November 9, 2008 Local Bar
"What do you think of the brunette there by the bar....."
"So far out of your league you're in the wrong sport, sport..."
"s'at so?"
laughs and puts down his drink. "I can't bear to watch you get so scathingly ripped when she turns you down... I've got things to do, women to kiss.. don't worry, not her..."
"Mmm hmm... " Iain drinks his own down and goes after the beauty on his own.
She had a short skirt to go with that nicely cut top, with heels that make her legs look even more fantastic and give her a little extra height. Sitting at the bar, she looks slight bored and very unimpressed with those around her. Plays with the cherry in her drink.
Another few quips were quietly bandied between the boys, Iain finally giving his friend a friendly single-fingered send off, raising his empty glass to ensure if nothing else, he was getting at least another refill. He slipped up beside the girl on the stool... easily enough done considering his slight build, though his desire to stand close in the tight space helped. She looked beautiful down to the toes of her shoes that were likely to crush his heart the minute he spoke. Delaying that inevitable, he called out to the bartender, swirling the air in his empty glass before setting it down and turning to her with a smile as he waited, leaning on the bar a little, more to ensure the large man on the stool behind him didn't push him further into her lap. Then again.. He held the bar a little less tightly as he finally spoke to her. "Busy place," he chuckled out... no pick up lines, no pick up lines, he repeated, trying his best to behave, but it was damned hard with her neckline that drew his attention downward slightly.
The pretty girl pretended she didn't notice him as he came up beside her, she didn't turn her head to look at him. He was tall but kind of skinny though not easy to miss especially so close and with the threat of ending up in her lap if the brute behind him moved just right. In such a place, dressed like she was, it was hard not to call attention to herself but she didn't want the attention of the wrong people and that was a tough balance to keep. The tall man spoke and she finally turned her head slightly with a faint smile. "Seems to be, doesn't it?" She answered him politely, not too friendly but not rude or stand offish, more cautious. She shifted her hand to brush her hair back over her shoulder which called attention to her graceful neck and the cut of her shirt which was enticing to begin with.
He followed her movements with a flick of a glance and did his best not to stare. The bartender was quick at least, distracting him from that fate for the moment. He turned for his drink, counting the milliseconds of hope that she wouldn't get off the stool and walk away before he turned back. "More than usual at least. Must be a lockdown at the sector gate. Can't leave, might as well drink? Or something. Cheers to the policers," he said with a sarcastic curl of his smile, lifting his glass to tap hers.

"Oh.. you haven't heard? Well I suppose most haven't.. Unless you live somewhere near here, plan on sleeping in the bar." She shrugged a little, chuckling in a way that hinted she might be sleeping there and lifted her glass to drink to his toast.
"Most haven't heard what?" His attention was immediate and intense, the type that focused on small details that hinted he believed she wasn't simply joking... a dangerous thing for her either way. He was pushed a little more toward her as the man behind him did move. His voice was brought closer to her creamy length of inviting neck... even though vampirism was a myth, he fantasized a moment about such stories and the consideration of her spending the night... somewhere other than home, from the sound of it. "Is the sector closed?"
"Aren't you a quick study.." She smiled a little more as she spoke, finding him closer and barely feeling his breath tickle her neck as they were brought together in the crowded bar. "Might be.. but I couldn't tell you if it was because thats not something -we- would know. They don't tell us little people those kind of things." Her voice dripped with sarcasm on some of her words, she was pissed about some part of how she knew what she knew, perhaps hurt and insulted. Disgusted to some extent and worried about the situation itself and how she'd manage being stuck here for the night and maybe longer.
"We..? But -you- do know something," he said, staying near her ear a moment and drinking up her sarcasm like cream. He leaned back once there was room again and smiled, waiting for an answer though his brilliant blue gaze seemed to drill for it regardless. "Rather than tell me that, will you tell me what sector -is- home since it sounds like it's not this one."
She felt the pleasant chill that rippled through her from his breath on her ear, she laughed softly and shook her head as he moved back. She downed the rest of the liquid in her glass, holding it up and signaling to the bartended for another. "What does it matter? I'm not getting back there anytime soon." Her gaze swung back to the blue eyes that dug into her seeking what information their owner desired. "So I might as well drink up.. right?"
