around her waist she couldn't go anywhere. The way he spoke, telling her she wasn't running away made her believe that she wouldn't get away if she tried again. Lola nodded just a little as if to agree with him, her heart raced and she tried to keep her breath calm and even, she needed to keep herself from panicing so she could think. "I heard what you and your friend said.. you came here to break me to get back at Harry.. and you don't think I'm going to try to get away from you?"
He laughed a little. "Mainly just Harry. I changed my mind about hurting you as soon as I smelled your perfume. Luke wouldn't understand it, but you, I think you would. Harry is doubly stupid first to cross me and family, but worse... because he left you behind."
She tried to be tough but it hurt and she turned her head to the side, shaking her it a little as she reached up to wipe the tears from the corners of her eyes, she wasn't going to cry. "It was supposed to be forever.. or at least all of our lives, not just till I got a little older and he got himself a younger model. I guess he doesn't like my perfume anymore." She took his compliments with mixed feelings, it was hard to feel beautiful when your self esteem had been crushed under the heel of someone you loved. "Thank you for changing your mind about hurting me... you have anything to make me forget about Harry and how shitty he made me feel?"
Keller had many things in mind to help her forget. "You seem to be doing alright knowing that he's never coming back to hurt you, himself, but I think you can do better," he said, fanning his fingers over her side and leaning closer to smell her neck. "I would not let you go like he did."
Her breath caught as his fingers fanned and she felt him inhale near her neck, it took her a moment or two to find her voice and her thoughts. "That's because I'm too angry with him for being stupid to care whether he gets hurt.." She closed her eyes, there was something in the way he said he wouldn't let her go and the way he curled around her that made her want to forget Harry and believe in what Keller told her. She could feel the warmth of his hand through her clothes and feel his breath as they stood close, she was absolutely insane for thinking what she was.. but she turned her face and tried to kiss him.

She didn't need to try very hard to find his kiss. Keller returned it willingly and nearly swept her off the concrete. He was more than warm beside her and the kiss was heating him up more. "Forget the drink," he suggested at her ear, kissing her neck. He glanced at the pool. "Do you swim? Come swim with me."
Lola sighed, even his breath was so very warm, it soothed and chilled her at once. Was this wrong? Her husband had made his choice and taken another to his bed, did that make it alright for her to do the same? Her marriage was over, she knew that and on the one hand it devestated her and on the other it freed her. She slowly reached for Keller, nodding and turning to bring his kiss back to her lips again, nipping gentle pecks over his stubbled cheek along the way. "It's too cold to swim." She protested but her hands slid toward his buttons. "I don't have my suit on.. I'm too old for skinny dipping.." The protests were weak at best, though the last was more genuine, playing into the hurt and doubt Harry had caused with his affair with a younger woman.
"A lady never reveals her age," he teasingly reminded her, not caring how old she truly was. He toyed with the hem of her top. "Who else is here? You don't need a suit. I will keep you warm."
"If I go swimming without my suit, I won't have to." She laughed and unlike the times before this one sounded more genuine, like she really was teasing. She pushed his shirt open and groaned softly as she glanced down. "Of course you have to be all.. perfect.." She wasn't disappointed in the least but after having a less rippled man cast her off, she worried that she wouldn't be good enough.
"I run," he shrugged, almost apologizing for his physique. "But I will not run away," he promised, slipping his fingers beneath the blouse. "Show me," he asked gently.
He promised not to run away and her head tipped down, her breath exhaling softly over his skin as she pushed his shirt down his shoulders. She lifted her gaze to his face again, her smile was a little more shy than her earlier fiestiness might have made him expect but she nodded and lifted her arms so he could slip the shirt off.
He pulled her free of the top and pulled her close again. "Not a day over twenty five," he said, sliding his fingers down her back. "Don't be shy, Lola," he muttered, kissing up her neck and backing up toward the pool with her.
She let her eyes close again and her head tilted back slightly to encourage his kisses along her neck which were sending delightful chills over her skin. He was excellent with his flattery, she hadn't been twenty five for what felt like a long time but if that was what he saw, "Then tonight I'll be twenty five." She murmured, shifting her leg up to pull her shoes off without having to pull away from him. She'd been more carefree, confident, and less worried about how she looked when she was younger... ah the freedom of youth. Tonight she'd forget the years that had passed since and be the girl she used to be. "I won't be shy." She promised him with a slight laugh and her eyebrow arching up as if warning him just before her hands slid over his arms and shoulders, eagerly exploring his well kept form. She nipped softly at his lips as one hand curled into the hair at the back of his neck.

