March 17, 2007 8:30 p.m.
The shit slinging had already started in the car on the way with the excitement running a little high like they expected the beer tab would before they were done tonight. The plans had to be hushed or they'd be in deep. Thankfully Biff understood that all too well and cut them the slack tonight, buying them an alibi in exchange for a later favor sometime before they turned 60 ...if they lived that long. The twins' birthday party wasn't at the grill with the basketball playoffs on the big screen like they'd told Richie. He probably didn't buy that anyway, but he didn't say no, so here they were, in the door and already watching the dancers as wolfishly as their accomplice in tow. "Ooooh wow. What a pretty pic this is, man. Ooo," he nudged Ty's arm a little on the hard and excited side as he turned his brother's attention to a girl walking past them with a tray of drinks who was almost as stunning at the girl on the stage. "Think she's one of the dancers too?"
Tyler was just staring at the stage, it wasn't so much that the girl was gorgeous, she was but there were too many girls and so much skin and.. wow! Drake nudged him and he nudged back before turning to stare at the waitress now. "I don't know, but even if she's not, she will be in my dreams for the next month."
"C'mon. You're not wallflowers tonight and this ain't on TV. Get on up there where you can smell 'em," Biff said behind them, angling them toward a reserved table near the stage. "Just be glad I didn't get them to put name tags up there or you'd be Duck and Dork. So anyway... Two rules then you can drool all you want. Don't touch the girls except to tip them and man... if you gotta shoot off, just remember to unzip first."
Drake only half heard him over the beat of the music, far too distracted with one girl then the next that passed his line of sight in the haze. He heard something about name tags and that's what was on his mind, trying to read the ones on the waitresses that passed them. "What's her name?" He turned and leaned on Ty's shoulder, trying to get another look. Ty seemed to be looking everywhere, too.
Tyler only half paid attention to the words his brother was saying, he was busy staring and trying not to drool. He'd caught some of what Biff said and they were heading toward a table closer to the stage. Name? Oh that's right, Drake asked about a name. "Mariah? Sara? I don't know, pick one?"
Biff laughed and gave them up for lost. He flagged down one of the waitresses who smiled like she knew him and whatever he'd said, she agreed to. He then took a seat, waiting for the boys to notice and join him. "Just have a seat and stay put. The pretty girls will come around to you for your drinks."
"Yeah, you see my problem?" He whined to Tyler. "Choices, man... too many!" Come to think of it, the girls could probably see his problem now, too. Good thing they had a table.
"Uh huh.." Tyler agreed and folded into the chair beside his brother, he blushed though he tried not to as he glanced around again. After that his cheeks faded to a more natural complexion instead of flushed. It was an effort to keep it like that and to help him, he distracted himself by teasing Drake. "Smile just right and she'll come dancing right on your table."
There was a thought. He looked around a little more and tried to control himself, but man it was tough. Biff did this all the time? How could he stand it and be so... calm? Ty's suggestion was working on him more and more and he was turning to say something when the girl in pink on the stage caught his attention completely. Her face was like an innocent fairy with a promise of trouble mixed in. He couldn't look away. "Dude, how do I have to smile to get her to dance -with- me?"

Okay that he didn't know but watching Drake become mesmerised by the girl on stage, Tyler felt the need to come up with something. He glanced to the girl and was nearly mesmerized himself, though not as caught as his brother was. Girl was gorgeous as he'd noticed before but he had tastes that were a little different from his brother's. "hmmm ask her?.. maybe even convince her with a soft kiss.."
"What? And get myself b*tchslapped by the bouncer? Are you f*cking nuts?" He looked at Ty like he had two heads. That was a nauseating thought that calmed him down a little to some slightly more rational level. "I got it!" He snapped his fingers and smiled warmly toward the girl.. yeah like she was looking at him? "The girls are coming around for the drinks, right? They could just give her this for me. What do you think?" He scribbled out -coffee later?- on a napkin and set it out.
"But you just might win her affection wouldn't a b*tchslap be worth that?" Tyler countered with a chuckle, he was looking around at the waitresses and the girl on stage, maybe Biff new one of them well enough to get the note passed to her. "I dunno.. you think they will?"