"On me. Please... for your inconvenience," he offered sincerely, watching her loathe of the situation flow out comfortably it seemed. "It doesn't matter, honestly, but I was hoping for something easy to talk about. If you don't mind me talking to you. Do you?"
She had already finished off a few and was starting to feel the effects, she almost laughed at the thought that passed through her mind as he offered to buy her drink. What else might she get on him for her troubles? He was a bit thinner than the guys she usually admired but he had gorgeous eyes and didn't seem to mind her obvious dislike of 'things'. She shrugged gently, giving him a good looking over, not even bothering to hide the way her eyes moved up and down him a few times. She smiled as her gaze rose up to his again. "To be honest, five minutes ago, I minded anyone talking to me.. but.. if you give me one good reason why I should entertain your company - other than a free drink, I'll give you my attention for the rest of the evening."
"A safe place to stay that isn't under a table in here?" He shrugged a little in return and sipped down the feeling of temporary insanity with the fire of his strong drink. He pulled the sting off his lip with his teeth. "Whether that's a good reason or not, I'll leave for you to decide."
"It's actually a pretty good reason and sort of surprising.. that you'd say a safe place and not... well what some others might.. I like that." Her smile was less 'just there' and warmed a little. "How do I know it's safe?"

"How do you know it isn't unless you entertain my company a while and decide for yourself that you can trust me? A drink first, while I'm still sober enough to pay up for it and the rest... ," he pouted out a 'whatever happens happens' sort of shrug and motioned to the corner where he and Venge had been watching the crowd. "For a start, how about there?"
She glanced to the corner he pointed out ans gave a slight nod. "Mm you're sharp.. I like that too.. Make it a double and I'm all yours.. for the moment." She held up her finger to ammend the statement slightly, not wanting to promise more than that and have it come back and bite her in the ass later when she was much less sober to deal with it.
"Not to worry, I took that every bit as you hoped I wouldn't," he chuckled, then shook his head. "I understand what you meant. Double? Seriously? A woman who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to ask... -I- like that," he admitted with the same sharp smile. He looked at her glass and motioned the bartender over to fill it to her liking.
She laughed a little and slipped off the stool, she was shorter than him even in the heels but with them she didn't have to crane to look at his face. "In that case you might as well bring the whole bottle." She murmured to his ear, leaning so that she was just barely brushing against him and then slipping past him with her freshened glass in hand.
He raised an eyebrow at that, and raised his glass again. "I'll drink to that," he muttered to himself as she slipped on past and he watched her skirt sway above her knees. He turned back to the bar and did ask for a fresh, full bottle then closed the tab before coming to join her. "We'll have to be creative getting this out of here if we don't drink it all," he warned, though he was intent on easily taking his half before leaving.
She slipped into the seat at the table looking much more comfortable than she had while at the bar. "Creative I can do." She smiled and took a sip from her glass, flipping her hair over her shoulder again as she watched him slide up beside her. "Though I'm confident we won't have to worry about that.. least not with the bottle, anyway."
"Yes, you are confident. Something else I like," he said, taking his seat again and looking around the dismally busy crowd that ebbed and flowed around the bar. He turned the warmth up a little with a smile. "Sorry, I should have warned you. I've had a little already... tends to knock a few barriers down."
"Why? I didn't warn you, did I?" She countered with a wink and lifted her glass to him before taking another healthy sip from it. "Barriers are only good for keeping others out, when you don't want to let them in. Maybe we don't need to worry about that so much, hmm?" She glanced at the crowd but it was very brief and as promised, she gave him her attention.
"Maybe we don't." The smile warmed a little more. He wished he'd put money against Venge's insistence that he'd have no luck at all, not that either of them could afford the bet. Iain brushed the edge of her skirt lightly. "And why would that be, d'you think?"
She took another sip from her rapidly disappearing drink and chuckled softly at his question, her gaze locked on his blue eyes as she offered him a warm genuine smile. "I know what I want and I'm not afraid to ask for it." She played his words back to him though they were no less true and she hadn't had enough to drink for it to be the alcohol talking.
