September 21, Year 1
Breakfast time
It had been an eventful night and though Charly was part of all the excitement, she had awoken a few times and listened from her door to the different voices and pieced together some of what was going on. Once it was time to get up for the day, Charly dressed in a hurry and rushed down to breakfast, hoping to find out more. Nearly as soon as she saw her eldest brother Rory, she started giving him the third degree about the lady who had stayed in his room last night. "Who's she?... she's pretty... you gonna marry her?" It was the same third degree she gave all her brothers when they were seen with pretty girls.
Patrick was strangely quiet and not joining in the ribbing, as he normally would have.
She'd probably already asked Alex 500 times if he's marrying Ciara.
Every time, he said 'no'... he'll tell her if and when...
She asked him again just because he was at the table this morning.
"Maybe after our third kid..., whaddya think? ..telling her I mean."
Charly sticks her tongue out at him "You're so rotten to me."
"Absolutely. You're the only sister I have to be rotten to."
Leans head on Partick's shoulder, and smiles sweetly. "Make him stop being mean to me"
"Pardon, what?" He snaps back to the going's on in the room.
She adores Alex and Patrick, the wildest and youngest of her older brothers. Gives Patrick an odd look. "Well good morning.. where have you been?" She asks in regard to his 'day dreaming'.
He grinned from somewhere behind the fog, "Right here. Still sleepy headed, I suppose," he muttered, trying not to appear distracted.
"Sleepy headed for sure.. who is going to protect me from Alex if you're off in dreams still?"
"Has he done something?" The tembre of Pat's voice even sounded tinted in dream and fog, thinking of Lily and how best to set things up properly. "You're a strong bit, Charlie... you can whup him fine on your own."
She rolled her eyes and gave him a look. "Big help you are." She turned back to Alex and stuck out her tongue. "See that.. Pat thinks I can whup you."
Alex listened and watched Patrick's expression. Gully hadn't looked up from his plate scarcely at all. "Likely you could whup all of us with a half-ripe asparagus. What's gotten into y'lads?"