He looked back toward the door they'd come in, seeing the guy bigger than life and all muscle. "Well hell yeah it would be worth it, but his fist is bigger than my head. Did you see that guy? It might be the only kiss I ever give to her... for a week or so anyway."
Tyler sighed, Drake had a point and a good one, besides he didn't want to waste energy healing him tonight. "So.. I'll give her this napkin.. and we'll see.." He made the offer to get closer to the girl and give her the note for his brother.
"Wait! Hang on! Oh.. no.. you.. will.. not!! Gimme that," he said in a panic, then determination as he stole it back. He took a deep breath. "I'll do it," he said, taking another look at the bouncer trying not to pass out - he was already light-headed thanks to the scenery. He scribbled his phone number and name under the message - kinda helped to know who wrote it, he thought. He left the last name off, though. At least if she called him it wasn't because of the family or anything, right? He took it to her himself, tearing off the piece with his number and such, and tucking it in a $5 for her strap. She danced closer for other waving hands beside him with bills waving then within reach to tuck his own in gently... and close enough to steal the kiss! Maybe she knew or maybe his was the only bill bigger than a $1 and he'd bought it. Or he soon would buy it, waiting for the hammer hand on his shoulder any second. "I may die tomorrow," he explained with a brilliant smile of gratitude. "Thank you!"
The dancer smiled at Drake and motioned the bouncer back as he took a step forward to grab the guy who stole a kiss from her. The bouncer nodded and didn't come any closer, though he kept a close eye on things. "Well when you say it like that..." Her fingers slipped into Drake's hair and she bent down over him to to bring a delicious lingering kiss to his lips. The other men watching hooted and and hollored, banging their table tops and cheering the lucky guy on.
"Mmm... thank you again. One helluva birthday, thanks. Thank you... um.. how many ways would you like me to say it?" All his theater training came to a screaching halt and he blushed furiously then, noticing the hollers and hoots were about him.
"Happy Birthday, baby.." She giggled softly and leaned to lay another deep kiss on him, giving him a very happy birthday wish, before sliding back up on the stage, her finger trailing across his cheek and over his lips as she moved away. Her smile and her eyes told him they might meet again, then she shifted back into the dance to finish her number.

He was stunned. Beyond stunned, maybe dead and gone to heaven. He couldn't take his eyes off her as he slowly inched back to the nearest empty chair, hoping to fall into it and not on the floor. "Maaaaan... what's a guy gotta do to win her?"
"I don't know.." Tyler's voice was quiet as he moved next to his brother and patted him lightly on the back. "That was sooooooooo awesome!"
The dancer finished her number a few minutes later and blew kisses to the cheering audience as she moved off stage. She had a slight bounce in her step as she went out of view. Angel went out back to change and found a name and number written on a napkin tucked in a bill on her strap. Curious, she dialed the number on her cell and waited while it rang.
"Hello?" He answered the buzz in his pants, but didn't recognize the number and couldn't hear well, still being dazed and too near the stage. "Hang on.. I can't hear.. just a sec." She'd know he was still there, hearing the music from up front.
"Hello.." She spoke up and stood up, smiling a little. "Alright.." She was getting dressed quickly as she waited for him to move to where he could hear her better.
He didn't dare leave completely for fear he'd miss seeing the blonde when she left. He moved to the far end of the bar away from the speakers at least. "Hello? This is Drake..."
"Drake... I really like that name... " She tied her sneakers and smiled a little shrugging into her leather jacket. "So.. someone gave me your number.. guess they thought we should meet sometime.. you know go out or something?"
"That's nice you like it, thank you. Do I get your name too?" He heard the rustling and was curious. Listening closer, he heard a bit of an echo of the beat from the music in the room. "My number? Huh... I won-... wait... where are you?"
"Where are you?" She giggled softly, her laugh sounding bubbly and sweet. "I'm in the hall at the moment.." She told him as she stepped from the dressing room, her tiny wallet of a purse slung diagnol across her torso under her jacket. The napkin was safely tucked into the purse as she walked, he'd hear the echo of the music a little louder now.
"The hall where? Did my number have a note with it... something about coffee? Miss....?" He started to look around, hearing the music through the phone, he was sure of it. Could it be her? Or did she just pass off the note to some other girl in the back to throw him off. "I'm... waiting for someone."