"So... go ahead and ask," he suggested, drawing lightly on her thigh. "As long as you ask me," he added with a slight nod, chuckling as he turned for a sip of his drink then set it down now to ignore.

"Ooo.. a little demanding.. kind of bold.. could mean all sorts of interesting things. I like it." She shifted her leg so it was gently draped over his, her skirt moving to bare a little more of her silken skin, she wore no stockings. "Come closer?" She licked her lips and in a sweeter voice asked. "Kiss me?"
Nice thing about bars and their dim lighting.. not that it mattered to him. Her knee lifted over his leg and his hand slid under the skirt's edge, his hand warming her thigh as he rested it flush against her bare skin. His heart skipped a beat at the discovery and her question. She wasn't drunk, she couldn't be yet. How much closer before she pitched him off the seat beside her, he wondered, leaning up to accommodate the second request. He paused a moment, a breath away to whisper, "Kiss you where?" He started with a brush over her lips, letting her consider where his next destination might be.
Her leg curled around his once he'd moved closer, as if she intended to keep him there, she wasn't quite in his lap but it was cozy and the bar was dimly lit. The possibilities sparkled in her eyes as she reached back with a brush of her mouth on his, staying there a moment to nibble. "Mmm that's where you get to decide what you want."
His fingers curled more snuggly around her leg as she nibbled back, feeling the sparks of something familiar, something very real and close to his own heart. She was more than she seemed as well and hid it well until her kiss reacted with his own. Sincerity didn't come often, but it softly tinted his words now. "Someplace safe for the night," he muttered, kissing lightly once more.
The tip of her tongue played with the tingle of his kiss on her lips as if it was still there when she gently pulled away. "So take me there." She wanted to kiss him again but what rippled through her from just that brief exchange was more than enough to tell her the bar wasn't the place for them to be now. It wasn't just his kiss either, there was a slight tingle even where his fingers curled against her thigh.
"We didn't finish our bottle," he reminded her, looking her over. "No place there to hide it. Care to join me in a few shots to keep warm before we go?"
"We didn't even touch our bottle.. I can think of many other ways to stay warm." She leaned to tease his lips with a flick of her tongue and a promise to show him some of those ideas. "Cheers?" She asked as she shifted back and reached for her glass.
She suspended the kiss and he seemed to float after it for more as she reached for her glass. Her suggestions, needless to say, were suspending him more. What could one glass or possibly two do to stop that? He chuckled and pulled himself away to gather the bottle, cracking the seal and filling their glasses. "Cheers," he said to her again. "Iain. Figured you might want the name so you can forget it in the morning," he teased.
"Dakota." She replied with a tilt of her head as she regarded him cooly for a moment, wondering why he'd added his last remark. It was teasing but there had to be something in his past or his present that made him say it and think it. ".. and depending on how the rest of our night goes, I might never forget your name." She quipped back with a wink.
"See, you do know what I want," he teased again, taking a drink. "I'm sure I won't ever forget yours... Dakota... very nice. It suits you."
"Mm but thats not all you want... " She challenged him further with her words and her gaze that didn't falter or judge, but held steady and asked him for more. "Is it?"

"That sounds like a statement, not a question. Ergo, I believe you already have that answer," he grinned and shook his head slightly after a moment. "You're right. It's definitely not all I want. Not since the moment I saw you sitting alone. Now, I have more to the story and I'm sure I don't want to leave you alone."
"Good." Her head nodded and she set her glass down, her hands slipping to rest over the top of his shoulders as she leaned in to steal another taste of his kiss. If they were going to stay to enjoy a few more drinks, then she was going to enjoy some more of him while they were there. "I don't want you to leave me alone... mm.." His mouth was fantastic. "..quite the opposite, really."
"What barriers?" He laughed quietly, ensnaring her gently, letting the tingle and spark of their similarities tickle over her bare sides under his fingertips.
"There are no barriers.. for you." She sighed softly at his ear, kissing his neck and cheek before reaching his lips again. He'd feel the slight shiver that ran through her from his touch, her gift warmed her skin beneath his fingers in response to the tingle and sparks.