She surprised him with the change in her tone and the loss of her fear. His own breath caught as her fingers trailed up his neck and into his hair. "How did you know I love that?" He chuckled and nipped back at her lips. He was ready to jump in the water even with his jeans on.
Her laugh had grown more natural each time the sound came and this time the giggle rang out true with nothing held back and kissed him again. "I didn't.. I'm just good like that!" She gave him a gentle shove and reached to undo the button on her jeans, she was slim and strong, quick to kick the pants aside. Lola reached behind her to undo the clasp and the lace sailed at him, that was when she turned, her thumbs hooking into the sides of her panties to send them sliding down her legs. It was also so she could see where she was going so she didn't slip and hurt herself, she dove into the pool and came up with a gasp at the cold water.
Yes, she was very good like that and at how she slipped away from him to jump in the pool to wait for him. The only problem with the water was how it took her beautiful scent away from him for the moment. Keller was in not such a great hurry to avoid being seen. He stepped out of his jeans and stretched, expecting the cold water to affect him momentarily. She would be able to see in the dim light how she'd affected him and that there was nothing shy about him. He looked around the pool area then dove in, cleanly and expertly disappearing in front of her to slither beneath the surface to come up just behind her again. He didn't play or splash, rather embracing her and holding her against him. "You're perfect," he said, feeling how the water slipped over her skin under his fingers.
"Woah.." She whispered as he undressed and she could see him even in the dim light out here, her eyes widened a little and she bit at her lower lip. He dove in as she tred water and she watched him as much as she could, he came up behind her and she happily slid into his embrace. She rested back against him with her head against his shoulder, it shook a little as he said she was perfect though she smiled at the way he gave the compliment and how his fingers slid over her skin. "Mmm mm I think you might be."
"You don't believe me? Turn around," he requested, kissing her shoulder and letting her loose enough to spin around to face him. He was more convinced by the moment with how she responded to him that she was quite perfect for him. He'd decided that before they left the water that she would be bitten and kept, but first, he had a promise to keep to help her forget the man who'd hurt her. He had just the thing to do that.
"I believe you think so.. I just don't think I am.." She explained with a slight chuckle and a sigh as he let her loose so she could turn, she was comfortable resting against him. Lola spun herself and wrapped her arms around his shoulders.

"I do think so. If you could leave this place, would you?" He asked, stroking her thigh and coaxing her to tangle with him.
Her head tilted to the side a little as he asked his questions and she thought about her answer. "It's just a house Keller.. sure I like it but.." She shrugged and didn't quite laugh. "The house isn't what's important.."
"Then come stay with me," he offered, guiding her knee to his hip.
She wrapped around him without too much coaxing since she liked being close to him, she smiled softly as she thought about his offer. "For a night.. a few days.. forever?"
She would find that the cold water hadn't deterred him for very long as she curled around him. He teased her with that fact as he nodded, "Yes, yes and yes. Forever, tomorrow, tonight, weeks, years.. the rest of your life. I promise it will be an adventure."
"This might sound a little... crazy, but... kiss me and then I'll answer you." It was silly when she said it but she'd always believed you could tell by the way a man kissed you if he meant it or not. That was the first thing that had clued her in about Harry, the way he kissed her changed.
"Not odd at all," he muttered, presenting himself gently as he demanded her kiss. His offer was genuine and he hoped she would agree as he helped her to settle.
She let him lead with the kiss at first so that she could find out what she needed but what it told her sparked something within her and she took over. Clinging to him in the water as he shifted and she settled, her mouth shared her passion with him. This time she purposely slid her fingers into his hair, he'd demanded and she gave, now she demanded and took his kisses hungrily. Lola pulled back enough to breathlessly answer him. "Yes.. I'll go with you.. stay with you.. I'll pack a bag and we're gone.." She nodded into more kisses, she didn't care where they went.

******************************** About an hour laterHis promise to her had been completely satisfying and the time was nearly right. The water around them rippled and lapped gently as he held onto her and watched her red hair flow out behind her shoulders. "There's something else I want to share with you," he whispered, kissing her neck. Lola was cold and tired after almost an hour in the pool that was too cold for swimming to begin with. She'd been distracted during the height of their passion but holding herself on the side of the pool half out of the water for so long was not something she ever did and it made her arms sore, making swimming more difficult as well as adding to the chill. She shivered, her teeth chattering slightly as she tried to make her way further along the the shallow end to the stairs so she could get out. "Can we share it inside? I'm freezing.." He still felt warm but she had goosebumps even in the water! All she wanted was to wrap up in a towel and then a blanket.Keller seemed undeterred by the chill as he skimmed through the shallows beside her, eager to play more. "It would warm you up," he said, trying to lure her away from the steps. "But if you insist, we can go inside. Should wash the pool water out before it streaks your hair... or mine," he said with mock horror over such a thing. "Can think of several things to help keep you warm, actually." She stopped swimming, letting her feet touch the bottom though the water was still up to her shoulders where they were. "Aren't you cold?" She asked, turning part way to look at him with a slight laugh as if he were teasing by saying she needed to be warmed up and not both of them. He couldn't still be as warm as he seemed.. could he?"Not at all," he confirmed, even his eyes seeming warm and fire-lit as he looked her over. "If it was snowing, I might shiver, but I like the other kind of chills, your chills better. You can pack later," he suggested, though he was considering waiting. Her teeth were chattering and that might lead to panic or shock. Maybe it was too soon. For a second she forgot about being chilled and was thinking about how she'd like him to help pack.. Lola chuckled and reached to wrap her arm around his shoulders, leaning in to kiss him one more time. "If you hold tight like that you'll warm up in no time," he chuckled, taking the kiss back to her neck. He held tighter, himself, ensuring she couldn't wriggle wildly and drown. "Mmmmm now count to three, make a wish and you'll get a surprise." "I can't believe you're still so warm!" She laughed and held on a little more tightly, sliding herself up against that warmth and wondering if it would really warm her up or if she'd cool him down? He held tighter to her and she humored him, closing her eyes as she counted. "One.. two.. three.."With each number counted, he kissed her neck, then the curve, then her shoulder. He then hugged her tightly with a chuckle and nipped at her tender skin, letting the dark cloud of red filter into the water. "Ow!" She exclaimed at the sharp sting of his nip, she didn't think he'd meant to hurt her but bit too hard and her eyes blurred with tears for a moment before she tried to reach to her shoulder to rub the sting away. "Damn.. that hurts..""Oh?" He seemed shocked that it hurt her with the chill and numbing the pool water had offered. "Allow me to kiss your boo-boo," he teased, doing so and caressing the small puncture with languishing strokes of his tongue.