"Really? Thats too bad.. I was hoping you might want to grab a quick bite or coffee.. I just got off work.. and.. well.. maybe some other time?" She paused near the side of the room scanning it to see if she could spot 'him'. "Oh.. I'm sorry.. my name is Angel.. " She chewed her lip, looking around and starting for one of the side doors.
"No... I mean... if my number had the note... you're the one I'm waiting for... Angel. I like that name," he smiled, hoping she didn't just hang up. He turned back toward the stage, hearing the music now almost in stereo... "Wait... don't leave. I'm up here at the front." Please don't leave, he murmured, standing on the bar rail to raise up a little more. He didn't want to wave her down exactly, but saw her heading to the side door.

"So it's kind of cold and loney out here and who knows what kind of creeps might come snatch me up?.. I really should have an escort.."
"Yeah you should, but you may just have to do with me," he said, partly out loud behind her as he followed out the door to speak directly. "I'm not one of the first type, doll, trust me."
"So you don't want to snatch me up?" She spoke as she walked, hitting end on the phone and slipping it down to hook onto her purse. "What did you have in mind for me then?" She glanced over her shoulder and gave him a small smile. "My car is just over there.. yours?"
"Snatching up, but I kinda take my time," he said, shutting off his own phone and pocketing it away, shrugging his hands in his jacket as he did. "And really... this is as far I got... having things in mind, I mean. Um.. I don't have a car... here."
"Well we're taking my car then." She pointed out the older VW bug and slowed her step down so he could catch up beside her. "So.. you thought it out to here.. and we're here.. so now what do you feel like?"
"A jerk for not having my own car. I'm sorry," he said, his eyes warm and gentle, not an ounce of 'creep' to be found. "Beyond that... I think coffee or .. I dunno... something sweet? Whoa, I mean... like going someplace for something sw... you know like a coffee shop.. with sweet stuff? I don't want to make it sound like all I want is just...," he couldn't take his eyes off her as he stammered worse, trying to say was just wasn't coming out right.
She giggled softly, shaking her head as he stammered and thinking he was adorable. Her finger lifted to press against his lips like she had done when she was onstage and she took a step closer to him. "Shhh relax, baby.. breathe and forget that I just shook my altogether in your face. Take a good look at me now.. I'm just a girl and you're just a guy, and we're just going for coffee." Her smile shone warm and soft, genuine as she gazed into his eyes. She'd changed into jeans that hugged and a tiny tee that just covered and left a tiny bit of room, then her jacket over that, her hair was finger combed to rest in natural slight waves and curls.
"Um..no, you're not and yeah, I am," he shook his head gently. "Your um... well your 'altogether' as you put it is pretty damn well put together and I'm just a mess. I don't know what I'm doing out here. You probably have a boyfriend waiting on you. Oh shit... hey, can you .. would you... wait here. I have to tell my ride if I'm leaving... you'll stick around? Please?"
She glanced over to her car and nodded, then looked back at him with a soft smile, she was blushing a little and he's see it in the light of the lamppost in the corner of the lot. "I'll get the car warmed up.." She bit her lip and sighed. "You're not blowing me off are you? Cause if you want to jet it's cool, you know.. I'll live with the rejection.. but if I sit in the car waiting.. and you just took off on me.. I'd be pretty pissed ..So if you're ditching me just tell me now before I get my hopes up and waste my time waiting for you not to come back out."
"Well... I can call them from out here and waste my minutes," he offered, giving her a look that said that was a ridiculous thought. "Or, you can come with me, but you can bet they won't let either of us leave before we get a world of grief... or... you trust me that I'm not blowing you off and I promise I'll be right back." The jitters had worn off and the bravery hit as he took a step closer.

She took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "Okay.. I'm going out on a limb and being really brave.. I'll trust you.. " Her eyes darted around a little then settled on his face, inching closer to him a bit.
"So am I," he murmured, taking the moment to steal a kiss if she'd let him.
Her eyes shuttered, her lips parted gently, and her hand lifted to rest against his upper arm as she stepped into the kiss, returning it softly.
"You know what... screw 'em... they'll figure it out, right? Let's just go."
"Are you sure?" She licked her lips lightly still tasting his kiss there.
"I have no idea, but I don't want to move away from your side right now, if that's okay. It's a pleasure to meet you, Angel." His hand slid from his pocket, offering to take hers. "They're smart.. when they're sober. They'll figure it out."