He pulled gently to draw her into his lap, delivering a more insistent kiss. Even though her skin was so bare and the bar wasn't exactly well heated, she radiated a warmth he gravitated toward. Iain fanned his fingers across her back, seeking more of it and the answers he hadn't voiced yet. What bag of tricks did this creature hold beyond the kisses that were driving him insane with desire?
It was like she melted into his lap, warm, soft and returning his kiss with equal if not more insistance. It wasn't often that she felt much of a spark with anyone and nothing like the tingles she got from him, she was heating up and it wasn't all her gift at work. The part that was her gift was reacting to whatever was within him along with the want he had awakened in her. The deeply passionate side of her that she kept repressed in her everyday routine came to life beneath his fingers and his kiss.
A hand slapped the wall behind Iain's head followed by a stern, unsympathetic voice. "Get a room, boy! This ain't no stinkin' hotel," he said, though it was quickly followed by a chuckle and a playful push of a fist into Iain's shoulder. "Take this off your hands... since yours are quite, so very, beautifully... mm... full?" He was talking about the bottle though he was adequately distracted by lap full of chest and leg drapped across his friend.
Iain jumped at the sudden thump though the kiss was only slowly abandoned and the voice mostly ignored. "Excuse him," he apologized at her ear. "Must've thought this was the toilet since he's sticking his ass self in unwanted. Give me a minute?"
Dakota didn't exactly jump but the fingers that had been so nicely perched on his shoulders were now dug in, in a tighter grip. She was a little more quick to pull away from the kiss than he was, after all she didn't know the man who interupted them as Iain seemed to. "Of course." She replied quietly to Iain's request for a minute to deal with his friend, she was calmed from the initial startle but the moment had been broken. She gave him a faint smile and gently slid out of his lap, reaching for her drink to help soothe and calm her jostled nerves.

[[Scene edited for content - unedited version continues on our sister site, edited version continues below]] "If I said yes, take it and go... will you?" He asked pointedly to the dark haired man that had interrupted them and helped himself to their drinks. "Me? Go where? Home? Ohhh well that sort of depends now, doesn't it? See if I'm disturbing you now, imagine how disturbing it will be later, her seeing me out of uniform, sir. Shall I make myself absent or ... will you putting a tie on the door to let me know later?" Venge planted his tongue in his own cheek, purposely goading a response from his friend. He cast a lovely, kind smile to Dakota, however. He had no issue with her spending time with Iain, long as she knew what she was in for and she'd apparently done a lot of 'getting to know' in the short time he'd left his friend alone with her.Dakota shone a barely there smile back at the man, very unimpressed with how he seemed to be deliberately trying to get a rise out of Iain. "You couldn't possibly disturb me more than I am already." She sighed, sounding bored with him as she shifted herself back into Iain's lap. "Since you're so annoyingly here right now. Make yourself useful a moment." As she spoke her hands moved in her lap, between her and Iain, it appeared she was straightening her skirt and such but what she was truly doing was a bit of surprise. "Stay right there.." She smiled much more sweetly at the friend as she shifted again. Iain would feel the hidden yet bold movement of her hand and she breathed warmly to his ear. "Do you mind?" Venge watched her slip back into Iain's lap, undaunted by his attempts. He puckered around an unspoken comment and looked around their area for onlookers. Was she doing what he thought? His expression changed to appreciation and approval at once, and relief he hadn't bet Iain on his abilities to attract an angel like her. He moved a little more to block them from view of the main bar, leaning like he was just chatting with Iain. Iain felt the shift of fabric and fingers, widening his eyes at the sudden shock and watching her intently. Did she think he was going to say no? "Not at all. Come closer. It's not your hand I want," he whispered back, not caring that Venge was right there chewing shoe leather as he watched. "This is what I want." She whispered back, her breath warm near his ear as she did just what he asked, shifting closer until there was nothing between them. Her gasp of delight was let out against his neck. Venge didn't need his sensitive hearing to understand exactly what was said or gasped. He was trying not to laugh giddily for his friend's fortune. "You b*tch," he mouthed out around the silent laugh. He looked around again and tried to offer them as much privacy as his own skinny form could manage. If it wouldn't flush the three of them out at once, he could fluff out a cloak of feathers to blanket the other two and keep the chill of the bar off them as well, but the chill seemed to go completely unnoticed. "You're welcome," he eventually muttered down to them, looking intently at the patterns in the advert plaque on the wall behind their bench.Iain couldn't describe the elation or surprise in anything more than a gasp of his own as she settled down, unexpectedly and beautifully. He bit his lip to keep from being loudly surprised, his head leaning back to the wall and looking up to see Venge's comment. He wanted to kick him but didn't want to move anywhere that would disturb her. His eyes closed and Venge was ignored. She'd thank Venge later, at the moment she was too busy trying not to cry out in pleasure, she would almost swear this was just something she was imagining.. Venge didn't bother with a glass, taking a large drink from the bottle he started talking to now, providing conversation and volume to drown out their whispers and happy noises. He seemed to still talk to Iain, telling a long story with no particular direction or meaning. In the meantime, he wondered if it mattered if he did go home to his own half of their flat since she didn't seem to mind him being right there now... long as they didn't end up using his bed with him still in it unless he was getting a chance to share which didn't appear likely. His senses were usually square on and it was clear she liked him and wasn't just sexing him up for kicks.

The small movements made him wish he could move with more wild abandon without the skirt or low collar or their talkative companion he was considering silencing permanently, though he couldn't get any sounds to come out beyond the pleasant hums he curled against her neck.
She all but ignored Venge, the sound of his voice was like a distant drone, at the same time she appreciated his being there to act as a human shield between them and the rest of the bar. She was surprised that he had and continued to do so, he was obviously more than just an annoying ass of a friend to Iain. Dakota was happy to enjoy the current benefit of that as she straddled her happy boy, feeling his hums against her neck. She curled her arms around him, letting him feel and hear her own soft panted breaths near his ear. Venge was right about her genuine like for Iain and that this wasn't just cheap thrills or for kicks, but she didn't have words to even begin to explain it.
She was not stopping, purposely keeping him going and control was not the first thing on his mind. He didn't want control. He wanted to experience any and every sensation this girl could give him and take for herself.
There were so many things she wanted to do to and with him once they left this damn bar, she didn't regret a second of what they'd just shared but had so much more for him once they were in a place they could really go for it. The thought made her laugh again since they had just... "Mmmm.." It was a quiet sound of appreciation and her eyes closed for a moment, to simply enjoy the slow ebbing that was fading sweetly as the both calmed and cooled.
Venge was nearly as breathless from watching though he'd tried not to. He could hear it, smell it and even feel it. His arm against the wall was more than holding him up, it was keeping him immobile since walking would be an uncomfortable chore now and until he could sneak quietly away to a landing and tranform, clothing was something he'd stand there and hate while it chaffed and tightened. He watched more now while Iain ignored him or taunted him with further attention on this creature. Had he forgotten where they were? "Ahum.. Pardon me, kids, but story time's over and I really think it's time to go tuck her in, hah? Or f*ck her in and out and in between, but someplace other than here? You need a ride? I'm not walking home."
She'd forgotten Venge was standing there, in that short of a time since she'd last thought of him, she'd totally gotten caught up in what Iain was doing to her. Her mouth was parted in a silent gasp of pleasure and her fingers were curled in Iain's hair as she turned her head toward Venge, she smiled and then let another soft chuckle out. "Thank you." She was sincere in that, if he hadn't come to annoy them as he had and then stayed to stand guard while they played, they wouldn't have been able to indulge so easily.
"No, thank you," the boys said in unison, though Iain's was far more sincere and Venge was far more sarcastically uncomfortable. He was in no hurry to leave but eager just the same to enjoy her more. "He's right. We can't stay here," he sighed.
"Hah, let me know when you're ready to go. I think you'll have to take care of that little problem in your lap. No, not her. Not a thing wrong with her."
Dakota could just about ignore Venge's sarcasm with Iain. "Definitely can't stay here with the things I'm going to do to you." She teased and promied, brushing a kiss over his mouth.