"I think it's pretty okay with me." She smiled, curling her hand into his and turning so she was beside him and facing her car again. "Let's blow this popsicle stand."
"After you.... and thanks... for in there and this," he said, following her, hand in hand. "No one's ever... well... like a stage kiss, but not like... you're something else, doll."
"Oh hunny I'm nothing special.." She shook her head. "I'm just a girl... you know..?" Her keys clanged softly as she pulled them out to unlock the car doors. "..and I don't do stage kisses.. just for the record.. a kiss is a terrible thing to waste."
"Uh huhn...," he nodded, fully in agreement. "That's what I mean. That wasn't, which really means a lot. Tons... you have no idea," he murmured, waiting for the click of the lock and popping the door open so he could relax that 'lot' a little.
"I was there for the kiss.. bet I have some idea.." She winked and scooted around the front of the car to get in on her side, letting him ease into the car how he was comfortable. Once she was in her seat, belt clicked and keys in the ignition she flashed a pretty smile his way. "Well.. I'm prety much brand new in town.. where's a good place to go and tell me how to get there from here?"
"Um... well... you know what. It doesn't have to be any place really. How about the gas station even? They have sweet stuff... and coffee, which I don't really need and probably shouldn't have... you're warned," he grinned.
"You wanna hang out at the gas station?" She grinned a little, putting the car in gear. ".. and why shouldn't you have coffee?"
"What? No.. god, no. What I meant was get something there, then we can go wherever... wherever you want. Hell, you can go do that anyway. I'm going wherever you are," he mused, reminding gently that being in the car, he didn't have much choice, really.
"I did mention that I was new in town? I know the circle from my place to work and back and forth.. The only place I can take us.. is my place." She shrugged and looked over at him, she didn't have a problem going there if he didn't.

"Only place I'd have is back there or home and I'm new to your place, so... did I mention it's my birthday? Seriously... eigh-... um...," he started to explain he was only 18, but then he'd have to explain how he got into the club in the first place.
She started driving, glancing at him with a playful grin. "Eigh.. hmm definately not eight..." She tapped her lip with a fingertip and chuckled. "Wow.. you look darn good for eighty!"
"Yeah well, my dad's a doctor, what can I say?" He kinda groaned it out, embarrassed on both counts. "A'ight, so I'm 18, okay? If you want to just dump me out on the corner, I understand."
Her brow furrowed a little and she shook her head. "Why would I wan to dump you out on the corner?"
He turned, giving her a confused look beneath the twenty shades of pink he was suddenly wearing that felt like it would burn through to his skull any minute. "That doesn't bother you? That I'm just a kid? Not 21 like I should be to be in there? f*ck, man... still in f*cking high school," he groaned quietly. His dad was going to kill him, he just knew it.
"So.. you're older than I am.." She said it so softly he might not have fully caught it, her fingers digging into the wheel. Her heart was pounding, why had she even told him that? What if he ratted on her?
"No way," he chuckled, shaking his head. "Thanks... you don't need to make me feel better like that. Hey, there's a station on that corner. You need to fill up this little guy here? My treat... what else you want? Cookies? Chips? Anything?"
She didn't say much of anything, growing very quiet as she drove the rest of the way to the station and pulled in. "I'm fine.. thanks."
"Cigarettes? Hey... you okay? What... what did I say? I said something stupid didn't I?"
"No.. thanks.. I'm fine.." She glanced out the window and then back at him. "You didn't say anything stupid.. ok.. I did.. It's done now though.. I'll be over it by the time you come back out.. promise."
"Okay. Hey... um... Angel?" He stayed a moment, hoping that she'd turn back to look at him.
"Yeah...?" She replied softly, turning her face towards him.
"Promise you won't say anything to your boss or anything... cuz I really liked your show and I want go see it again... anytime I can," he said, hoping she wouldn't rat him out at the door for being underage, not even realizing she was afraid of him doing the same.
She laughed, shaking her head gently and sighing out loudly after a moment. "You seriously don't .. yeah that's the last thing you have to worry about. I won't tell on you if you don't tell on me.. okay?"
He got it after a moment and the grin curled up behind the blush again. "What? No way. I wouldn't say a word. Well hell, who would I tell? I mean I wouldn't anyway," he shook his head and leaned over the tiny area over the brake to kiss her. "No way, doll... secret's kept. Have a damn lot of those... this is definitely one I'm not sharing... or this one," he hinted at not wanting to share her with anyone either, smiling gently against her soft lips.

"Really? You wouldn't?" She let out a relieved giggle and leaned up wrapping around him and pulling him into a half tackle in the seat. She smiled happily, her eyes lighting up as she bit her lower lip shyly then dove into another tender lingering kiss.
"Daaamn girl," he chuckled quietly, baby blue eyes lighting up to a pale steel. "Who needs sweet, when I got sugar right here. Heh...and you asked... about me and coffee? Well.. caffeine... I'm a theater nut. I live off the stuff, but I've been known to chase unsuspecting stage hands with hammers and walk blindfolded on the railing of the catwalks for fun. It might be hazardous to your health."
She shrugged at his warning and smiled a bit, curling into him a little as they half laid againt the seat. "Yeah and I dance naked, sing in the shower, and love old musicals. We all have our hobbies."
"Well I do those, too, but usually not around company. You sure you don't want anything? I'll be right back, I promise."
"Who said I was letting you go anywhere?" Her eyebrow arched and she twisted and contorted herself to move over him then straighten out in his lap.
"I guess I'm not going anywhere at the moment," he smiled up at her. "Um... are you... doing what I think you're doing? Cuz if you are... man, you really are an angel."
"Depends on what you think I'm doing.." She smiled, nibbling his lips softly with hers and sliding her fingers through his hair. "It is your birthday.. so if I could grant you a wish.. what would you wish for?" She whispered licking at his lips and teasing him, her hips slid and rocked her gently in his lap as she moved her kisses from his lips to his neck and ear, then back again.
"A wish? Like anything? In a car, with a hot girl... a hot, beautiful girl... and she wants to know what I'm wishing? Doll, you're somethin'," he chuckled softly, trying to watch her, but responding to each nibble with heavier blinks. "Come closer and I'll tell you," he murmured, testing and touching, liking the way the curve of her hips fit his hands just so.
"In a car in a dim corner, with a girl, on your birthday.. just tell me cherry is your favorite flavor and I may just give you the best dream of your life." Her fingers drifted down over his and slid one hand over her to the waist band of her jeans. She left his fingers there with his invitation and let her hands go back to working him up and enjoying learning the contours of him beneath the shirt and the curve of his cheek, line of his jaw.. everything. His hair was soft, though slicked back and begged for her fingers to slide into it.
"I love cherry," he grinned, his eyes closing under the caress of her fingers in his hair. Whatever she'd hit, she hit it good and sent his nerves flaring. He hoped she didn't notice the slight tremble in his fingers, or that the small space was getting quite steamy already with the help of his fingertips over her skin releasing the vapor of her sweetness to the air around them. The button was undone gently, followed by slow movement of his fingertip downward over her skin that lowered the zipper slowly. "I wish...," he grinned, reaching for her kiss.
The kiss was the kind that made you curl your toes and tremble, she intended to fufill every desire he had tonight. While keeping him in the kiss, she shifted and moved gently, by the time they parted for a breath, her jeans had been pulled off and dropped in the back seat. His angel left in his lap in only a lacey thong and the tiny tee she'd worn out of the club, smooth soft skin for his hands to caress and explore. Noticing the reaction to her fingers in his hair, she smiled and curled her fingers to keep him close to her tender nibbling kisses.
He heard the flop of fabric and felt her settle back that much closer. He opened his eyes as he gathered his breath, glancing over his shoulder first then looking back at her. "Daaaaaamn," he sighed out softly, his eyes shining brightly in adoration of every inch, though the fog on the windows was making it that much dimmer in their dark corner of the lot. Her fingers were back in his hair and he was learning every inch of her he could reach. It was a fair game and he wanted her to learn him, too, taking one of her hands as she had his, bringing it down his chest and letting her explore further.
His buttons were undone with deft fingers of one hand as the other still held him tenderly to her kisses. though her mouth drifted away from his now and then to explore his neck and nibble his ear, she would soon return with sweeter kisses for his lips. Her hand pushed his shirt open and down his shoulders a little, she smiled letting her eyes take him in, shadowed and soft in their dim hideaway.
